THE BEST WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE. I had been to 4 wedding dress boutiques already, and a Formal Occasion was unparallelled in customer service and expertise. From the moment I walked in, I felt like all attention was on me- she listened to everything I wanted. She started by letting me pull dresses, then after understanding what I wanted and would look good on my body, she started pulling dresses for me too. Ever better- she helped me to understand why I liked certain dresses more than others on my body, and started honing in on what was best for me (no one else really helps you to understand the why portion). Not once did I feel like I was just an object they would trying to push a dress on- I truly felt cared about. They wanted to give me everything I wanted and more. My sister, who was with me, even said that would be the first place she goes to look for a dress when she gets engaged. Without any hesitation, I recommend a Formal Occasion to every bride!!! I cant say enough good things about it!!! I found the perfect dress at the perfect place!

When I called to make a Saturday appointment I assumed I would get the full attention of ONE salesperson for my entire appointment. Not the case. I started with one girl who didnt really listen to what I wanted. She just kept saying "just try THIS on" And when she realized she didnt have what I wanted she moved on and left me with another girl who was meek but a little more attentive to what I wanted. Then out of nowhere a third girl starts to help buy was rude and pushy and without seeing me in a dress exclaimed to the entire store that "SHE NEEDS RUCHING!" as in, she has problem areas and they need covered up. It was very embarrassing. I felt as if they just wanted to get me in something so I would buy it. When I did find something they werent sure if they could get it in on time and wouldnt be able to check til Monday. They were supposed to call me and let me know. I never got a call. Not that it matters because I had pretty much made up mind that I wasnt impressed and wasnt going to give them my money.

I went to try on wedding dresses with a friend shortly after I became engaged. We were not looking to buy just yet and wanted to get a feel for what we liked. The staff was so nice! We were taken care of without any appointments and they were totally understanding that we were "just looking". I went back yesterday (again without an appointment) and they took great care of me! They kept the dresses that I like from my previous trip on file and pulled them out for me again. I ended up getting my dress and it couldnt be more perfect! The staff was so helpful and not pushy like the staff at Davids Bridal. I tried on numerous dresses and went back and forth between two of them and they accommodated me so well. They have a lot of options for you to choose from. They have anything from the average everyday wedding gown to fun unique wedding gowns. Their payment plans are awesome and so flexible! I would definitely recommend them to anyone searching for their perfect dress!

I found this shop by an internet search; actually I found several shops. Being a hard-to-fit body type I thought to myself, surely this small-looking shop wouldnt be able to accommodate me. So I first went to a very large shop where they had some selections, where I had a mediocre experience, and I was being coerced into buying a dress way too big (in order to sell alterations.) I decided to give Lucinda a try - and I am SOOOO happy I did! This was the coziest shop ever, I instantly felt at-ease and important! A no-pressure experience with lots of selections in the latest trends. Lucinda was excellent at helping me find exactly the right dress, and exactly the right silhouette. She knows her stuff! She listened!! Im not a cryer and you know what? I cried!! LOL Im very blessed to have found this little shop :)

With three months to prepare for a wedding, most bridal shops confined me to their sample rack of goofy dresses. I walked into A Formal Occasion and Lucinda knocked my socks off with the intimate, personalized display of a variety and quality of dresses! They were so beautiful!! Im a slow thinker when it comes to big decisions, and she was SO gracious and SO helpful. Her advice was precious, as she encouraged me to consider an array of factors Id never thought of in order to find the perfect dress for me. Pushing a sale was NOT her agenda, as she truly wanted to help me and give me peace of mind whether I found a dress or not. Ive never seen so much care in a business. Again, I am astounded by A Formal Occasion. I have lived in the area my whole life and I never knew this place was such a treasure!

I had first gone to Davids Bridal to look at dresses for my Wedding and the lady was rude to my guy friend that was with me, I think because he was gay, and she was in a rush to get me to buy buy buy! She didnt even have time for my humor! I was so upset with the experience that I didnt wanna go back out to look at dresses anywhere! My Moms friend had bought a wedding dress from Formal Occasion and she told me to try there, and thats all she wrote! I loved the way they treated me AND my friend AND they had amazing dresses! NOTHING like what they had a Davids Bridal and all affordable! I felt no pressure and I enjoyed every minute of it. I tried on a bunch of dresses, got to joke and laugh with everyone and found my dress! Im so happy with everything. I could not thank them enough!

The shop is small, but packed with dresses! They have an excellent plus-18 bridal gown selection, too, with a variety of styles and colors. Lucinda was patient and helpful, and very good at reading the bride. Pictures are allowed here, which was great. We were here for three hours and barely noticed how long we were at it, the atmosphere was so relaxed. The bride spent nearly an hour in the dress she ended up buying while Lucinda showed her different veils and hair jewelry, and we discussed different ways she could bustle the dress, etc etc. I would definitely recommend this shop for bridal gowns! The bridesmaid selection was a little thin, though.

I found A Formal Occasion through the Casablanca Bridal website. I went in there looking for a specific Casablanca gown, which they had, but was amazed by their selection! I had been all over Atlanta looking for gowns, and this one small store had more dresses that I loved than some of the bigger stores I had been to! Another great thing about A Formal Occasion is that they have their dresses in small and large sample sizes! 6s and 16s! I was able to try on all of my choices and found the perfect dress! I couldnt be happier with my purchase! I cant wait until the dress comes in January!
