People Loitering loitering loitering all the dag on time before walking in the store. Very uncomfortable and it doesnt make a person feel good walking in. 1.This store never have any hand baskets available for pick up when entering the store!! Why should I have to walk up and down each register to see if there is an available one each and every time! 2.Regular checkout : Their cashiers are ALWAYS having conversation with each other while completing transactions. How rude!!! Clearly the management team doesnt care about proper training because they are just as unprofessional at the checkout lines. And CLEARLY there is no rules when it comes to certain piercings at the front end. Also, clean your belt! Who wants to place their foods on a filthy, sticky belt. 3. Self checkout lines : The volume is wayyyyyyy too loud. I wouldnt have an complaint if we were given the option like all other Giant stores to mute the volume. Also, there should be some sort of line blocker at the self check out so that others wont be right up on you while completing your transaction! Very uncomfortable 4.Employees in whole except for the Pharmacy... UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! They are not good with food handling. Not good with speaking to customers. On their phones in the aisles and the list goes on. 5. Cleanliness : Im in the produce aisle the majority of the time.. Things are sticky, dried up, soggy etc. Overall, Sad to say, but I expected that being in the location it is in.

I ordered a cake on a Thursday that I needed to pick up Saturday by 3 p.m. the cake I ordered was selected from the bakery book. When I arrivered at 2:57 p.m. to pick up the cake it wasnt ready then when it became ready it look NOTHING like the picture I selected, it looked horrible and had hair on it. Spoke with the Store Manager who instructed another manager to give me $30 in gift cards to bring the cake down to $10 however I left the cake and had to settle for cupcakes. This was really sad because this was a cake for my daughter that was turning 10 and the bakery did a great job disappointing her. I also agree that the lines are always to long and leadership isnt so friendly at the front line. Due to the location of this giant store I expect alot more because people will always have a negative thought. Giant can do alot better if only the leadership lead by example and employees felt appreciated, employees usually only not enjoy their job when they dont fell appreciated. A simple thank you goes along way

Today, they {the-they, would be whoever was managing} had one fast lane checkout (fcol) open and this was around 1:15 p.m. around 1:20 p.m. I was still in line waiting to check out. So I asked another Giant employee who was in line behind me, "how come they wont open another {flco}"? The staff said that she wasnt sure. 3 min went by; the line is growing people starting to get loud. They decided then to open another {flco}. I ask the Giant worker standing behind me, how come they didnt do that in the first place? She said, "I was wandering the same thing". I approached who I thought was the manager who informed me, that he was, so I explained my concern. He told me that the other checkout cant open until he gives the okay or something to that effect. We cant continue to allow this to happen in our community. I should be able to shop at Giant food and receive a professional courtesy from staff at this location as I do any other.

Just came home to cook some chicken that I bought just 20 minutes ago to find out that the chicken is inedible. This is the exact reason why I dont like this Giant and only went to it because it was convenient to where I was when I needed the chicken. Big mistake.. When you know better do better is the lesson for the day. It is clean and the security guy is always nice however the quality of the food here is the worse. You can see the difference in quality of food from this grocery store vs the Giant off of Connecticut Ave in NW DC. And this Giant is more expensive.

I dont know what these people are talking about. I moved to the neighborhood recently, and have been going to this Giant since. Ive found the store clean, nice and well-stocked. As far as customer service, I havent had a problem, and in fact look forward to going to the deli as one of the employees there is so nice! And, I always end up in conversations with other people while waiting in line. The only reason its not getting a 4-star rating from me is because I have to go to another store to get a couple of items they dont carry, but do in other Giant stores.

I dont know whats up with the racist comments and all the haters but I was at this brand new Giant in SE with my wife and two sons (ages 6 and 1). We are Caucasian and did not feel threatened or were mistreated by anyone. The store was clean, the people were polite and I would shop there again. People there were all dressed nicely (after all it was on a Sunday afternoon after church let out). Overall our visit to the Giant and through Anacostia in general was quite enjoyable. I love the new library and see many great things on the horizon.

This is the most unreal giant i have been to and my last time... Rodney Harres (S.M) is Rude an make up rules to use against giant customers . I know giants coupon policy, but this particular store manager changed giants policy just to fit him for Example: "Giant does not accept printable coupons" When i asked to see this policy change at Giant Store #384 Rodney Harres (S.M) Got rude and said no im not going to show you and i said no im not going to spend my money in this or any other Giant Company Again

Its always a reason to not like your trip into this store. If its the workers who act like they dont want to be there or cant speak when spoken too, or the other shoppers who dont have manners when they are out. I understand some people dont know how to act but when you are grown and teaching you kids how to steal thats a problem. And dont get me started on the BOOTY watching officers at the door, if only they watched the thieves as much as they watch BOOTY this store wouldnt be going down hill.

This store is a great addition to the neighborhood but floors at entrance are often quite dirty due to spills. And lots of folks always hanging around outside. Not as clean as other Giants in NW and nearby Maryland. Manager does respond to complaints, but cleanliness inside and outside should be a priority! The SE community deserves this! Hope I dont have to take my dollars to nearby Harris Teeter.. Please make THIS Giant Store a model!!!

This store used to be really nice when it opened but has quickly spiraled downhill. The aisles are poorly organised. The staff do not appear to be trained and are in general very unprofessional in appearance and demeanor. The entire store is consistently filthy. I now have to drive a few miles away because I refuse to shop here unless it is an emergency. This location is a disgrace to our community and Giant.
