After going back and forth among the "big" name stores in Aventura Mall, literally for days, I decided to find a local jeweler to buy an engagement ring. What I hated about the Mall people was their pushiness about making the sale. Very sale oriented, and I understand that its their job; but thats not what I needed to make this big purchase. Everyone there professed to be an expert on the ring, but among the different salespeople in different stores, I was getting the run-around on facts about sizing, time, money, on and on. I went to a couple different local jewelers around Hollywood/North Miami/Hallandale before coming across Diamondhead. All I wanted was a solitaire round diamond. Steve took out a loose diamond. It looked good. No issues, no pushing the sale. He answered my questions, but the sale was up to me. No commitment. For me, customer comfort is a big part of shopping, especially for big purchases. If suits and bright lights and "expert" salesmen is what you want, go to the mall. Youll be pulled in every direction. If you want straight-shooting, go to Steve at Diamondhead. Hes cool, relaxed, does all his own work. Thats another big part about this purchase. Id MUCH rather give my money to a local person than some corporation. The corporations will always be there; theyre not weeping over me walking out of the store without a ring. Buying from Diamondhead felt good. Putting money into local ventures is the way to go. Im just really happy to have found a relaxed ending to this search. Looking for an engagement ring is heavy work, at least for me, being so undecided. Shopping at Diamondhead was a huge relief. The price was right. Dont let the location turn you off; this isnt Macys or some place like that. This is a local shop. This is how real people work in the real world. Plus, you can turn around and mail a letter or package in the same visit! PS: Dont let "Ruths" review turn you away. She wasnt there for jewelry. Who knows what that was all about.

DEAL WITH THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

I have been going to Diamondhead Jewelers for about 15 years and that alone should say something. Steve has made me several pieces of jewelry, fixed my jewelry and watches. We have also bought many pieces of jewelry from Steve. I love visiting with Steves fur baby Thunder he is such a cool baby. Not only is Steve a great jeweler but he and his wife Melanie have become great friends. I have referred my family and friends to Steve for years. I went somewhere else one year and that was a BIG mistake. They will custom make your jewelry and do it exactly the way you want it. They will even fine tune the details if you request. They are not satisfied until you are satisfied, period!

I stopped in to have them examine a ring. They straightened the setting and did not charge me a dime. They then gave me a ring box free of charge when I mentioned I would like to buy one. I was very pleased with the honesty and care for someone who wasnt even a customer. They were not at all money-hungry or greedy. An excellent little jewelry shop!
