Very disappointed. I have one software that is used for mixing music. The author of the software says that it works best if my PC has 16 GIG of RAM. So, I went in to talk about how much it would cost to do that as well as having them do a tune up to help my PC run faster. When I brought up the need for RAM, instead of just giving me a price, the guy says, "Well, does it run OK with the RAM you already have"? If it was running fine with what I had I would not have gone in to ask for the upgrade. Shoulnt it be the case that when a customer asks for something that whatever that is they go ahead and do it? We talked about the tune up and I said I would bring my PC to him. I was somewhat put off that he gave me a hassle about what I wanted (The additional RAM Memory) s I ended up not going back. Now I find out that I need ASIO drivers installed. I do not know how to do that properly, so I went back there to ask if they could do that. Today I was waiting and he helped at least one or two customers who came in after me. I was standing at the counter the whole time directly in front of him. A lady came in after me and he yet once again went up to her to help her. When I said, "Excuse me, I have been waiting here for 20 minutes ", he says "I have helped you two orb three times and you never brought your computer in". So, I guess he gets offended or something with no consideration that something else might have come upm for me that day that needed my immediate attention! So, BE CAREFUL, I guess if he helps you and you dont bring him your computer he will just ignores you without saying anything. Is that a good way of doing business or not? Despite any other good reviews, be careful that this owner will turn on you if you dont end up hiring him to do work for you. Who taught this guy about good customer service? BE WARNED !!!!

Ive come here a few times for different things. My over all feeling is that they are incredibly disorganized, slow, and over priced. They might be fine for picking up a cable but dont leave your stuff there. They say they will call you when they are done working on your computer (or hard drive or whatever). They have NEVER called me back. I have had to call them every time and then they give a completely false estimate of time. When I initially dropped of my hard drive they told me it would be done in 3-5 days (which felt long for the very simple problem I had). I called more than a week later as I hadnt heard back from them. They told me I needed to bring in another hard drive to copy my data to. I did. They said it would take a few hours. I came back many days later and it still wasnt done. They again said it would be an hour or two and they would call me. They never called. I had to call them again. They charged me $120 for 2 hours work... of which Ill guess they were mostly passively waiting for files copy. They are beyond messy and disorganized with computer, papers, and boxes haphazardly piled everywhere. I took a picture I was so shocked. Many of the used computers they sell seem very over priced. I considered buying one until I saw that I could get a brand new slightly better computer for the same price (or pay a little more and get a massively better new computer). They have a good location if you are walking from downtown Berkeley. Parking is terrible. Customer service wasnt the worst but wasnt great either.

I had to make a choice between getting my computer repaired locally or shipping it to my regular guy in socal. I chose local because I thought i could save on shipping costs. BIG MISTAKE. it took them a week to get rid of a simple virus, could not recover any software or reload office (after I paid an OUTRAGEOUS $150). And what is worse, I came hope to turn on my computer only to see that I am faced with a system reboot menu because the last startup failed. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? WHAT THE ****** DID I PAY FOR? The biggest indicator that trusting these guys was a bad idea was the fact that the pc repair guy had to look down at the keyboard to type when he was entering my info into their system.

I was delighted to discover this business. I was having a host of problems with my PC and no luck with tech support. I looked around for repair services and they all had long waits. I dropped my computer off at Used COmputers and they fixed it while I was at lunch, and charged me half of what i had been quoted elsewhere.. They also provided cheerful and honest advice ("Were out of stock, you can get that anywhere and install it yourself") when I called with a hardware question today. So I think this is a great place to get technical help with your PC, Im really glad I know about it.

Go somewhere else... anywhere else! These guys are dumb, careless, and rude. They put my hardrive in the recycling bin and lost it for over 48 hours, then when they found it (by some act of God) after scaring the crap out of me, they wanted me to pay full price for the data transfer! UHH! If you go here make sure to pick up your computer quickly so they dont recycle it! I live in SF and trying to get them to call me back about it being ready was a NIGHTMARE! 11 calls made, 2 returned by them. Like I have nothing else to do with my day...

I recently ran into a PC nightmare and I found the computer geeks on staff to be very helpful. I guess the prices may be a bit higher than some of the box places but the service and selection absolutely make up for it. The people that work at this store are exactly who youd want to talk to if you are having a computer problem. Im glad I found a place like this close to campus. Many of the components they carry are things you wont find at other places.

I bought a refurbished desktop computer from here last week. It is running great and for the price I paid I couldnt beat it. The staff was very patient with me and explained the pros and cons of each model and helped me find the perfect balance between power and price. Ive been coming here for a while for various computer supplies and although their selection is a little limited and not that of radio of shack the prices are quite reasonable.

Yes, prices are high but there the closest place in downtown Berkeley. Good for when you need a cable or adapter. Always been treated fairly and had no problem returning an external DVD-ROM when it didnt work. Ive bought numerous cables, adapters and even a used computer and monitor there once. Theres always Frys Electronics for cheaper prices but then you have to go all the way to Concord.

Its like someone who scavenges the streets all day for derelict computers and trash started a store. Prices are criminally high place is run by buffoons. "Hey man, weve got a deal today on this almost new 486 machine, comes with a 14.4 baud modem, 30MB hard drive, 8MB of ram for only $400- and because I like you Ill even throw a zip drive in for $20....plus assembly fees..."
