First, the name of this store is Connecticut Wine & Liquor, not Connecticut Economy Liquor (no idea where Google got that). Second, I am Steve the owner and I recall this incident quite well--a new employee took $1000 out of the cash register and ran a customers credit card number multiple times to cover the theft. The credit card company sorted out the problem immediately, the customer wasnt out a penny, but we lost $1000 we could never recover. Most important, I NEVER spoke to the customer as described, and would never speak that way to any customer. In fact, I had no conversation with the customer about this incident at all--it was all handled through the credit card company. (I wish that I had spoken to him, so I could have explained how the store was the actual victim in this incident.). Weve been around for many years, have a large and loyal clientele, and deal with all our customers with courtesy and care. Its absurd to suggest we tried to steal from a customer--how long would we stay in business if we did anything like that? Its also a shame that this poster had to make up a story and accuse us of a crime to vent his frustration at having had to make a simple phone call to his credit card company to resolve a problem. So please ignore the disgruntled posters ridiculous comment--come to Connecticut Wine & Liquor--youll love our great selection of wine, liquor and beer, and love our attentive and polite service.

My daily commute is right past CW&L... so I get most of my spirits and wines from Steve. Ive never had a bad experience with him or his store. I even remember one time where a customer was bargaining that he could get a certain bottle of liquor at another store for much less. If I was the owner I would have said, then go to that store... But Steve price matched for the customer. Ive also gotten several nips for free for being a loyal customer. I will continue to go here and would recommend this place to all my friends.

I have his card around somewhere, & I feel absolutely AWFUL @ forgetting his name (Mgr/Asst?), but I stopped here 4/20/13 along the road while returning home from delivering SEVERELY mishapped passengers to RI from their stay in Chicago, & he was absolutely PHENOMINAL in aiding me make some local selections, to wit (I JUST finished TONIGHT w/loving family): Peller Estates 2007 ICEWINE Cabernet Blanc. 4-5 stars (in this case, well, bottle: 4-5 Maple Leafs) POSTIVELY DELIGHTFUL!Thanks again, CWL!

This place got my credit card number through a legitmate trasaction. No problem, except that he kept it and ran it several more times to the tune of over $1000.00 Tried to explain it to Steve the owner but he told me I was on my own??? Wait til his processing company gets involved. Good Luck Steve. Dont trust em!!

We only stopped here, because our daughter got sick. The staff offered us bags and paper towels and opened the bathroom door for my wife. I cant thank the staff enough for their help.
