BEWARE of pricing games! My wife likes a certain kind of Swiss cheese that is available in most grocery stores in Southern California. I wished to get her a whole wheel of this kind of cheese as a gift. I went to The Pavilions and asked the price per pound of the cheese. After asking his manager, the clerk quoted me a price of $8.99 per pound. Not bad. I asked if there was a discount or extra charge for a whole wheel, half wheel, or quarter wheel. I was told that the price was the same: $8.99 per pound. Period. As there are several large grocery store chains in my area, I went to three other stores and compared their prices with The pavilions. The prices varied but all were at least a dollar or two over the quoted $8.99 per pound at The Pavilions. So I returned to The Pavilions and said that I wanted or order a whole wheel. I was told that that was no longer an option and that the price was $12.99 per pound. I asked why the price changed over the 45 minutes between the $8.99 quote and the present. I got a shrug and an explanation that the clerk (and, presumably, the person he “checked with” were MISTAKEN!” I was told that sometimes this kind of cheese “goes on sale for a lower price” but that this is not one of those times. Today it’s $12.99 per pound take it or leave it. Fair enough. Their store, their rules. I’m fine with that. But that means I won’t be shopping there as much as I normally do. My money, my rules. I would prefer to pay a bit more and not get jerked around by funny-pricing games. I reached out to Safeway/Vons/Pavilions and provided them an opportunity to address my concerns and also gave them a copy of what I planned to post. I received a robo reply that said someone will contact me. That never happened, so I presume they agree with my analysis here. Theyre making money and it seems they dont much care about their customers.

The Food: The food here is very good. The pastrami literally breaks into a billion pieces as soon as you put it in your mouth. The flavor is so subtle and juicy, it literally melts. I got the number 19, which is the pastrami sandwich with cole slaw and Swiss cheese on rye bread. I got two Latkas with cream and apple sauce, and the pastrami chili cheese fries. The sand which was awesome, the cole slaw was amazing! Creamy cold and crunchy, perfectly complimenting the flavors. The latkas were deep fried to perfection. And the chili cheese fries were huge! Like super huge! Had to take left over home. The location: its located in the center of west la, on Wiltshire. Traffic and parking can be a little tough but they have their own parking area wth validation. The restaurant is clean and nice. The Service: as we walked in we were asked how big our party was. I was with my mom so just two. I was afraid it would take forever to get seated because the place was packed! But after a few minutes we were seated and promptly someone came over to take our drink order. The Service was nice, the lady was very attentive, refilled my drink and my mom coffee with out even asking, she just knew, and it was seamless, I didnt even notice it got refilled until she brought it food! Amazing! The food was starved relatively quickly and once youre done you go to the front and pay there. Pavilions is best.

First. Who likes to shop in a store with homeless walking around? Second. Why the fish looks so bad on Monday and the meat selection so poor? Thank god for the great selection of organic veggies and produce. Third. The cashiers and employees look miserable and are rude most of the time. When you ask for extra help by putting your groceries in the right bags (your bags) there is no communication so the job is poorly done. You end up to do it yourself! After spending so much for so long in this store I decided to shop somewhere else until someone is cleaning this mess.

Pretty generic Asian supermarket, and pretty cheap too I think! They had everything I was looking for and Im super glad I found a nice Asian supermarket to fill my vegetable and noodle needs! I will be frequenting here. Its nice and close to the B/D subway too, which makes it even more convenient!

This is the only Vons/ Pavilions market left for miles around. I wish I had one closer to home. They have a great selection of fresh baked bread, cheese, olives and wine. Good savings if you are a member are also appreciated.

Great store, not that great prices. I always double check the prices here since not once they put a label of price which was little over the average. The market itself is great, clean and they know how to speed the checkout.

So excited that this store opened just a couple blocks from my apartment!They have everything that whole foods would offer at a better price, and I can walk there. Thats what Im talking about!

Clean store and friendly staff. The Panda Express was recently closed and it looks like they are building something new in its place. The Starbucks is staffed by a very nice crew as well.

Its an alright shopping center. However the parking lot is insane here. Almost got hit one time. Also decent selection of groceries.

Decent place to buy flowers, definitely cheaper than Ralphs. Their bakery is hit and miss depending on who is working that day.
