My sisters and I had a very mediocre experience at the Iron Inkwell. The facility is very clean, the people are all very nice, and it was a good experience overall. However, we each got a very simple design for our tattoos, and very simple ear lobe piercings, and none of us are happy enough with the outcomes to go there again. The lines on all three tattoos have noticeable inconsistencies, the color in 2 of them is faded and splotchy, and the hole in one ear on both of my sisters ears is done on such a bad angle that even simple hoops look crazy. To be fair, I know that the shop specializes in custom pieces that are much more involved and more exciting piercings, but they should be able to handle simple requests too. We chose Iron Inkwell because one of us was planning a custom tattoo and after much research had chosen them, so we decided to use them for our "sister" tattoos too. After our experience, she decided to wait a little while longer. We are all 3 back to shopping for a new place, as we all have additional work we would like done.

This is the place to get tattooed/pierced in Tallahassee. Richard is a fantastic artist- my husband and I gave him ideas for coordinating tattoos that we wanted, and he came up with some great pieces that we now have tattooed on our sides! Remy, the piercer, also pierced my nose with no complications or pain. Both of these guys are super sanitary. They are strict followers of sterile procedures (As a nurse, I am very mindful of sterility). Something that I really like about the guys at this shop is that they care about their work. They want to see how things are healing up and check in with their clients on how they are liking their new personalized addition. My husband and I did a lot of shopping around before getting our tattoos, and no one was as professional, clean, or as genuine as the guys at this shop. If you are looking for a great addition to your body, and great people- this is the place!

All right. If youre thinking about getting a piercing here, dont. I went to get my nose pierced and it was the WORST experience. I got my nose pierced twice. But I came in for a single piercing. This happened because Remy Smith failed to show me when I asked him to see where he was going to pierce it. He was rude and sarcastic. Ive had my nose pierced before and he was sure that he was piercing it in the same spot. It wasnt the same stop. It was too high and this could have been avoided if he would of marked it and let me see it first. He had to take it out and wait for my bleeding to stop before piercing my nose again. Thankfully he marked it this time and again wasnt in the right spot. Needless to say a painless piercing turned into a painful one. I dont recommend anyone coming here for piercings. Save yourself. But if you want a tattoo, this place is cool.

The piercer had a bit of a "know it all" edge to him which always makes the client feel uneasy. I think its always important to make a client feel at ease at all times and confident in their decisions. I wanted my nipples to be all the way hard when pierced so they could be as big as possible and heal well since they are inverted. But Remy, the piercer, insisted that "he knows what hes doing" and didnt accommodate my wishes. I wish I would have been more demanding, but the adrenaline made me not as clear minded. I am regretful because now I cant stop thinking about "what if" they were all the way erect when pierced, if they would look less inverted, and worried because I read that its important that they stand all the way erect for better healing if inverted.

The Iron Inkwell is the CLEANEST tattoo & piercing establishment I have E-V-E-R been in. The crew working there is SUPER FRIENDLY. They will do whatever they can to make your body modifications needs a reality. I have been pierced several times by their piercer, Remy. Every time I was AMAZED at how quick and painless the process was. After my experience there I refuse to get pierced by anyone else. Richard, the tattoo artist, is currently drawing a CUSTOM tattoo for me. He does PHENOMENAL work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STOPPING BY and checking things out for yourself. They have several portfolios to look at and their staff is very knowledgeable. My local past tattoo and piercing experience includes: BINK , Roaring Ink, and Capital City Tattoo.

My two friends and I were looking to get related tattoos of different designs. Richard saw us the same day we called to consult, and all three of us were able to get tattooed over the next two days, despite their quite busy schedule. Lacy was our actual artist, and she did an amazing job on all of our tattoos, and was especially amazing with helping our extremely apprehensive friend easily get through her first tattoo (and thinking about another already). Overall, the people were absolutely amazing, friendly and professional. The studio is superbly clean and has a bright and inviting atmosphere. We would (and and ready have) recommend this place to anybody!

I went in today for a piercing and not only is the environment sanitary and calming but the staff is amazing. I was a bit uneasy and I came in only to check the place out but after talking to Richard and Remy, I was sold, hopped on the chair right away. Remy answered all my questions and concerns and made me feel comfortable throughout the time there. Its a casual but professional business and Im looking forward to going back to work on some ink. I had shopped around other tattoo shops in the area and I finally found an artist that I felt comfortable with my concept at this shop, mind you this was my first tattoo ever. From the second I walked through the door everyone in the shop made me feel welcomed and at home. My artist did a lion half sleeve on me and it came out better than I imagined. From my experience with the artist and the shop itself Im confident in saying that all my future tattoos will be Iron Inkwell tattoos.

Mike did an AMAZING job! He took the pieces of paper (aka my idea) and drew an outstanding sketch. I was happy with what he designed but never imagined the beautiful masterpiece that was the final outcome. I had a couple compliments just shortly after leaving the shop. He took the time to make every detail perfect. I LOVE the work he did and would recommend him to anyone. He made me comfortable and took care to do the piece in stages. I couldnt be more pleased!

I have been going to Remy for all my piercing needs for years, and theres no one I trust more to poke a hole in me! Professional, clean, quick, and concise! Hes also got a pretty killer pop toy collection to distract ya if youre squeemish! Ive also been tattooed by Richard, the owner, whom is an amazing artist! I have a mandala on my arm that he designed, and its easily my most complimented tattoo! Love these guys!
