Frank quoted me $79.99 for a battery + installation over the phone. It was a better price than my local shop so I made the extra drive. I was pleasantly greeted by a tall man. I do not remember his name. He had his technician double check that I did indeed need a new battery. I did so the tall man directed me to go into the office and speak with Frank. Frank then gave me a price of $84 and some odd change for a battery b/c the battery currently in my vehicle was larger than the previously quoted $79.99 battery. When I explained I drove extra for a better price and asked he honor the $79.99 he would not budge. I asked if the smaller $79.99 battery would work in my vehicle and if so, why is there a larger battery in there currently if the smaller one will do the job. Frank hesitantly said the smaller battery would work but had no knowledge nor could he explain why I currently had a larger battery installed. I still do not have confidence that the smaller battery will work. I expected him to know his product & make me feel good about my purchase. Then my tie downs were corroded so instead of replacing them, the tech just let the new battery flop around. Not entirely his fault b/c he did bring this to Franks attention. Frank had no clue that Sears had new tie downs available so I asked him to put my old battery in and I would go to a shop that could properly install a new battery and tie downs. Finally the tech showed Frank that Sears does sell new tie downs. The tech only installed the front tie down (which was the worst), couldnt be bothered with replacing the back as well. Lastly, the tech had sprayed a brown substance along w/ the crystals from the corrosion all over then engine compartment, all over the passenger side of the wind shield and front quarter side panel of my vehicle. No one offered to clean this up so I had to do it myself when I got home with rubber gloves and a bucket. No pride in workmanship was exhibited and no concern of returning my vehicle to me the way they received it had crossed Franks mind, the tall mans mind or the techs mind. They all three were just fine with me driving off with a mess all over the front passenger side of my vehicle. I guess they just expected me to go pay $6.00 (minimum) for a car wash. Can’t imagine why they wouldn’t clean up my vehicle but I was too worn down by that time to ask yet again for them to do their job. Terrible, terrible customer service.

I will never shop here again!!! The refrigerator that we have had for the previous 10 years broke recently so we ordered a new one from Sears. While the Salesmen werent to bad, the delivery service was a complete embarrassment to the company. First of all, they ended up bringing the fridge 5 whole days after they said they would. Second, on the new promised delivery day, they told us that they would come anytime from 2-4 p.m. They called our house and woke us up at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning to tell us instead that they would come between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. They werent there until 3:30. Since the new supposed delivery time didnt fit my schedule my teenage son had to miss his swim practice to stay at home and open the door for the delivery men. Needless to say, that effort was in vain and my son was home for no reason. But it gets worse, the wimpy delivery men came to our house and said that the driveway was to snowy and would violate their "rights to safe working conditions". The driveway and steps were shoveled and salted so there was almost no ice except for a small patch here and there. But because they were such pansies, they simply rudely left unconditionally and didnt even apologize. When I called them saying that I would send to their supervisor a picture of what they consider "unsafe", they offered to come back later that day after their other scheduled deliveries were done. No surprise, they never showed up so I ended up canceling the purchase and had to shove all of my groceries in a mini fridge for another week. I wasted so much time dealing with them that I felt it was worth it to take the time to write this to save people the hassle of dealing with these incompetent people. If youre looking for appliances, go to appliance factory outlet, their service is better and on time. That is ultimately what we settled on doing and it worked out fine.

Worst customer service! When you actually do get somebodys "help" it makes things more difficult than before because they honestly dont know what they are selling or how to fix any problems on the floor. I was looking for a tv and had some questions about a few of them. Step 1: find someone that can help. This step is impossible since, according to everyone I asked, there is only one person who knows the tv section. Ok ok, Step 2: get answers to questions. Well the "one guy who knows the tv section" didnt know anything. Regurgitating what you read on the card in front of the tv is not answering my questions. I know the tv is LED, and has 1080 resolution and how large the screen is; I can read, thank you. Questions about a feature on a tv were many times answered with "Oh I dont know, try another Sears." Seriously? I doubt I ever step foot in Sears again, let alone to ask a seemingly simple question to someone less informed than myself. Step 3: finding the price. NOTHING in this store is properly priced, maybe so they can pull something over on you, I dont know, but the tv I liked couldnt be priced and since there was no tag up for it the amazing employees here simply could not price it. No searching a computer, no pricing gun, nothing could be done. I was asked if I would like a manager, so I said yes. Who approaches but the "manager" who says only one person knows the tv department. At this point I left and will not return to this store. I was planning on doing a wedding registry here, glad I went in before I set anything up, horrible.

Absolutely terrible experience today! Walked in the store for a couple items while there I seen a good deal on a set of Fluke SureGrip Test Leads. At the check out I was told I could not buy them, called over a manager and they promptly took them and said they where not for sale. All my knowledge shows they are not subject to recall. they had the SureGrip logo. Only sets recalled is as follows from Flukes web site: Sold at: Home and hardware stores and electrical distributors nationwide from December 2002 through March 2004. The leads sold individually for about $18. Fluke multi-meters and accessory kits containing these leads sold for between $45 and $450. My best guess why they wouldnt sell them is because Sears is over their head in value. Another words they have less merchandise then what they owe to there suppliers. Its said to see an old american business go down hill but buyer beware when shopping at a store thats guaranteed to go out of business. After all Kmart who owns Sears did file for chapter 11 Bankruptcy some time ago making them the largest US retailer to ever file chapter 11. So again buyer beware! Here is something from USA Today: Sears, an iconic department store chain whose name is as steeped in Americana as apple pie and Levis jeans warned that it might be going the way of the blue light special, uncertain that it can survive more than another year in the midst of the upheaval that has disrupted the retail industry.
