Pedaled in last summer with a slack front tire on my old mountain bike ... I asked if they would add some air, the owner refused saying the tire looked old and unsafe... I left figuring maybe he was having a bad day... Stopped in this morning to give them a second chance - old bike had lost a bolt and I need to purchase a replacement... One of the mechanics said hed look at it and opened a case with 100s of different bolts to select the correct one. The owner came out of his office and said I needed to go across the street to Ace Hardware ... he said "We wont be responsible for the liability of fixing that old bike". I asked if he would sell me the bolt and Id install it - his answer, "Nope - I dont have parts for it" I pedaled to Two Brothers Bike Shop in the Village and the owner installed a new bolt and refused to accept payment... I left $5 on the counter and said thanks... A tale of two shops and two attitudes ... You decide -

My wife and I wanted simple bicycles. We were in Brunswick so we stopped at Dicks to see, generally, what was available. There was NO ONE in the bicycle section for at least 10 minutes, and since we prefer to leave our money on our island, we drove by Monkeywrench on St. Simons Island to see what their hours were, and much to our surprise, it was open on Sunday. The owner, Chris, was there and spent a LOT of time with us going over varieties and determining our needs, never once putting on a "hard sell." We each found the perfect bike and accessories and bought them. The bikes came with a lifetime, 30-day interval inspection (check tire pressure, etc.). I absolutely HATE shopping but Chris made it a pleasure. Id give it 6 stars if another star was available.

I went in to buy a headlight and a basket for my bike. The very young sales associate examined my bike without me asking and said that my bicycle had loose wheels and that I should just buy another bicycle from them, of course. I asked him if there were anything he could do to correct the problem. He said he could tighten it for $10.00 but it really wouldnt do much good. I was going to purchase the things I needed anyway but the price was about double what it is everywhere else. All I left with was the feeling that I wanted to cry.

I purchased a bike at another shop and wound up bringing it to Chris for tuning. It was a new bike which clearly the fist shop did not understand how to adjust/assemble correctly. Chris knows bikes better than anyone I have ever met. And it was a big mistake not to have bought from him in the first place. After Chris made a few adjustments, the bike rode so much better that it totally felt like a different bike.

Great cycling shop for locals and tourists. I live on the island, and grateful for the owner and his staff getting some new tires and tubes, and an adjustment or two, done today - July4th weekend. And I have to comment on another post regarding a bolt and safety of a bike. Kudos to the owner of expressing his concern about fixing an unsafe bike. Thanks for the great service!

Very good service! Open Saturday and Sunday! Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Bike tire and tube replaced while I waited! Very efficient! Great folks to do business with!
