I never write reviews, but it is definitely warranted and dont mind having my name attached. I called this eye care place over a month ago to get six months of contacts because my insurance is changing soon and I have not used my benefit this year yet. The first time I called, I spoke to a Megan who picked up the phone. She told me that she would order my contacts for me. She started to give me the run around. She says I see you have X insurance and your prescription does run out soon, but its your choice to use your insurance to get your contacts if you want before then. I didnt say this but of course I know its my right to use my insurance because I pay for vision insurance every year and been in glasses/contacts since age 9. I told her I was almost out of contacts and wanted to use my benefit. She said no problem, Ill order your contacts. I didnt hear from her or anyone in two weeks. I call again just this past Saturday and not sure who the girl was that I spoke to and she told me no your contacts never got ordered. She says they will def get ordered Monday and yep your insurance will cover them 100% of the cost. I call back Tuesday to see if they got ordered. I now speak with a Alan. He says oh it shows you have not paid for them yet. At this point, I am extremely annoyed. I tell him I have called 3x now. And I know my insurance covers it all since I know my benefits and it was confirmed by the last girl. He tells me he will call me back to sort everything out. He calls me back leaves a message and says I see your prescription runs out in a month so we are going to give you a trial pair and you can get new ones then. I call back and ask him to please for the third time order 6 months of contacts like I have asked three times now. Again, he says he will order them. He also said their system was down and thats why they never got ordered. How is your system down for a month and how is that an excuse for absolutely terrible customer service? How is it each person was able to pull up my chart and see my insurance. And lastly how is it each person lied and said they would be ordered? I am calling back Monday and each day after to make sure my contacts are ordered. Ive never had issues with an eye place before until coming here. I can use my insurance as I please and extremely annoyed with the lack of customer service Ive got from this place. Stay away!

My eye doctor (Gene Johnson) sold his practice to Abba Eye Care. Not wanting to change doctors (he is excellent), I made an appointment. On the positive side, their equipment and technology are excellent. Very impressive, the latest and greatest. Dr. Johnson is still terrific. On the negative side, Im guessing that their optometrists (who help you choose glasses and write up your order) likely work on commission. It felt like such a hard sell to me. I know my eyes have special needs, progressive trifocals, transition lenses, etc. But when he dropped the bomb "That will be $745 after your insurance" on me, I said thank you. Thats quite a bit more than I expected. Please give me my prescription instead... he told me I could go sit over in the other waiting area and they would call me when I could check out. Suddenly, so much less friendly. I went to Costco this weekend, ordered frames I loved. Still with progressive trifocals, still with transitions, blue light protectant (free here, $40 extra at Abba), scratch guard, the thinnest lenses available (same as Abba). They dont take my insurance at all there, but suggested I send them my bill for reimbursement. Total... $269.00. Yeah.

So, after waiting 10 minutes on hold, I had to hang up. When I called back and waited a record 25! minutes on hold I was sure they had forgotten I was there. Only when I called back for the third time that day, and refused to wait on hold again, was I able to make an appointment for my son and I. Now Im at my appointment, that was scheduled for 3:45 with my son who was scheduled for 4:30. It is now 4:50 and we have yet to see the doctor. I had to have someone else pick up my kid to drop him here, as not to be late. Ridiculous that I could have picked him up with time to spare. I had to make other arrangements to get here on time; the staff could make some effort to at least be close to appointment times. After the whole "on hold" situation, I was ready to move clinics. I decided to come back only because my frames are on the second year. When my insurance covers new frames next year, we are so out of here. Way to go ABBA...you just lost yourself three clients.

Dr. Johnson is a great doctor, and my experience with the rest of the staff was pleasant as well. They are very kind. Sadly, this place runs its operations poorly. I checked in for my appointment perfectly on time, and patiently waited to be seen. I sat in the waiting room for over 50 minutes before I was taken back, then another 30 minutes before I was finally seen. I understand that things get quite busy, and dont mind patiently waiting for 15 or even 20 minutes to be attended to, but any more than that is absurd. My 1.5 hour wait for what should have been a 20 minute appointment is absolutely ridiculous.

Poor. Dr. Gene Johnson is an excellent eye doctor, but the service I received from Abba Eye Care is horrible. I had a contact lense order cancelled because I was unaware that my contact lense prescription had expired. Three weeks after I placed my order, no once called or emailed me to let me know. I will not be returning to this office for any treatment in the future. Sorry, Dr. Johnson. Thank you for the last 7 years, and I wish you the best :-)

Its sad to see so many negative reviews about this place because I had a great experience! When I walked in the ladies at the front were very welcoming and friendly. Plus Dr. Johnson and his nurse were so nice and easy going! And I was able to order my contacts with Natalie who explain all of my insurance and discount options! Im definitely going back to buy glasses soon! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an eye doctor!

I had the best experience at this office. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Allen helped me pick out a pair of glasses that I am actually excited to pick up. Thank you to everyone at Abba!

Terrible optometrist. Do not recommend this practise at all to anyone. Specially for kids, this office is all about earning money. Very unprofessional office manager. Horrible
