I actually left because the music sent from corporate was raunchy hard rock sounding... talking about a girl wearing a mini skirt that was "great between the sheets". I braced myself in the awkwardness til the song passed but the next was just as distasteful. How inappropriate for the environment of book browsing much less the dozen children nearby hanging out until their parents got home from work evidently. Got too uncomfortable. Told manager. He called them to change it for the moment but not specifically to keep that cd out of circulation or tell them why or to monitor in future in their discretion. I wish he would have assured me he understands and agrees and thanked me for pointing it out. But I was left not knowing what his standards are of if he disagreed with me and was just appeasing a complaint. But grateful he addressed it. I was sorry there were no other options for beverage other than Starbucks since I learned they used their profits to endorse democrats and I no longer do business with them. I hope they offer alternative sources for purchase in future to give us more options in the store. I gave a 3 because ambience and all is still lovely if it hadnt been ruined by music selection causing it to sound like I was at a bar. This is getting more disturbing. I looked up Barnes n Nobles in store play list. Titles such as "we steal things". Alarming to see there are no standards. I never thought I would have to worry about offensive music or bad moral influence in a book store. I thought it was a place to help us get exposure to the classics and refined culture. It looks like they have lost sight of good taste and have made a deal with the devil in promoting the latest "edgy hip" cd and soul less record label. Not even contemplating the message piped in for these young students out for the summer. Wheres your conscience? Whats next? R rated movies in the lobby? The lyrics are pretty plain what theyre describing or promoting. "We steal things"? I dont want to read more of these lyrics or choice of "artists" if I dare call them that, because I cant believe someone okayed this. What are you thinking?!? I just read the other reviews. I concur Im concerned about the welfare of children here. Selling pornography to a minor? Racy songs. As one man put it "screaming singer" and another "careless" for customers welfare. Loud unsupervised children? I noticed that too. Young ladies who should know better making a ruckus and climbing on furniture. I came because I had seen how nice the building was and was going to make a point to come more often but Ive changed my mind.

It is very loud, kids playing and laying around the aisles, service at the coffee shop was very slow. Then when I went to check out there were two employees at the register, both of them had customers. When I walked up I looked at both ends of were the registers are, no one was there. I stood at the end were the two employees were to wait for them to finish. The employee at the first register looked at me several times. When the other employee finished I started to walk up to her, she waved another woman to come to her. Apparently you are suppose to stand at the other end, keep in mind no one was there I LOOKED AT BOTH ENDS, there was not a sign telling customers the line started at the other end I LOOKED FOR A SIGN, I never went to the other end because there were not any registers open down there. This was my first time in the store so I had no idea you were suppose to go down to the end by the wall when the two open registers, being used by the employees, were by the front doors. Everyone, including the customers, saw me standing and waiting to be checked out. I ended up walking out without purchasing anything because It was obvious I was in line and the employee didnt care and expected me to wait for three more people to be checked out. I had already waited for two. I have noticed the bad reviews are recent ones. Did management change? Something has gone wrong with this store recently. First time there and will not go back HORRIBLE SERVICE!

My daughter was bitten on 11/9 at the Wiregrass location in the children book area... we were minding our own business when someones one year old walked up to her and bit her arm. Once the mother came around. She said he just got his teeth. 7 to 8 teeth dont grow in over night. Just Saying... Not happy at all... this is a bookstore not a Gymboree to let your children roam about unattended. parents just socialize with others catching up while there younger child is acting up. Unacceptable! We were there to read and bSomeuy a few books since the library was closed on Monday. Now my daughter is terrified to ever go back to this bookstore. She said momma that was a mean baby. I never want to go back. My suggestion is to have employees there to let parents know its a bookstore. Overall before horrible incident we enjoyed the setup of children book area.

I have to say I uses to enjoy coming to this B&N location however, lately Ive noticed they play the same female screaming singers music over and over. First its hard to concentrate when the music is so loud and second why would you play 12-20 songs in a row from the same artist? Especially when this artist is simply screaming her songs and cant carry a tune. Perhaps B&N allows the counter staff to chose the music and the management has their head in the clouds and careless about the customer!

I am usually there once a month. Everyone always seems always busy & doing there job, but no one has ever been rude to us. This place is beautiful Barnes & Noble that is two story with an escalator. We are always in the cafe down stairs. The only negative I have encountered is that the cheesecake tastes old. They have a very wide selection of books to choose from & is overall a great place to take the family.

For yrs now they have needed to bring in more chairs(so we can sit and look through a few books, to find the best one) but of course every one is taken by some kid w/ a cellular device in hand. Some doing homework. They are never in their age appropriate area. Its turned into the local hangout. No place for adults to find that gem. They need a few rules and it will be a great place.

A friends 15 year old son went in to buy anime comics and he came out with a very explicit pornographic anime comic book. No one asked for his I.D., and it wasnt even wrapped in plastic to keep its contents hidden from young eyes. This is very concerning! I will not spend my money here anymore if they think selling pornography to underage kids is OK.

Clean, bright, and friendly. I like the kiosks scattered about that allow you to type in the book you want and it shows a map of where the item is from you- its my own little treasure map! I also like the call ahead feature. You can call and they will have the item at the front for you- or do it online and they will text you when it is pulled for you.
