Five Stars. I came here a year ago, and made a point to come back again the next time I found myself in Colorado Springs. I forgot how great this place is! Firstly, it is important to note that I am from Kansas City and have been to countless coffee shops. In my opinion, customer service begins when customers enter the door, and ends when they leave. I cannot tell you how many shops I have entered where they greet you, serve your coffee, then call it good. Switchback, on the other hand, greeted me when I stepped in the front door, and a polite young woman placed a glass jug of water and two glasses on my table for myself and my girlfriend within 15 seconds. Everyone who I interacted with was so incredibly kind, and the menu features the perfect balance of your basic coffee and espresso drinks (also including chai tea, matcha tea, and kombucha) and a food/pastry portion of the menu with plenty of unique and exciting options. I got a Cortado and it was incredible - served with a side of club soda on top of a solid piece of wood. The space is lively, but relaxed, with plenty of seating to fit your needs. Natural light pouring through the facade and upper windows lining the walls allow for indoor plants to cascade down the walls, providing a beautiful and natural feel with the white walls and wood accents and furniture. If youve read this whole thing, then great! All you really need to know is that this shop is great and you should most definitely find your way here if you ever find yourself in Colorado Springs.

I am giving it the rating of 2 stars because of the fact that I like some of the people. Its bustling always, it seems, which is a good sign. But I find it frustrating that they offer no options and no apologies for that. They offer only simple syrup for their coffee (I like raw sugar) and when I ask for raw sugar they never fail to mention the simple syrup is made with that and that is the only option. And when I say I dont like to water down my coffee I always get a look of disgust (with the exception of Bri). We also brought a friend in who is happy to spend several dollars a cup for pour over, but when he requested one of the other roasts instead of what they like to make it with, they turned him down. They need to give people options! They take a lot of pride in their coffee and thats awesome, but I wish it felt like the customer (who likely has distinct tastes) has a say in their finished cup of coffee.

This place truly has great coffee. You can count on them making every beverage with care. Their avocado toast is VERY good, but you need to arrive early to get it. It can be frustrating at times because they dont seem to be prepared in terms of staggering their avocados and predicting when they will be ripe. I would say they are out of avocado 50% of the time, which is a problem considering that it is an ingredient in more than half of their food options. To reiterate, great coffee and great light food, I only wish they were more prepared in terms of ingredients!

Really good food & Really good coffee, and mostly good vibes. We frequent fifty fifty with great experiences. Recently our visits have been ruined by the super sour attitude of a short dude who sounds like Kermit the frog. Think his name is Steven? Super rude and FRIED my tongue with his cappuccino (NEVER happens there). He visibly sucks the good energy out of his surroundings and radiates negativity with his fart face. Hoping this is only temporary and we can get back to good energies in there.

I was there to meet somebody for the first time and we both ordered drinks. I had coffee and I dont know what my date ordered. The guy behind the counter said it was six and some change. I gave him a ten and he put the ten in the drawer and slammed it shut. I didnt ask him about my change ( shouldnt have to) but it left me hating on the place. I figure he needed some extra tip money for the day to pay for school. I hope hes taking math classes this summer.

Mellow vibe, little bit trendy and expensive. Good breakfast sandwich. This was my first visit, picking up a bagel breakfast sandwich and iced coffee on the way to work. Coffee was very smooth and had great subtle flavors. The egg sandwich was quite good. I will stop in again. The business is an asset to the neighborhood. I really enjoy the older neighborhoods, and finding a local place where people can walk in and sit at a patio is nice.

Switchback is a great place to get your morning coffee! It definitely has the local neighborhood vibe. Great place to have coffee with friends or get some work done. I have not had the break fast yet but it looks delicious. The employee are welcoming and very friendly. Its the only coffee shop Ive ever been where they bring you water while youre sitting around doing work or hanging out. Big thumbs!!!

Not for super-tasters. The coffee is bitter and burnt tasting. The patio and vibe is nice though. The avocado toast was amazing the first time I ordered it but since then they can never get the eggs right. Ive asked for over-medium (runny yolk, firm white) but they come over hard and cold...after 3 times of unsatisfactory eggs, I give up. They have also reduced the amount of avocado per order.

I love the location, the staff, and the decor. There is lots of seating and the minimal, hip design is great! I love the amount of light here. I feel fresh and clear just sitting sipping coffee at Switchback. I admit Im old-fashioned and like chocolatey coffee, versus their currently cool bitter/sour/fruity coffee. But the selections of drinks, tasty treats, and breakfast items are quite good.

This place was fabulous. We got an iced chai and cappuccino -- the cappuccino beat any available in Boulder where we are coming from. The chai was fantastic too but very spicy - almost black peppery. Not my kind of thing so I wouldnt get it again; but damn --- the cappuccinos!!!! Also the space was beautiful and the service was excellent.

I met one of the owners of Switchback Coffee Roasters while I was working at Porch Culture Coffee Roasters. It was great to meet him and it was a blast comparing coffees! When visiting Colorado Springs, Ive stopped by Fifty Fifty Coffee House to pick up some bagged coffee. Its always been very tasty! Keep up the good work!

In Colorado Springs, youll want to stop here. They have trendy, friendly, helpful staff. Relaxed, clean, comfortable atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating, all inviting. Coffee is fantastic with many options including a Nitro Cold Brew. They offer real, homemade treats. I definitely recommend this stop on your travels.

Im so impressed! It feels like Im back in trendy, talented Austin, Tx. The food is gorgeous. The avocado toast was beautifully crafted with an incredible sauce. The pastries are real and beautiful. The coffee drinks are fancy. We didnt even break the bank! The deco is on point modern and classy. Love it

Great coffee shop! Even better that its walking distance from the house. Their regular drip coffee is perfect drinking temperature. They even have some vegan pasties that are pretty dang good! Very friendly staff that doesnt mind chatting for a moment and the prices are friendly too.
