New to the area and stopped in to get some braid for my reel. Not only did they do an amazing job spooling it (included backing, get that at Dicks) but as I started asking some questions to the guy who was helping me, the owner split off from the customer he was ringing up after asking if he needed anything else and came over to help me out. He was very knowledgeable of the area, gave me tips and locations to wade since I dont have a boat, and pointed out what lures to use for what I was after without pressure to buy. Will be back for that Stradic FK soon, same price as the lowest I could find online......

I buy nearly everything that I need for fishing at Discount. Not only for the price but for the advice. They actually will advise you against purchasing something if they believe you are making a mistake. I have never had a retailer that gets to know you and serves you better than the guys at Discount Tackle....and all at comparative prices to anyone else around. I actually drive past 2 other retailers to get there.

Great customer service. Super nice & friendly staff. I used to work on fishing boats 25 years ago & havent fished since. They helped me navigate outfitting two rods for a few different situations, without overselling me with things I didnt need. Worth the extra drive past a few tackle shops on the water, and Im glad I did. Huge selection, too. Fine folks for sure.

If you want to fish the waters in the Sarasota, Bradenton area and need fishing gear and good, solid advice youve got to go to Discount. I relocated to this area from Arizona and was a real novice fishing these waters. The staff gave me good fishing tips and equipped me with the items I needed for success at very good prices. D. Discount Tackle Outlet is the ONLY place I stop. They always know what is happening in the Gulf and what the fish are hitting. Friendly, knowlegdable and professional service every time you stop you cant beat the prices anywhere. I drive 45 minutes to get there and its worth the trip everytime. Thanks guys!

A far cry from "discount". You are just as well off going to Bass Pro, Dicks or Walmart. Limited selection of rods or reels that quickly escalate in price. Reels start at about $50 and rods at $25. Not so bad when it comes to tackle and line. Decent selection at typical retail prices.
