WORST COMPANY EVER. Smug, unhelpful, dont return calls, dont stand behind product. Really a pity as they used to have great reputation; my mother in law bought all her appliances here. Note that **5 OF THE 14 REVIEWS** before mine also give one star so the relatively positive-looking number you see is deceptive. (With my review, that is SIX out of 14 giving 1 star, and that’s only because we can’t give zero. Do you really want to spend good money on such a crap shoot?) If you want more detail as to our experience: Bought expensive dual fuel range from W Hfd store. After a few years needed service; we had crossed wires as to when they were supposed to be here for service and in retaliation they were vindictive and refused to service the stove until I begged and pleaded. It was really bizarre-- like they are some sort of prima donna. Then, before we’d had the range 8 years, the oven died (Christmas eve, of course). Service call, Lavery supposed to fix it when control panel came in the following week. 2 weeks later we hadnt heard anything so we called. They said theyd get right back to us. Hours later, we called again since they had not returned call. Should have known this was not going to go well when first person we spoke with thought our range had *already* been fixed. When we finally got someone who had a clue, he told us the part is no longer made. No apologies or anything—just tough luck. And when were they going to tell us?? Lavery doesnt care about fairness or good will as they refused to refund fee for service call--and please recall we WANTED to have it fixed; its not like WE backed down; rather, THEY couldnt do the job. Truthfully they didnt want to fix it: they told my husband theyd give us a good deal on a new stove (he said wed never set foot in there again). Adding insult to injury: when I went to turn on the gas stove the first time after they left, it wouldn’t work either (before it had just been the electric oven). I was furious, called Lavery, left msg after hours asking them to call me in morning. Then I figured out their repair guy had left the range unplugged. That is not a big deal, to be sure, but unprofessional. More to the point: they did not even bother to return the call EVER—though they DID call and once again offer us a deal on a new stove. Really hard to convey how disgusted we are without using profanities. Starting over from scratch almost one month later (and already having shelled out $100), found a company out of W. Hfd. called ACTION APPLIANCE REPAIR who will send our broken control panel to a company in California that uses it as template to build new one. Service guy super nice and knowledgeable, so fingers crossed.

My Dad arrived for his visit the same day my new Frigidaire Gas Range arrived. I was pleased to inaugurate my beautiful new appliance and cook for my Dad! So far, I LOVE THIS RANGE!!! Thanks for your help Dan, and, btw - the fellas who delivered it were terrific. I hope they deliver my next purchase. They were very careful of walls and woodwork and most pleasant and helpful. They removed a 300 lb 1940 range that was beyond either repair or restoration with no complaint. Great Job. My only suggestion is to have all your delivery people take a few lessons from the ones who delivered my range (please look up their names and extend my compliments to their supervisor). My tenants happy with their new Frigidaire Fridge; and my Frigidaire A/C and dehumidifier are humming along very nicely. Whirlpool french door fridge, a Best Buy, in Consumer Reports, also going well after 18 mos. Havent cooked since my husbands passing -- that;s a while without a working range. Im looking forward to normal meals now! Youve been so patient and helpful. Thanks. Prices beat Holloways, another local appliance department store in Simsbury. Dan Saunders, thank you for YOUR HELP. You did a terrific job understanding my needs and helping me find the range that would be just right for my home. Youve helped me a lot these past 18 mod since my husbands passing. Your advice was spot on. I remain most appreciative.

We purchased a washer and because we have a high drain pipe (6 1/2 ft) this was the first thing we told the salesman. He told us this would not be a problem. The washer came with a standard hose and the delivery man had no information concerning our hook up. He duct taped together a piece of an old hose, and left. The drain leaked water on the first use. After multiple calls, and complaints another service man came and said they should have ordered a longer hose to be attached before delivery. Instead we now have another hose attached with a clamp, which leaked again. We went to SK Lavery as it was recommended for having exceptional service. I am not happy and once this issue gets resolved, if ever, I will buy future appliances elsewhere. I have contacted Speed Queen directly and am waiting for an answer from them as to a solution to this problem. I am disappointed that I have to do this on my own. This is not good service by anyones standards. I am also awaiting a call back from SK Lavery as to how to proceed. Hoping for a resolution soon. Sorry to have had this awful experience.

The in-store service itself was great. Salesperson was knowledgeable, friendly and quickly helped me find the right refrigerator. I was in and out of the store quickly with delivery scheduled for two days later. That part was a 5 star experience. My delivery time slot was 9-1pm. At 1:10pm there was no sign of the truck and no call to give me a reason for the delay. I called the store and was told theyd check with the delivery guys and call me right back. Forty minutes later, no call back and no sign of the truck. I called again and was told the truck was 35 minutes away still with no explanation for the delay. Finally at 230 the truck arrives. Install was fine but afterwards I noticed they did a poor job of removing all the plastic from the outside of the fridge. Delays happen, I get that. But a 4 hour window is pretty large and then not proactively contacting me and not having any explanation for why is inexcusable. Next time I need an appliance Im not sure Ill be willing to waste another full day waiting for a truck.

HORRIBLE! I can not stand this company. I have bought a washer and dryer from them and the installers crushed the vent tube so all the lint blew back into my laundry room. When I called to have them replace it they blamed it on me. I even spoke with the owner and he could have cared less. I then bought a $10K Viking refrigerator (why from them I still dont know) and the installers couldnt even put the handles on so that they were even! I will never buy from them again and I will do my best to make sure no one I know does either. The attitude of the sales staff is rude and uninterested. They act as though you are doing them a favor. Why the good people of West Hartford and surrounding towns continue to buy from them is a mystery. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I have learned my lesson!!
