While the Barnes and Nobles itself is a wonderful establishment the Cafe owner of the starbucks is a pest. I used to be a regular customer who studied there at least once a week. On my last occasion I ordered a venti sized iced coffee and went on to do some studying. I got hungry and decided I wanted something light (I wasnt in the mood for their reheated carb heavy cafe food).I went next door to grab a chicken sandwich and continued studying. The cafe owner had the audacity as I was drinking the Ice Coffee I just bought from her to tell me to eat my food outside the cafe such as the back of the store like some gremlin. I said okay then after she walked away I promptly packed my stuff and left. I will not be returning. Also just for some clarity, theyre no signs of any kind posted about no outside food. I also often do get food there but this particular time I wasnt in the mood. Business tip 101. dont treat regular customers like crap

This Barnes & Noble is my favorite local bookstore. The environment is always clean and inviting. If you have been to a Barnes & Noble before then you should feel right at home. There is also a kids section that has a good selection of kids books as well as a Thomas the Train set for kids to play with. Last visit I had thought, the store seemed undermanned. There was one man operating the registers and no one else to be seen. Myself and another woman waited at customer service for a good 15 minutes before we got helped. After we were both helped the lady at customer service had the run to the front to help with the registers. Even though it appeared the store was lacking employees the ones I did meat where very helpful and understanding. They were doing their best to prevent any wait or congestion. I still like this store and they could have just been short staffed that day. Overall I highly recommend this store.

This book store is more than just a retail location; it is a home away from home. I know that sounds cheesy, but its true. I came here seeking assistance for my students and I thought I would be told "No, we cant help you" just like Target and many other retail stores had told me (when requesting fundraising). But, instead of "no" I received a sit down with a manager and an honest conversation about what Barnes & Nobel could do for my students. Jay spoke to me with honest compassion and sympathy for my students. By speaking to him and working with the store, we were able to get my students on a path toward success! There is also the store manager Mike who has been very helpful and supportive while always cracking jokes. They do SO MUCH for the community that goes very unrecognized. So, long story short-come by and support an AMAZING book store and community.

If you have a thirst for knowledge and a like a variety of pop culture, then Barnes & Noble bookstore is the place to be! I can wander through this store for hours. If I get tired, I can just grab a coffee from inside and hit the books again. Ive been able to accomplish my entire Christmas gift list in this one store, which says a lot. Special events are occasionally held here, such as book signings and, cool technology demos. Ample parking is provided and the staff is friendly and always tries to find exactly what I need. Rachel was especially helpful when I was trying to find some gifts for my family last Christmas. Ill definitely return to this particular Barnes & Noble location.

Barnes and Noble is my happy place and the store on Dale Mabry in Carrollwood is their flagship location! I have been coming here for many years and always enjoy the friendly staff, all the books to buy and the cafe! I love reading and they have so many books at every price! I have their discount card and get discounts every time i purchase something, but i also get discount coupons in the mail! I buy sandwiches, hot cocoa, cookies, etc in the cafe!! Their music area has tons of music and dvds and a very helpful employee to help you find whatever your looking for! Like all B& Ns its a wonderful place to go...often!!!

This is great store!! The people are friendly!, they have the best coffee in the world! AND lunch, tons of electrical outlets to plug your laptop into!, a Island of Sodor (Thomas the Train table) and Lego table for toddlers (of which I have two blond headed kids that beg me to go there 24/7), not to mention tons of books on EVERY subject imaginable, I cant imagine a more priceless local community commodity than a very good book store like this one, because at the end of the day, places like Barnes and Noble remind you of whats possible...for your children and Yourself !

I went with a group and was treated very rudely by the manager and staff. They insisted we ordered something from the café and rushed us the whole time. Keep in mind the store was not very busy and no one was waiting for tables. I frequently see large groups meeting there especially around exam time for schools. I did not feel we were doing anything out of the ordinary. I will definitely not be returning to visit my local store, in an age where physical book stores are dying out, I cannot believe they would treat customers so poorly.

Just left 7-20-16..Horrible service,I waited for customer service for a while and finally an asian lady that said shes management ignored my request for help. She walked off and said"someone paged me." She then came back and said "They paged her to assist me." DUH...If my books were close to another store,I would have never gave them my hard earned money. Ive been in management for over a decade and thats not how you treat your customers!!

ENDANGERD DINOSAUR: Looks the same as it did decades ago, dinosaurs failed to adopt and became extinct. Still a nice place that serves a shrinking customer base. Some like it because its never crowded, why not crowded? Nice parking lot with convenient handicap parking which is negated by two sets of big manual wooden doors. Difficult for someone with a stroller. Go while you can.

Awesome place, tons of books. I can spend hours just browsing their massive selection . They have a nice cafe with food and drinks. They also have lots of comfy seats, for reading. Everyone there is friendly, and helpful. They also have lots of cool things like puzzles, board games, funko pops, and pop culture themed toys and collectibles. Love it, come here all the time.

Great place to enjoy great book or study, starbucks available and very friendly staff, big section of books for kids and very clean enviroment; it would be nice if the staff of Starbucks could keep the loud heads under control at least say something when someone thinks they are at a concert. Overall a great place to spend time and learn.

This is a large Barnes & Noble location with a large selection (including large kids area) and a large cafe. It is probably not the most modern one, but it is acceptable. The staff was fairly friendly, the cafe staff were a bit distracted (I had to go back and ask for the pastries they were supposed to warm up about 10 minutes later).
