I can believe the reviews because this place is terrible. Im sure that she, being the lady in charge, was and is very rude. She attempts to be degrading. She talks over you and not to you. She tells the other customers her version, which is a lie and completely none of their business, about the issue youre trying to have resolved. She behaved basically like a hood-rat, someone with no home training and no manners. You are only shown respect if you agree with her. She is like a rattle snake, you dont see her coming. She just explodes. She threatened to call the police on me after she blew up in her place of business. I encouraged her to do so. I was hoping she would call so that they could see how she was behaving. I had taken a ring to her that means the world to me. She started by degrading the ring which based on the reviews seems to be a pattern. I almost left 2 rings for repairs but she talked her herself right out if that and I almost took my other ring back as well, something I will regret not doing. The band was bent and prongs needed to be replaced along with 1 diamond. End result, she called to tell me that while cleaning the ring 8 diamonds just fell out and went on to give me cost of putting them back in place. I told her "no mam." "You need to put my ring back the way it was when I brought it to you. " She hung up on me at least 5 times. She kept saying she was to busy all day to speak to me about my ring that she had damaged by dislodging diamonds. About 5 hours later, I showed up at the store. She had to talk then. I sat down to talk with her and remained in the chair until I left. She was up moving around slamming things, shouting, and being quite disrespectful. Thank God that I am mild mannered and well raised because she was like the devil trying to get a rise out of me. Then she threatened to call the police which I encouraged because her little show down was worthy of channel 10 news. I cannot say enough about this lady and this company. She respects NO ONE!

I only had my engagment ring for a couple of days & I took it to JCarbones previously known as The Jewelers Workshop to be sized last week & they sized it too big. My engagement ring is white gold which needs to be rhodium plated. They also gave it back to me without the rhodium plating which made my ring look gold. There also were some rough areas on the ring from not buffing it properly. There was also black residue inside the ring from polishing it & not cleaning it properly afterwards. I called yesterday to make sure a jeweler was going to be onsight today to have my ring fixed. I was told there would be one there. I took the day off from work today & when I got there I was told there was not a jeweler onsight. The owner was very rude to me. She actually told me that there was no way anyone would have told me there was going to be a jeweler onsight & that I must have other things going on in my life & that is why I was so upset ( Can you believe that!?! ). I checked around a few other jewelers in town & was advised that when your ring is sized it loosens the diamonds. I was also told that I should have never gotten my ring back without the rhodium plating. It should have been given back to me looking just a gorgeous as the day I orginally dropped it off. I asked for a letter after my ring was resized stating that they checked the diamonds & that they were secure. I was told they would not give me that letter for liability reasons ( I wonder why!?! ). When I asked for my money back & said I wanted to go somewhere else I was told that they were not sure if I could have my money back because work was done to the ring...Yes, work was done....incorrectly! I am very unhappy & I am still uncertain of the outcome of my ring. I would not recommend this jeweler to anyone! 05/01/2008

I recently lost a watch, so I puled a watch out of an unopened box that I received from my mother years ago as a replacement. Of course, the battery was dead, so I took it to J Carbone to have the battery replaced. Instead of replacing the battery, I was bombarded with attempts to sell me a new one. I left it with them and came back when they told me it would be ready. This was not the case, and I had to wait for the jeweler to get there at 5:00PM. Of course, when he arrived, I was told that the watch needed this and that, one of which was a gasket. Skeptical (since the watch had never before been taken out of the box and worn), I inquired as to the reason. I was told that it did not have one and the lady started telling me how cheap it was and that it only had a designer name that was placed on a regular watch and how people pay all this money for them and they arent worth anything. All of this was being said to a crowd of her friends, not engaging me int he conversation. So instead of receiving the information she was spewing as informative criticism, I took it as I was the butt of her "joke" or "Opportunity to highlight her knowledge at the expense of insulting me". I promptly asked for my watch back w/o the battery or any of the other "parts" it needed and left. To JCarbone: All I wanted is a battery. I never asked for your appraisal or opinion on the matter. This watch may not be quality to you, however its sentimental value supersedes that of its monetary value to me. The next time you are faced with this situation, (it does not matter if it is a Fisher Price watch), just do what the customer asks for.

I cant respond to other clients reviews but I can tell you my husband was searching for an engagement ring approx. 5 years ago and ask to have a certain NATURAL stone found and a setting. They brought him back several stonea from the jewelry show and he picked one and it is beautiful (try to get that service anywhere, you want find it). I am from Valdosta and moved when I got married but when I come to town, I go in and ask them to clean my CUSTOM ring and they do every time with no problems. You would not believe the complements I get on my set. You will not find another like it , it is an AK piece. So please go in and ask question regarding expertise on jewelry and you will see they do know what they are taking about and will work with you on the most important jewelry purchase of your life.
