This is a place out in the Woodbury, CT rural fields that can hold its own with Whole foods and the "more urban" health food stores and offer perhaps a bit more. For example, you would think that the prices would need to be inevitably higher, but they arent. This is a place for hardcore "health" enthusiasts- those interested in alternative, cleaner, eating lifestyles, as well as homeopathic and natural remedies and preventatives. However, as times continually move forward and progress, no longer is there a need to give up fantastic taste and satisfaction to remain clean and healthy- for example- the juice and coffee bar, prepared foods case and fresh food selection is terrific, all top notch; and the addition of great local and near local products, for example La Palette ham and cheese croissants, or Davidovich bagels- make this a go-to place for everyone- not just the vegan-gluten free set.

Went there because they had some items on sale according to there sales flyer. Dish soap was advertised as $2.79 but the shelf said $2.99, the Hemp seeds were on sale for $5.99 but when I scanned it wasnt on sale and at full price for $9.99. No mentioning about misprints in the store. The lady on the register just looked at me confused and asked if I still wanted it, instead of adjusting the price. Some Bulk food are stale and the spices and teas are so old that they lost color and smell. Unfortunately Food Works in Monroe is not that much fresher but I like the lighter and cozier feel. After the move New Morning just became another Whole food wannabe, even the classes are now $5 instead of free even though most of them just push products they sell downstairs. I guess greed wins over everyone sooner or later.

This place has it all! If you are at all concerned about how your food is grown and what you are putting in your body, you want to shop at this market. There is a full butcher shop, a health and beauty sections, many unique flours and herbs and the largest organic produce section in the area. They also have great prepared foods for healthy eating on the run. As far as the prices are concerned, organics cost more to raise whether we are talking apples, milk or meats. You can spend your money on healthy food now or at the doctors office later.

Their "grass fed" beef and bone marrow come from Laurel Ridge Farm. I bought about a total of 10 lbs between grass fed beef and bone morrow. However, I was not satisfied with way those bone marrow smell (like rotten eggs) despite that "Kevin", works at the meat dept., told me that it was from the latest fresh batch they got from Laurel Ridge Farm. On the same note, the grass fed beef was very maroonish and after being fully cooked, it tasted bloody and was very chewy. Q: Would I recommend this shop for meat? A: NO.

Pricey!!..Pricey!!..Pricey!!...ya know there are a lot of people that would like to eat healthy, but dont have money to burn!!...come on!!..what are you people thinking with your outrageously high prices!!..every single item is like $3.00 dollars more then it should be!!..and the staff gives off a heavy vibe that they are better then you...what a shame!!..it could be such a nice place if it was affordable, and practical enough to be the common folks everyday grocery store..

This is a great store. Lots of great produce, and the prepared food is excellent. New Morning is a great place to go if you are looking to cook a meal yourself, or just grab something to eat at home or on the run. The health and beauty section is terrific too -they have everything from simple everday items to high end cosmetics. The staff is always attentive and helpful. We are lucky to have two great local grocery stores in Woodbury, and New Morning is wonderful.

I do a lot of gluten free and vegan baking, and I went here to get some more obscure flours and vegan butter sticks that arent necessarily at the chain grocery stores around town. Im not a novice when it comes to shopping at health food stores, but oh my, this place has some serious sticker shock. The staff was very helpful and gave me a hand finding the things I needed. However, I had to put some things back on the shelf due to the ridiculous markup.

New Morning has it all (and soon to be expanded in their new space down the road) The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great selection in every department. The soups are Fantastic! baked goods, and prepared foods are thoughtful and flavorful. We drive 30 miles to enjoy a meal and friendly chatter with the other patrons.

I have shopped at New Morning for many years. The staff is always helpful and friendly. It would be naive to think that an independently owned store could compete on price with large national chains(such as Whole Foods and Trader Joes), however, if you are a savvy shopper, there are many great deals to be had.

Are you hippies Nuts? This is not only an overpriced garbage can, but the trustafarian kids that work there stink. Is organic another word for rotten Rotten? What in the world have we done all our lives without this crap? Find another place to shop, I cant believe you shop there thinking its good for you!

This is the best place to eat to support the locals . You exchange kip for coupons . Pay for food with coupons . Order food and find a seat .. they have an expeditor to bring your order .Food is great !!! So many options to choose from. If you are a germ freak .. bring disposables. Otherwise they...

The people who work there are exceptional. Availability of foods super. Convenience for sure. Prices higher than most other places I go. Some produce not move fast enough so it is not fresh. Would love more variety of foods in deli case. Would love smoothies and fresh juices made to order.

Fantastic place to shop and work. This store really creates community both among staff and customers. When my familys house burnt down the whole staff and many customers rallied around and took care of us. Truly a country store that has your back.

Big place. Lots of options. Free samples rock. Prices are higher than other health food stores in CT, but thats normal for the location I suppose. The juice bar and food-to-go is great. They even have a little eating area.

Great little grocery store. They carry organic products and non GMO. If you really care about what you eat/drink buy here. They have a juice bar and a grill as well. Quality costs more be forewarned.

Nice place staff is very helpful. The only negative thing most of the time they are out of stock on the items I shop for . Low inventory so I call ahead to see if items are in store.
