I was in the store located at 6757 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34209 on Sunday May 10th at 5:00PM. I went in to but treats for my 6 pets. I was looking at the birds, guinea pigs, ferrets, and lizards and I noticed non of these animals had any food or water. The birds had two food dishes and two water dishes and they were both completely empty, the ferret waster was so dirty and they had no food at all. The guinea pigs had no food either their food dishes were full of poop. One of the guinea pigs was very sick. I could tell just by looking at him he was laying on his side and barely breathing and when he did manage to get up he could not hold his head up. I was going to talk to an employee but the only people there were three boys who didnt even look old enough to be working let alone know how to care for these animals. this was very upsetting to me. I have had animals my entire life and to see them not being taken care of properly was disgusting!! I put all the treats I was buying back and walked out of the store. You are the only store in the area that sales the treats I buy, but I will not be coming back into this store. This issue need to be taken care of immediately and maybe you should be employing people who care enough about the animals to take care of them. My husband were just talking about getting a new pet but we will NOT becoming to this store. It is very sad. I went home in tears!!

Ive been shopping at this Petco for six years simply because they are close to my house. The reason I give this store 1 STAR is because of the dozens of times Ive had to wait and wait and wait hoping to cash-out. Sometimes I was the ONLY person in line at check-out and still had to wait a long time to cash-out because a customer would be at the register chatting away with the cashier! I had to wait nearly 15 minutes once because a customer was taking their time at the register. The customer had coupons and both the customer and cashier were chatting like two old ladies! Another employee finally came-over and cashed-me out. Employees at this Petco are trained to be friendly with customers especially at the registers it seems and customers, as a result, often chat up a storm not caring about anyone waiting in line behind them. Ive been guilty of the same thing. Also, when you first walk-in the door at this Petco - if youre going to need help - youd best ask for help at the register if anyone is there. Chances are it would be difficult to near impossible to find help without waiting a year in the separate departments.

Brittany is the store manager and bent over backwards to help me figure out an issue regarding my dog and then on to what toys he would really dig. I did discuss a few reviews here and they were before her tenure. The grooming shop in particular is awesome and took me years to find a great groomer - which is at PetCo Manatee Avenue. They really do love animals.

Great experience. The manager Brandon and employee Ryan helped a tremendous amount. They were honest and saved me from making a mistake with a new fish tank setup. I appreciate that. In the end I spent more money just from the information they gave me and with a smile. I would rather do the right thing.

My puppy always enjoys coming here and the prices are good. The only thing I dont like is they constantly badger about their puppy classes, it gets very annoying. Im kind of at the point where I might not want to go in anymore because Im tired of being asked about it!

They carry a "cat be gone" type spray that keeps cats off my car. I have a convertible and the cat hair annoys me. We always visit Petco after eating next door. They have lots of little furry guys and intersting animals to look at.

Great store with friendly, helpful personnel. A wide variety of food for dogs with special dietary needs like mine. The store is always clean and doesnt sell "puppy mill" animals.
