Since I cant give it zero stars I am giving it one. The manager was so rude to me. I was doing laundry at the laundry matt across the parking lot and their change machine was broken so while my clothes were being washed I ran across the parking lot in the pouring rain to this dollar general and bought some snacks. While I was purchasing snacks at the counter, I asked if I could trade a 5 for some quarters and the manager who was right behind the cashier heard me and said with a lot of attitude that they dont do that, to which I said "are you serious?" And she put her hands on her hips and said "yea Im serious," and was not nice about it at all. I understand if its their policy to not do that but I went to their store soaking wet and bought stuff and was treated very poorly. A little compassion would have been nice. Not going back there anymore.

My husband and I just purchased a few items at this store, and I am not at all happy about the way the manager reprimanded the nice cashier in front of customers. In front of customers, the manager felt it appropriate to inform the cashier that this was her second warning (it was simply about the way she handed cash back to customers or something of that nature). I felt embarrassed for the young woman who probably makes minimum wage. Shes always so pleasant when we shop there and feel she is an asset in that particular store. The grumpy manager was out of line, and I regretted the moment we left for not speaking up and telling her so. She should have nothing to do with training or correcting employees as her conduct is highly inappropriate and unprofessional.

This store is really good just for cheap stuff. I wouldnt recommend buying anything cold or I guess open. Theyre food and other stuff is sometimes out of date. This store could be better if they take the time to clean it and stock it right.
