Joshua your review is 100% correct. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INCREDIBLY ACCURATE INSIGHT. This is hands down THE WORST WHOLE FOODS IN THE USA . I wish more people would realize this and stop giving this store their business and hard earned MONEY. THE STORE SELLS EXPIRED FOODS, HORRIBLE PRODUCE (WHICH IS MOSTLY NON-ORGANIC) FISH WITH WORMS & OLD & ROTTEN PREPARED FOODS. MOST OF THE people working there, especially in customer service are rude and incompetent. I PREFER TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE AND GET ORGANIC PRODUCE FOR MUCH LESS MONEY. The manager is a COMPLETE A-Hole. WHEN a customer complains about something to the store manager, his response is, "IF YOU DONT LIKE SHOPPING HERE THEN DONT COME BACK", ( so professional) !!! THE STORE MANAGER"S NAME IS BUCK BUCKLES. He HAS a very easy, CUSHY job and basically does NOTHING. I have heard that He does however go FISHING with the "boys" in the REGIONAL office of Whole Foods. His buddies in regional make sure that he keeps his position NO MATTER WHAT. . Mr Buckles gets away with EVERYTHING. He is very well connected to the higher-ups in the local SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL OFFICE OF WHOLE FOODS, therefore he really doesnt work very hard at all. He is hardly visible in the store . If a customer speaks to him, he doesnt make any eye contact whatsoever with the customer . He shows a total lack of interest in anything the customer says. He actually walks away while youre trying to speak to him. He is such an a-hole. Unfortunately, he is basically UNTOUCHABLE and protected by his friends at REGIONAL. He has been getting away with doing "NOTHING" to improve this store for years. HE IS ACTUALLY A DETRIMENT TO THIS STORE. He is both dismissive and abusive to customers and permits his employees to follow by his disgusting example. HE COULD CARE LESS ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Many years ago before this "BUCK" took over the Aventura store, it was a much friendlier environment. This store has NOT BEEN GOOD FOR A VERY, VERY LONG TIME . . I only wish they would get rid of this USELESS PIECE OF TRASH , STORE MANAGER at AVENTURA WHOLE FOODS , "BUCK BUCKLES" . HE IS THE WORST MANAGER EVER. If a customer gets sick due to the stores negligence Mr. Buckles COULD CARE LESS. PEOPLE SHOULD STOP GIVING THIS FILTHY WHOLE FOODS IN AVENTURA THEIR MONEY. SURELY YOU WILL GET SICK FROM THEIR SUBSTANDARD PREPARED FOODS, WORM-INFESTED FISH, AND OLD, RANCID PRODUCE. THIS STORE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO AVENTURA and to the COUNTRY

I love Whole Foods, it has been my store of choice for years, when I lived in CA, IL and now FL. However, this specific store does not live up to the standards of the others. I stop off each morning at 8:30 to make a salad from the salad bar. I am lucky if all of the ingredients are out, I am lucky if each item has a serving utensil in it, and often times the trays with ingredients are only 20% full ... leading me to believe it was left over from the prior day. Today at checkout I selected to receive $50 cash back from my debit card, the cashier handed me a $50 bill, I politely asked if she had smaller bills, I was told they had only been open 30 minutes that is all she had. Oddly enough, the bag boy had on his customer service thinking cap and kindly suggested I go to the service desk and they could provide me with smaller bills. So, off I went to the customer service counter totally fine with the suggested arrangement. Upon arriving I requested smaller bills of which I was abruptly told it would have to be all tens. I told them no problem that was great. A 2nd girl behind the service desk snapped at me, informing me I had to understand they had only been open 30 minutes. I actually asked her if she was mad at me, if I had done something to offend her. She told me no, but 30 minutes into the day I cant expect them to have $20s. OMG! I just overpaid $30 for some salad and fruit, and I cannot expect the night or morning manager who retains or gets the money to insure that 3 cash registers have $20s to start the morning out with ... that is just crazy. The funny part was, I wouldnt have cared if they gave me 50 one dollar bills, I just didnt want a $50 bill. By far, this Whole Foods, in my experience, is one of the most poorly managed within their chain. Additionally, the staff is sorely lacking in training and customer service. If you are in a hurry, I suggest you go to Fresh Market a half mile south, but if you are a die hard Whole Foods fan, there is a new one in Miami Gardens just 4 or 5 miles south on Biscayne.

The AVENTURA location is a loser all the way around. Upon arrival there is limited parking with the width of every parking space fit for a sub-compact. Look around at all the dents in the expensive imports parked like sardines on top of one another. A rough ethnic crowd next door at the target oozes its way into this substandard market. Enter the store and you get sticker shock at the price on the specials for sale, 3x the price of a Publix or Fresh Market item of the same quality. A generally obnoxious customer base with an entitlement mentality jockeying for position at the seafood counter. No number system and again outrageous prices for mediocre quality. Whats most troublesome is the manner in which the products are displayed or "not displayed intentionally" to sell out the overpriced stock that nobody buys ie: "atlantic salmon steaks" farm raised at $10.00 per lb vs wild salmon steaks at $20.00 per lb. They clerk holds up a large salmon (hidden in storage in the filet section) and says we will cut you pieces of salmon yet ONE outdated piece of salmon is on display intentionally to make the customer think there is no more available so they can buy the more expensive wild salmon that has 24 pieces on display for twice the price that nobody will buy or want. An intentionally dirty bait and switch marketing tactic utilized to maliciously hoodwink the customer into unnecessarily spending twice the price. Go complain to the manager on duty and you will get a slick excuse with a disrespectful tone as if he could care if you ever come back. I will not be going back and will email this complaint to upper management. I will not be treated with disrespect by somebody who does not acknowledge problems with their management responsibility and is insolent and quarrelsome.

Whole Foods is becoming the new Publix. I live right next to the North Miami location. Since it was Bread and Circus in the Massachusetts I have been a loyal patron. Why? Because I trusted the quality of the products and the freshness of the food. Once in a while - I expect to get an item that might be expired or faulty. But in the past 6 months I have purchase more than a half a dozen items that were expired, rancid or spoiled. From meats to fish to dairy - even their flowers and hot bar food has been disappointing. I am NOT the type of person to return things to grocery stores but I spend around $150 a week there and its unacceptable that the shelf life of products are not maintained in a top-notch manner. If I want to take risks with my food I will go to Publix. I bought Crab Legs last night for a dinner party. As I boiled them an infuriating stench filled my entire house that smelled SO bad I was embarrassed when my guests came over and had to light 4 candles to mask the smell. Bottom line is I should get a paycheck for doing Quality Assurance. Now when I shop there - I check ALL the labels for expiration dates and I also feel like I cannot rely on what the staff says. Bought rancid sausages and fish from them - and you would think they would have first hand exposure to knowing if their products were spoiled. Just disgusted. Hope you fix this and regain my confidence because I really do love Whole Foods and never had this issue in any other state before.
