Ladies, get thee to Von Maur. I went yesterday for the grand opening to find a pair of shoes, and I was wowed. The AJC was right about the price ranges, it was pretty wide, which is good. There were some stellar things worthy of a visit: The HATS! The other department stores must think Atlantans all wear newsboy caps to church. I stumbled on a wide selections of felts, sinamays, fascinators, combs, all pretty and stylish with HATitude. I ended up buying the loveliest wide brimmed purple felt with cascading handmade tiny flowers. They had several others that pained me to leave behind, but you can only explain to the husband so many... The SHOE DEPARTMENT: Their shoe sales staff are trained to find out what you need in size and color, get a feel for your kind of shoe, sit you down, measure your feet if needed, and bring you out a SELECTION of shoes in your size that might work. AND help put the shoes on your feet. I was spoiled rotten. I cant remember the last time someone did that for me, its been years. THE LADIES LOUNGE: It was gracious and accommodating, from the wide shelves in the stalls for your bags, to the hooks by the sinks to hang your stuff on to keep from getting wet while you washed your hands, to the separate mothers room with recliners and changing table. There was a comfortable seating area to rest your aching feet on. AMPLE, COMFORTABLE SEATING for husbands/significant others all over the store. God love them, they get what a girl needs.

I enjoy luxury clothing so I went to Von Maur expecting they would have a selection of Italian shoes and selvedge denim jeans. All they had was a bunch of Chinese made stuff with ridiculous mark ups. If Im going to spend $300 on a pair of shoes why would I buy Von Maurs Chinese shoes when I can get Italian artisan craftsmanship for under $300 direct from Johnston and Murphy? This store is the clothing equivalent of a gas stations food mart, everything is way overpriced and the only reason to buy something there is if youre too lazy to go someplace where you can get the same or better quality clothing for cheaper. Maybe they should make that their marketing slogan, "Von Maur - the Gas Station Food Mart of Clothing".

I am a frequent shopper at this store and usually have good service but the last few times have been exceptional. I would like to thank Natalie from accessories for helping me, she was so pleasant and helpfull with great suggestions and a wonderful energy. She literally ran with me thru several departments until I found exactly what I needed. This lovely lady went above and beyond what I expected of an associate and she made my shopping experience very enjoyable. I will definitely be back. Way to go Von Maur, keep hiring people like Natalie!

Fast becoming a mall favorite! I especially love the fragrance and cosmetic section. Visiting with Dawn in fragrance is a particular fav. She knows about all the good deals in the store. What a gal! LOVE! Had a blast at the cosmetic and skin care show on my birthday October2. Thanks for the awesome prize and fun goodie bag!

Its an upscale place so expect to spend a lot of money on clothes. The prices are a little higher for the same items on other stores (e.g. Lucky brand jeans). The staff hovers a lot, guessing they work on commission, so they can come off pushy.

Beautiful store! I used to be an avid Nordstrom shopper until I walked in to Von Maur...been hooked ever since. This is a must see if you enjoy an all around quality experience!
