Went to this shop to get a monroe and it was all a total downfall. Since I was a minor at the time I brought a school I.D. in will full name and mayching to my guardians and everything which they ended up denying because my hairstyle differed from the one in the picture. After putting up a fight and multiple attempts to bring in other pieces of identification they finally took me back. The women who pierced me seemed like she knew what she was doing and what she was talking about. She ended up piercing my lip and putting in a rod way too short, too short to allow any swelling and had me on my way. The next morning my face had swelled so much overnight the ball popped off and the rod wouldnt even fit halfway through the piercing. I came to the piercer that same morning and she couldnt admit to her mistake, advising me to let it close and come back so she could charge me full price for another piercing. I left making sure she knew that I would not be returning to her shop again and I planned on fixing things myself. In an hours time she left me multiple phone calls and voicemails begging to lower the price and "to not ruin her rep as a piercer". I ended up fixing the piercing but it still causes me trouble to this day being multiple years old. Ive gotten multiple piercings elsewhere and there are better shops that wont make mistakes or are willing to fix them for free and take responsibility

Every experience at this shop has been superior A+! Cleanliness, professionalism, and artistic genius! Considering how many hours Ive been here in the past few years (45 hours and counting)....Ive earned the opportunity to review and comment with some authority. If you live anywhere in Colorado, its worth the trip....afterall, a tattoo last forever...so quality, care, and experience does matter! A little about me: Im a late bloomer tattoo recipient. ..Meaning, I got my first at over 40, and Im a professional female real estate agent. The best part about the experiences Ive had (and those whom Ive referred) is that the level of professionalism is mind blowing. Plus, the conversations are vastly intelligent, funny, and often I leave with great book titles, documentary and travel recommendations....never a dull moment in the chair here. Fritz really listens at the consult, and if waiting to see the drawing till the appointment concerns you... DONT WORRY... as shocking as this may sound....Fritz always delivers by bringing concepts to life. Its his gift. All of my tattoos are by Fritz, and Im loyal, but Ive had plenty of interaction with Emily (the piercing queen), and Chad whos also an exceptional artist and all around great guy. Everyone has always made me feel at home. My husband and our adult kids both see Fritz loyally as well. Highly recommended!

So I havent gotten a piercing here yet because every time I go, I am turned down. Now.... here is why that is a great thing. The first time my friend and I went, I wanted my belly button pierced and she wanted a tongue piercing. The piercer refused to give my friend a tongue piercing because basically she couldnt give a tongue piercing with a clear conscience since she knows the damage they do to your teeth. That was great and fine so we left and went elsewhere, where they messed up my belly button pretty badly and she got a smiley piercing instead. I went back the other day to this shop to get my belly button RE-pierced and she asked to see it. Upon seeing the scarring, she immediately gave me some great suggestions on how to quickly and safely heal up some of that scar tissue and gave me suggestions on metals that may be suitable for me. She also said she would be more than happy for me to contact her about a month prior to getting my belly button pierced because she would be willing to special order surgical implant grade titanium rings for me. So once again, I was turned down but for a great reason. My health is more important than a new piercing and she is one of the only piercers that I have met, that have that same understanding and will say no to piercing you, for your own health and benefit.

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. I called on a Thursday and asked about any open appointments. I was told that there was an opening Monday but I needed to send what I wanted via email. I did right away and they asked for my phone number to discuss. I sent that right away too. I heard nothing on Friday or Saturday. I called on Monday and the girl I had been talking to said that she needed to show my design to one of the artists. I called three hours later and she said he hadnt had a chance to look at it because a walk in took up his time. She said that there was no way they could fit me in to MY appointment spot and they would call back with a price and availability. That was a week ago. I havent heard from them. They must have too much business to be worried about new clients. I went to Faith in Golden and was greeted with kindness and enthusiasm. I cant comment on the quality of work that Alternative Arts provides andI never will. They should fire their receptionist.

Went in to pre-scheduled appointment, waited for about 45 minutes before being seen.. guy drew a pretty sweet bird freehand which was great - but didnt tattoo it so well. Came out with uneven lines and a huge hole in the middle (and yes I followed the instructions for healing)... Instead of going home excited I went home kind of deflated, which is a first - I have many tattoos and loved them all immediately and am not generally dissatisfied with much, im pretty easy going. I called them to get it fixed and the customer service was lacking - basically they told me that theyre booked out for months and the person was a bit snide because I didnt remember the persons name. Major bummer, now I have to pay more money to other shops to get this fixed. Going in for the 2nd round of the fixing of this tattoo this weekend. Why treat customers like that? : (

Customer service sucks! I went in one day to chat with an artist. He was snippy and had an arrogant attitude about him. My boyfriend and I described what we wanted and he said he would do his and recommended someone else for mine. Before we left he told us to send in an email with reference photos and another description. My boyfriend sent the exact same description to the same guy with the photos that were on his phone. I sent mine after having to scan in and upload sketches. A week went by and we never heard from them. So on my day off I decided to stop by. I only asked if they had received our emails and the artist started going off about how busy he is and that he opened mine just hadnt gotten to it. So I said, "okay Ill wait." And left. That was well over a year ago and neither one of us ever heard back from any of the artists...

I went to a dozen different tattoo parlors in Charlotte before finally deciding upon Alternative Arts. I felt welcomed there whereas many of the other places I walked into (Im not going to name names) were extremely rude and had horrible attitudes. The Artists at Alternative Arts however were very welcoming and accepting and respectful. I felt comfortable there. I got a Tattoo from the renowned Artist Andrew Black. He did a fantastic job with my tattoo, he took his time on it and it turned out great. Thank You. I highly recommend anyone seeking a high-quality tattoo to go to Alternative Arts, you wont regret it. Moritz-Alexander Huber aka Burrrt
