Clear theres a trend here of bad reviews. With the competition of a big box retailer like Home Depot less than a mile up the road, youd think they would really make sure theyre customer service was above average? Absolutely not the case! I brought a screen in to be replaced. The frame had fresh coat of paint. Upon picking up, the paint was totally scratched and scuffed. The manager Brenton, even gave me a hard time about it. Extremely rude! I know the whole "customer is always right" thing is sometimes difficult when running a business, but a little politeness, courtesy, and accommodation would have been nice!!! It was like I was insulting them when asking what had happened. The owner Joe is no better. Couldnt be bothered because he was too busy with rentals which are more profitable, according to the woman behind the counter. Apparently I wasnt spending enough money to be bothered with and had no interest in speaking with me. Im all for shop small and spend you money locally, but people like these give the entire small business world a horrible name. Home Depot is 4 minutes up the road and has much lower prices. There is now no reason left to visit this store. If you are considering going here, just read the 6 reviews below mine. Horrible experience!!!!

This place is awful! I rented a karaoke machine for a party. When I signed the contract at the store I initialed in the box that I didnt want the optional insurance but when I looked at the receipt I saw that they charged me for it anyway. The guy wheeled out the heavy cart, which contained everything, to my car and walked away leaving me in the rain to try and load it into the car by myself. When I tried to get the refund for the unwanted insurance the worker seemed confused and offended that I didnt want to pay it and said he didnt know how to refund my money. When he asked his manager the manager said it wasnt optional, even though the contract said it was, and they wouldnt refund my money. Some of the CDs didnt even work for the karaoke machine and the guy didnt even show me how to set it up or use it. I wouldnt do business with these dishonest clowns again.

Very unsatisfied! Will not do business with them again. As a small business owner myself I found the service to be gouging. I rented equipment that requires a pintle hitch. Not having one but being able to rent one or other true value stores have accommodated me with one but here was not the case. The store refused to rent one to me and was a forced sale ( otherwise loosing my deposit). It would have been better if they had told me prior to. I like to do business with other small businesses to keep the community alive but will not be returning to this establishment.

Horrible customer service. Person in the power equipment repair department. I went there to get a new recoil. I had a model number off the machine and the engine but he couldnt be bothered to look it up . I was told I would have to bring the machine in so he can see what type of engine. I googled model number and found out engine type . He couldnt be bothered to do that? I went here to avoid having to go to one of the big box stores. Never again.

I rented an airless paint sprayer form them and could not believe what poor operating shape it was in. Every 5min it would stop spraying and then I would need to prime it and then set it into the spaying mode again. This went on for several hours of work before I stopped, cleaned it and returned it to them. I explained to one of the employees what problems I had with the sprayer and he could care less. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I love City True Value! Diane is awesome always going above and beyond the call of duty. Everyone is so very helpful, and the Rental Section has everything and I mean everything you could possibly need. So forget about the larger home improvement stores... get down to basics and friendly "feel like part of the family" service with City True Value. Kathy :o)

HORRIBLE! They kept $50 of my deposit for "dirty" popcorn machine! We purposely did NOT use the butter - they said it was not cleaned. Really?? It was dusty/dirty from just sitting in the store! This was from a SCHOOL that celebrated student success during testing and during TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!!! real nice! Will not rent from them again!

This Family Run Business is just plain & simple a GREAT place to go for hardware supplies & power equipment they sell,rent & repair it all !! Bill,Joe & Diane have the experience and great customer service to take care of you. MUCH Better than going to a BIG BOX retailer for sure .I Love this place !!!!
