you will not believe the deals and hospitality! it was my 1st time today. I started off by taking a small walk through the produce section to browse my options -- without a cart, ( it is a quite a busy store and im so happy that it is because that clarifys its justice and safety in staying put! ) After a stroll through I went to the Bakery/meal deals section conveniently located towards the front end of the store-- so i could by a fresh fruit beverage ! I chose Sour sop- for 1$ who could beat fresh juice !!!! than i continued my journey except now with a cart, I loved all the time and assistance given, I felt genuinely cared for and even held conversation with a few customers asking them if they were regulars and mentioning the great deals. Towards the end of my shopping I stopped by the cooked food section and ordered oxtail and arroz con gandules ( yellow rice and piegeon peas ) SOOO tasty and i am overly satified! plus they have really watermelons! ( that is ones with seeds, in case you forgot. ) yum yum yum enjoy, buene porvecho :P P.S THEY CATER!!! real authentic spanish food/baked goods!

Low prices and an incredible diversity of products keeps this little store busy around the clock. I would recommend going through once to scope things out before going in with a big list. It is usually crowded and navigating is alot easier with a plan that keeps you from going in circles looking for items. I am constantly price checking vs. Publix, and Thrifty is ALWAYS significantly cheaper for the same quality food. You can almost always find specialty Asian, Caribbean and South American produce... even homemade kimchi! The meat and seafood counter is AMAZING... you can pick out a whole fresh fish (clear, unsunken eyes!) and they will clean it or filet it to your liking at no extra charge. I get a lunch hot plate once a week when I buy groceries, and not only is it delicious, but it can feed myself, my husband and my son for $6. The staff is always smiling and friendly, and have no problem stopping what theyre doing to help you find something. This place is a gem, and is a God-send for my familys budget!

My husband and I look forward to our trips to this store. Go there with patience as it is busy ALL the time. But, it is so interesting with such a wonderful variety of food, fish, meats, specialty items, and you will never eat a better lunch than in their store. It is so inexpensive and you get so much food to eat. This is my favorite place to go for all the things you want. If some of the Big Name places went down there to see the customer service, how nice and helpful the employees are they could see what Good Customer Service really is, these employees are efficient, helpful and nice. Keep it up.

I have been in search of a good place to buy produce in Melbourne area. Saw by the reviews that this place was in high ratings. Went on 7/29 and was very dissapointed. The selections did not look fresh. Apples bruised and nicked. Watermellons small and didnt look ripe. Cherries old and soft. Still decided to try some things. Bought the watermellon and it had no taste at all. I have bought many this year already from Publix, walmart ect. and all have been good. Grapes were mushy, pineapple not sweet. I dont know if i hit a bad day, but i definitely will not be going back.

Not only are the prices reasonable and have more produce than what you will ever see in any of the large supermarkets and the meat and fish counters have their own butchers present. The staff and owners are courteous and honest. How do I know they are honest? I forgot my wallet there when I checked out. When I went to retrieve it, all of my credit cards and money were untouched. They did not even want me to leave a reward for the honest cashier who turned it in to the office. Good public relations in my book. Thank you Thrifty Produce. I will sing your praises.

Thrifty Produce has everything you need to make great food, at a great price!!! I go to Thrifty weekly and the prices never fail to amaze me. Thrifty is the coolest produce/meat market/Deli youll ever go to. Theyve even had a live DJ there on ocassion. Latino, Asian, Jamaican or American food at great prices. The Pan Sobao (sweet Puerto Rican bread) is still better at Brave tho down the road but that is the only thing I go there for anymore hot & fresh at 8am. The hot deli food at Thrifty is the best. HUGH portions for little prices.

This a great store for meats, vegetables, and fresh fish. Not for your paper products, laundry soap, dogfood, etc. Wide variety of things you might not see elsewhere. A truly wonderful hot food bar for takeout, more than you can eat for about 6.95. Beans and rice, plantains, choices of meats. Things like chicken, oxtail, goat, fish sometimes. All very tasty, served by friendly and helpful staff. This is our go-to spot after church. I had braised pigs feet, my wife spicy teriaki chicken with beans and rice. Easily fed three of us.

I like supporting local businesses and usually this place is pretty good but today the service (or lack thereof) was appalling. The lady at the hot food case was extremely rude. The lunch combo usually comes with plantains and since they were out my boyfriend asked to substitute tostones instead. The lady acted like it was our fault that they were out of plantains. She ended up charging him for the plantains even though its literally the same plantain that makes both side dishes. Also the pork was really grizzly and gross.

Prices are great but a lot of their produce is "banged up" i spent 78$ on produce and all my bananas were black when i peeled them and my mangos were rotten and brown on the inside as well as my avocados also. Very dissapointed in the quality of their produce but you get what you pay for i guess. I wont be returning thats too much money to spend on produce i couldnt enjoy. However the workers were nice and work hard and they take good care of their store

Me gusta los precios, la gente trajajadora y amable de Thrifty Specialty Produce. Sin duda, lo mejor en toda la Florida Central para comprar productos de calidad a los mejores precios. Thrifty es altamente recomendado!!

Thrifty is indeed thrifty! Prices here are typically a cut better than youll find at the green machine. And thats particularly good if you know how to pick the best produce-wise. The selection is very good. Great variety in all the departments: seafood, deli, meat, veggie, fruit, and dry goods. Bear in mind this is a highly ethnic place...but then again sos my family. :) Highly recommend this place. Wish they were closer to us...

Best prices on fresh meat and produce in town. I spend 3/4 of my monthly food budget there. And since I found out about the place and found my way around the stores selection I have gotten a lot more food for my limited food allotment and eaten things I havent had in years as well as a few new things I have never tried before. I love the place even though its usually crowded its very easy to understand why.
