Quaint, clean settings. Great and fast breakfast sandwiches. Cant beat the breakfast combo deal. Custom, dagwood sized, sandwich creations for lunch named from local landmarks alongside deli favorites. Pete started with 1 local location and has grown into 5 delis locations in the area. I feel his success is based on consistently good fare. Sometimes parking is dicey out front but plenty of parking next door. Could use larger table space here for bigger parties but the historical settings make that difficult.

If youre looking for a quintessential thing to do in Newtown, its a sandwich (breakfast or lunch) from the General Store. Gluten Free options make this a picky eaters watering hole. Not only that, but the history - old newspapers framed on the wall including the day the US declared war on Japan- and shop with cute one-of-a-kind art pieces make this a destination worth travelling to. I no longer live in the area but ALWAYS make time for a sandwich when I visit.

THE BEST SANDWICHES IN TOWN. Check out their specialty sandwich menu. My personal favorite is the "roll me a smoke" wrap, with turkey, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard. They also make a mean breakfast sandwich, and the basic bacon or sausage egg and cheese on a roll is only $1.75 if you go before 11am.
