I will never go to the puppy play time in this store on Sundays anymore. My dog was bullied on more than on one occasion by dogs not being controlled by their owners or the trainer Diane. Yesterday was the final straw. After being humiliated in front of the other pet parents by the trainer Ive decided not to come to this store anymore. My dog deserves to be treated like everyone elses dog and not be told he cant play with toys. The toys are provided by the trainer and every time my dog has a toy another dog tries to steal it from him. Its always the same dog, my dog doesnt want to share it and shouldnt have to. There are plenty of toys provided. This is bullying, plain and simple. It is not playful and my dog has every right to defend himself when he feels threatened. Maybe if Petco hired a trainer that actually moderated the dogs their would be less chaos. Some of the dogs that show up are not spayed or neutered, which also causes problems. The owners need to control their dogs and if they are aggressive they shouldnt be there at all. Sorry Petco you have lost my weekly business, which is unfortunate because I actually like this store. I hope you will look into how your puppy play time is moderated and handled by the individuals involved. Our pets deserve to be in a safe environment. Not in a place where they are continually harassed by other dogs running wild.

The dog training at this Petco is excellent. Last year, our family adopted a young rescue dog. The dog was great, despite living in a crate outside before we adopted her, but she was not well socialized with people or other dogs. We signed up for the adult dog training class with the trainer, Diane. She was great, and at the end of the six week class, the dog knew all the basics and was much more well adjusted. In addition to the classes, what really helped was the Small Breed Social that they have every Sunday. The social is free and its a great place for small dogs to learn to socialize with other dogs and other people. The trainer, Diane does a great job of supervising and making sure the dogs behave themselves. Sometimes she has to step in when a dog is being too aggressive, or starts hoarding toys (If you just want your dog to play with toys, why go to a "social"? They are there to learn how to socialize with other dogs and people. If you just want them to play with toys, why not stay home and play?). Weve met a lot of great dogs and dog owners there too! The staff at this Petco is always very friendly and helpful, and the trainer Dianne is great! I definitely recommend the training and small breed social at the Manchester Petco.

I do not understand Melissas review. 1 review 5.0 star rating 6/26/2016 I LOVE Manchester Petco! My dog was trained there by Diane, who also runs a (free) "small dog social" on Sundays from 3-4, which if you have a small dog is the best ticket in town. My dog is naturally social, but the Sunday event has allowed her to make friends--both human and canine. I have watched with delight as shy, frightened, or formerly abused dogs have come out of their shells, learned to play with other dogs and learned to trust a variety of humans. Its a wonderful service, and I am very grateful to Petco (and Diane) for providing it. The space is large (with plenty of toys), and the dogs have a blast. Now when we go to the bark park, we text, and what a difference it makes when there are dogs there that my dog knows. I also use their grooming services, and Jackson is amazing with the animals. Its the only place I can leave my dog where she doesnt go into panic mode and scream when I leave. I recommend Jackson, Diane, and the Sunday dog group to everyone I meet with a small pooch.

I went In to buy fish, and there were LITTERALLY two employees there. One was an old guy who couldnt walk and the other was an old lady. I asked about fish and they were like oh yea we have no idea, the girl who works that department was supposed to be here an HOUR AND A HALF AGO! So some guy that used to work there years ago walks in and theyre like "he used to work here ask him to help you". So I had someone who wasnt even employed getting me fish.......fish..... I could have done that myself. Then I go to pay and she says oh put your money away, she writes up all these discount and free vouchers but then in the end nothing worked so I had to pay even tho I shouldnt have (I was waiting for about 20 mins at the tanks and no one came to help, I had to wait at the register for about another ten mins just to be told the girl in the fish department isnt there cause she comes in whenever she feels like it). I will never come back. Maybe before you people unlock the doors, make sure your staff is going to show up. Your lucky you got one star.

I have been going to the Petco in Manchester since my dog was in training there as a puppy. Diane, the dog trainer, is such a great, helpful person- both to us humans and especially to our four-legged friends. On Sundays, she hosts a small dog social where a group of small dogs get together in a supervised area and get to play. Come rain, snow, or the hot summer heat, we can always count on our Sunday small dog social to be there for exercise and fun. I always say its my dogs favorite day of the week- and have numerous videos and pictures to prove it! The sheer joy on my dogs face when shes running back and forth with the other dogs there is truly priceless, and I cant thank Diane enough for hosting such a fun, safe group.

Another pet store to buy animal supplies from. Although I would caution people buying animals from any of these big box pet stores. Please do your research first before embarking on purchasing a pet. Some, not all, of the employees know their facts on the animals. I have gone into many of these stores and have listened to what some employees tell prospective pet parents- from inaccurate health information, to wrong cage setups, to wrong pet for child. This Petco seems to be better than some of the other ones that I have frequented. Their animals seem to be well- cared for with the exception of the fish and a sickly looking hamster.

Staff is very unmanaged. It takes calling someone over the intercom anytime you want to get anything and then today I had 2 fish die one before I got home and second within 2 hours of that while the others are still alive. After calling asking if they can do anything the lady said yes no problem at all come down and we will help you. I get down and they tell me they wont do anything now. There have been multiple instance of poor customer service at this location. I will absolutely never shop there or bring any of my pets there again.

Love, love, love the free puppy play on the weekends. I always bring my show dogs as puppies into Manchester Petco because Diana is the best. She really understands dogs and the importance of play between dogs and how they interact together. Ive had three generations of puppies who have looked forward to Petco to play in the puppy area and pick out new favorite toys that they discovered during play with their diverse group of new fur friends. Thanks, Diana and Petco!
