I recently purchased an item at this location, and was talked into purchasing their 2 year warranty. The salesperson informed me that if I purchased the warranty, and if something later went wrong with the product, I could bring it back and exchange it for a new model. Well, the item broke and I took the item back on Friday. I gave the product and warranty receipt I received to the saleperson, who told me to go retrieve a replacement off the shelf. After retrieving a replacement, I was told I had to wait in another line for a rapid replacement person. I waited...and waited... Finally, the salesperson told me to sign a piece of paper. I asked what it was for. He told me it was to order my refurbished replacement unit, which I would receive in a few days. Stop the press...Older, refurbished unit? Thats not what was told to me when I bought the product. The the salesperson retrieves some manual and proceeds to read to me the rules of the warranty replacement program. Hmmm. Told him I never received such a manual from the salesperson who sold me the warranty. Didnt matter. Asked for the manager. Spoke to Max, who stood his ground and refused to replace the product with a new one or give me a refund. I asked to speak to someone above him. Max gave me a telephone # to call. Called the number and was transferred 6 times, to find out there is no one who can help for this situation. Advised Max, who was smug and seemed to be enjoying the frustration he was putting me through. Needless to say, Best Buy lost my business and I will never purchase another item from this retailer, who is now closing 40 stores (wonder why). I would advise anyone who is purchasing their warranty to get the real details before doing so.

Note: It really is hard to rate these big chain stores. The service from one to another has to be a big difference to really matter. And the turn over of staff is high. So sometimes the reviews arent fair. So Ill let you, the reader, decide. I was in the area one day and decided to go in because I had been looking into exchanging my iPad case for another color. Online it said that it was available here so I was excited! I even waited 15 minutes for them to open up. Went in and like other Best Buys the floor plan is completely different. I went to ask where they kept iPad cases and started to look for the case. Couldnt find one so I asked the CSR. He couldnt find one in stock and I got the, "Yeah, whats online sometimes doesnt apply to whats in the store." Then whats it good for? I didnt say that but I was pretty disappointed. I gave this store an extra star because the CSR was helping a gentleman before me who was a technophobe and the guy in blue was being real patient with him.

UPDATE: I had rated them with one star, but Best Buy surprised me by crediting my account for the entire $35 & change order for an item that was out of stock but that I had paid for. It was a pleasant surprise and makes up for the mistake where I purchased five SD cards and returned one as defective to the Vallejo store. They were supposed to mail it to me as they didnt have it in stock. A few weeks later I started complaining about it. Apparently they completely ran out of the item without letting me know--an item I had already paid for. When employees repeatedly told me over the phone that they couldnt even refund the money without my coming in and that a manager would call me back and one never did, I complained further, including here and eventually with the BBB. It was some trouble, and while I did want the card, I also appreciated and was mostly more than satisfied with their response of not only crediting me for the one card but also for the rest of order, about $7 apiece.

Best Buy needs to take lessons from Nordstrom if they would like to keep their stores open. Customer service is key and its easy money if there are educated, engaging employees. I called in and NO ONE answered the line after it rang for 3+ minutes. Ive been in a few times and was able to get what I wanted because I researched and knew what to look for in tech equipment. Oddly, one of my larger purchases this year I was assisted by a very helpful employee who later told me that he was part of appliance. I commend him for his willingness and his seeing the purchase through. The Samsung rep was very nonchalant at best with no customer service demeanor or enthusiasm. If youre in service, fake til you make it....your employees are the biggest factors to the customer experience.

When calling to speak with sales representative to inquire about any product, the person usually does not know the answer or they will transfer the call. At this point it takes forever for someone to pick up. Youre more than likely to have better service if you drive to the store and deal with parking. Once in the store I usually get directed to another representative only to get a half answer or find your product is not available!!! I recommend you do your own research before relying on any representative here. I have found maybe one rep to be helpful and thats if the person is still there. If you need something right away, let this place be your last resort.

I spend a lot of time there. I threatened to bring in my own mattress. Seriously most all the "Blueshirts" are very knowledgeable. The Samsung guys are disappointing and mostly uninterested.. The regular BestBuy phone dudes are good. I wish I could remember the names. Richard on the Geek Squad. Carlos (Ithink) on the phones, and I was recently impressed with the auto guys who got my Bluetooth in anchient stupid Lexus connected. I think they are mostly amazing service-wise. Product wise I am also happy with choices. All are polite. Samsug 4 s and HTC one user, plusSsmsung pad and HP laptop and Sony computer.
