Wide variety of fresh produce, meat, seafood, and even freshly prepared Korean dishes at the in-store food counter (Mannarang, I reviewed this separately). I even see exotic produce and root crops that I have not seen in California stores. Theres also a bakeshop right by the entrance and they have some nice looking cakes; havent tried them though. Grocery items go around Asia. They have quite an assortment of Filipino, Vietnamese, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, and of course Korean food products. Theres also a gamut of ready-to-cook Korean dishes like bulgogi and marinated pork belly, and all the side dishes that are common on Korean dining tables. You can get kimchi by the bulk too. Parking is almost never a problem. There are rails right in front of the store for bikes. Aisles are narrower than what you find in Safeway or Walmart but thats a small matter. Credit and debit cards are accepted and I think theres an in-store ATM. Outside Hmart, theres a Starbucks, FedEx, two Chinese restaurants, a Vietnamese restaurant, and another Korean food court. At the basement of that food court is a small Asian household department store. All in all, Hmart is more than just a go-to Asian grocery. Its where you find the taste of home.

Very bad customer service, and unreasonable employee. I normally shop at this location, they are the only store i know that sells fresh fish in my area. My roommates whom do not know much about fish, Purchased 6 tilapia fishes from the store. They only ask the fishery guys to gut and clean the fish stomach. They did not know you have to remove the fish scales. So they brought the fishes home with scales. A couple of days later when i wanted to cook the fishes I realized the scales were still on the fishes. so i took it back to the store to ask them to clean it for us. The lady at the customer service desk refused to have the fishery guys clean the scales off the fishes because we did not have our receipt. I repeatedly told her that we bought the fish there and we only needed for them to clean the scales off the fish. I pleaded with her several times with no positive outcome. she insisted that the manager( whom never came to listen to us) said i have to have my receipt. i left the store in frustration and had to deal with the mess of descaling 6 fishes at home. The customer service at this store is bad, These people were being unreasonable for such a simple issue that couldve been easily fixed.

I honestly think its a beautiful store. The process is gorgeous. I am mesmerized by the Asian culture and all its beauty. Im also new it cooking (crazy I know ) and I am a mommy. As a black woman...sweet and kind as can be, I just needed a little help. I asked a few Asian man (employees) to help me out with the items on my list. Yet, I was given the cold shoulder. I totally understand theres a language gap. I just figured that would be understood, in this country...I guess¿ I was overwhelmed for a while through my shopping trip. Thankfully kind Asian Madame help me out with a smile on her face. She brightened my day and experience at the H Mart. Asian recipes require several ingredients that you can only find an Asian food mart. And the only ones that I know of in Maryland are in Ellicott city or Catonsville. So I have to drive pretty far now days. It was critical that I came home with all of my items on my list. On all the only complaint that I have is I wish the employees were just nicer to people like me and understood that I respect your culture and would never disrespect it. Just be more willing to help out people like me. I will be back soon hopefully you get this message. Peace!

Alright, so maybe you arent looking for a whole squid, sauteed baby octopi, or kimchi so hot it makes your nose hairs burn. Maybe the labels are strange, and the smells stranger. Dont let that intimidate you. How about some fresh fish at amazing prices? Hard to find fruits and vegetables? Asian candies (pocky anyone?) noodles, more noodles, raman, and tea? Or the wonderful Asian diner there? Or maybe you want some of that great Korean bakery goods, sauces and oils? This place needs to be added to your Grocery stopping stop. You may not need to go there all the time, but a couple of times a year for things you wont find anywhere else. Branch out and enjoy!

Once you shop at this place, you wont want to go anywhere else! H Mart carries a wide selection of products from around the world. The fruits and vegetables are priced below the major chains most of the time, and you wont find a fresher selection of seafood on the westside of Baltimore (they also offer a fish cleaning service). For the person on the go who doesnt have time to cook, there are very affordable ready-made hot food items to go ($3 for a whole fried mackerel!). Definitely worth checking out.

The market is great food, but have one little Korean restaurant at the corner of market is bad. When I go there today I have order squid tempuler ,they give you new one out box and then go to kitchen for deep fried again, and they change old one to you. Please do not do that again, this is my second time order squid , first time is ok, because today one young women do cashier there. Next time i will go again , but i want see who do cashier first

I left some stuff (meat) there, and when I came back 30mins later they said they looked at the camera and that another person, a young lady, took it. Well, that young lady lives with me, and we found out that we our meat there. It was $18 down the drain. They just wont admit it. We know that we should have checked if everything was put on the cart, but that was just dishonest. Well never shop there again though we have shopped there regularly.

Just because I gave way slowly to a Mexican employee here(800 N rolling rd, MD) then he gave me very nasty noise and we quarreled, the next week he inserted a nasty used toothpick into papaya in my shopping cart. Later again he put corrupt orange into the chives bag in my cart. This is the worst grocery store I have ever been. In the same store, the Mexican employees insulted my wife and me just because she double checked one kind of fruit.

Love the freshness of veggies and seafood and I simply enjoy shopping there. I dont come as often as I want because a lot has to do with the level of treatment given at Checkout! A typical shopping experience normally ends with the clerk not even acknowledging my existence! No eye contact just simply devoid of customer skills. I hope things change because I like the store. Nothing to say about the mart except for the parking and the restaurant inside. Shoping carts are everywhere in the parking lot. As per the restaurant inside, my 15 minutes wait time turned out to be 45 minutes. First person to order first to be served not followed. You will just be surprised why those who were behind you for 30 minutes were served immediately the fact that you have almost the same order.

This is a place I used to visit often years ago. It is nice and clean and has alot of international frwsh produce. This prices are not as cheap as they used to be, but they are still on the lower end compared to normal grocery stores. I love to go here to try new things and they have the very inexpensive fresh Tofu. If you have never been you must go. Its a lil crowded on a weekend butt it is totally worth it!
