BAD, bad experience with this store that previously shopped at quite a lot. Took 3 grandsons for items. Get to checkout. Cashier says, "oh, I always have trouble with checks", as I write on. I had lost my debit card a few days before. This was the first time writing a check in a long time. My boys and I stand there and it is declined, one, two three times. Now, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I have a very good balance in my checking act. We step out of line and after a ten minute wait someone finally speaks to me from Bank. My balance is just as I thought. Check is fine. She says it is on Academys end that there is a problem. After rep tells cashier check is good we go to another register.....same thing! Declined! My boys and I stand there, my mouth hanging open, according to cashier there is nothing they can do....they lost $100 plus futher monies. I was given a receipt to call for reason but boys threw it away with trash. I was embarrassed, humiliated and more. The boys were disappointed. Never again. In hind sight, I probably should have asked for store manager because customer service sure wasnt any help and now I cant find an email for them.

Horrible experience today. My husband and I shop here ALL OF THE TIME! I bought my husband a fishing pole today for Xmas and it was the last one left. It was scratched up badly and price is $60 bucks. I asked the cashier if they gave any discounts for damaged items so she went to ask her manager and her manager came up and looked at me and my sis and mom and then gave her the answer and said no. I feel like we were discriminated because we are Hispanic. She literally looked at us up and down before she gave an answer. I will be calling customer service to let them know how I feel.

buy something, the next day they discount it. call them, and im sorry, our AD comes out on Sunday, we cant refund you the cost of the difference. 20$ that was all, and i spend 500$+ a year with them. also i would have only asked for a store credit no big deal so i say ill spend more elsewhere for better customer service. reply well sorry to lose you sir but i cant do nothing, no let me get a manger or let me see what i can do just sorry, and BY BY. i could understand 2 weeks or month later but the very next day i call BS.

What can I say, its an Academy and they have it all. Stock is good all the time and if you have a keen eye, theres always good deals. Ive price checked against Amazon, etc...and in store prices are spot on with the rest of the market. Point being, you can by in the store and know youre getting a great deal. Plus, they carry cheaper priced items, like kids boots, that are good quality. If youre a parent, almost nothing is more painful than paying a lot for something you know you kids will out grow by next season.

Ive never had a problem at this store until today. Was going to buy shoes and some Oakley sunglasses. Well couldnt get any help in shoes and no one was around and boxes was mixed up. Then I go to the front and start looking at sunglasses and 3 people behind the counter was standing around talking. I even got one of them to look at me but she wouldnt come help me. So Ill go elsewhere to buy my shoes and sunglasses from now on.

Due to the man who works in the gun section, because of him, yall just lost your store a big money. The man was uncomfortable selling a gun to a 10 year vet because he "thought" he was buying a gun for his father. Out of all the years of us buying guns there, it will never ever happen again. I will make sure that every hears about this and never buys a thing from this company again!

They have a lot of good items but you better know what you are looking for and where it might be in the store. If you ask for help from the employees any of them I have dealt with dont seem to have a clue where anything except the basics are. Their knowledge of the products is limited and for the most part not helpful.

It was a great store. Everyone smiled and said hello. The only issue I had was with a lady named Christy. She was on the front end and had a very irradiated manner about her. She seemed put out when you asked her something. Other than that a great experience.

Awesome store, with affordable prices. Clean, bright and full of values around every corner. There sales specialists are not afraid to say I dont know! BUT, I will go find the answer/person right away. AND, they know how to open ,ore than 1 cashier.

A vigilantly heaven. Yep, they let customers walk around with guns strapped on. I saw 5 guys at one time. WTH! My kids are too young to see this kind of stuff when shopping for a falcons tee-shirt. I will get my sports stuff from someplace else.

Workers didnt even know where to find a braves hat. Handicapped grandfather walked all around store with me looking for one. Come to find out there was a section with 50-75 different styles right in the front next to the checkout

I moved from CA and in East cost first time i saw this store... I was surprise when i saw sports goods and price is too low compare to another Sports store. I purchased lots of shoes and sports clothes. Staff is very very helpful

Ive only been a couple of times... I asked about track and field spiked shoes and no one could find a pair of them.... I ended up @ Dicks... Besides that I have found everything else I needed here for a reasonable price.

I would give zero stars! Threatened to call the A.T.F. on me and have the knock down my door because of their mistake on a gun purchase. I spent LOTS of money in there. I found myself a new sporting goods store.

Great store great employee, ammunition is priced to high in comparison with other retailers in the area , and it not worth the hassle to do the price guarantee so i dont buy much of it at Academy

If they sell it but are out of stock u cant have it ordered you have to keep calling back every time they get a truck to see if they got some in. Going somewhere else where I can order it

Great prices and great selection. Archery, camping goods, guns, knives, and outdoor clothing are just a few of the things they carry here. I even bought my last pair of work boots here.
