If you are seeking a very good price-point on outdoor patio chairs, tables, umbrellas or even garden decor, such as, beautiful solar lanterns or spot lights, this is your jam. They offer a variety of styles and colors at a very reasonable price-point. I even purchased Miracle-Gro bags for a lot less than my home-improvement store. I recommend you take a walk-through the entire store to see what they have as it is a mish-mash of products. I categorize the store as being between a K-Mart and WalMart in terms of their price-point. However, I found lots of items at the Big Lots on Diversey and their Dempster, Niles, IL location to have very similar prices as found at WalMart. They sell some brand-name items and other generic products as well. Parking is ample, but I recommend going on a week day (as opposed to a weekend). Customer service was very friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. It is a discount store with a variety of products, from food to snacks to home decor to outdoor furniture. I purchased a 9-ft. outdoor umbrella to replace a broken umbrella. It was only $45 with a dark brown pole and dark brown spokes. It works nicely and it tilts easily. Their umbrellas were/are on-sale (originally $60). They also had the umbrellas in five different colors, so I was very pleased with the variety of their selection. YES, I would return again for specific items. I even purchased a beautiful, colorful metal garden watering can for only $10! I drilled holes at the bottom and planted hot fushia pink and white annual flowers. I decided to use the watering can as a planter (container) for growing flowers. It looks awesome on our deck with the rest of our containers and hanging baskets. Sweet! Yes, I definitely recommend Big Lots for their good price-point, friendly customer service and a variety of other items at a fair price! I am a satisfied customer and plan to return again in mid-Summer to see what else is "on sale" for our backyard (patio/deck).

I have only been to big lots once, a few weeks ago i went there and bought some laundry detergent and some $5 headphones to listen to music on my phone, im not good with receipts and lose them right away, so a few days later when my headphones started acting up i didnt expect to be able to return them with out a receipt so i threw them away. Ive had headphones short many times over the years but not within days and never in the metal tip thing... so ive decided if i want to buy 5$ headphones i will just stick with 5 below on Belmont and Kimball, they have a great selection of headphones that so far seem well built, either way i wont be buying headphones from big lots again and im thinking of just avoiding buying electronics at big lots like i do with cook brothers.

Some of their cashiers are the sweetest, and when you talk with them its like youve known them for years, SOME OF THEM, Lol, There is a woman that works at this store by the name of Jo, very nice and helpful.. The prices here are affordable, most of the time I shopped here, the store was kept very clean, but sometimes they have their days, where it can get messy cause of the customers, I am a regular customer, the things i see most is parents letting their kids run buck wild in the store, thats the only thing that disturbs my shopping experience here...Other than that, great place to shop.

Gave them 2 stars only because I got what I wanted. It was 3 maybe 4 ppl working in a huge empty store and it took all of 20-30 min to for someone to serve me. Manager Calvin sucks...need new/more employees. Wont be going bck no time soon unless the product I got doesnt work
