AWFUL experience! Took my car in the have the battery tested, the guy told me it was a bad battery, then ripped it out of my car. When I asked how old my battery was he replied "i dont know, i didnt even look." Then I purchased a new battery in the store, and he acted pissed that he had to install the battery in my car (even though they have banners all across the store windows that say free battery installation). As I watched him put in my battery I saw him undo it and turn the battery around and put it back in. He had put the battery in backwards!!!! Then he still never gave me an answer on how old the battery was and the car is new to me so I would have liked to know when the last person replaced it. So then I get home and get ready to leave my house later on and my car wouldnt start. Now Im car-less in a new state, had to call in to work. Finally after being jumped off about 10 times by strangers over the course of 2 weeks, I go to have the battery checked at the same location since it was where I purchased the battery. After they find out that the battery they gave me was bad (I had to wait in store for an hour), the guy brings out a new battery and slides it across the counter and says "here you go." Ummm, hello???? I didnt take the battery out so how am I going to put one in. He finally came out and installed it for me once he helped the line of people behind me and answered the phone that was ringing. POOR customer service. Ive never had a problem with Advance Auto until I shopped at this store. VERY Disappointed.

This was always my go - to auto parts store. Not after today. A few weeks ago, I picked up a couple gallons of antifreeze. I got the Advance Auto brand. Unfortunately, I picked up the Dex Cool version and I meant to grab universal green, which is certainly my mistake. I finally got around to taking it back for exchange, and guess what... "I cant exchange it without a receipt." Really? Its your store brand. It has your logo all over it. I dont want my money back. I just want to swap it for the correct type. The other stores will get my business from now on. Im not a commercial customer, but I do maintain my 3 cars, 2 trucks, and 2 motorcycles. I also work on friends cars in my shop on weekends. I guess it irritates me more because my real job is in sales, and customer service is my No. 1 priority. Get the right stuff and keep your receipt. Thats what I learned today.
