Be sure to watch the fabric when its being cut, I have more often than not be sold short cuts. If you are buying exactly what you need for a project and then go home to find you are short 2 inches its really time consuming and annoying to have to go back and purchase more. This means the store is making money from fabric you didnt get. I need to remind myself to watch and measure prior to making my purchase as I have been shorted very often. We dont have any other options for fabric and notions and need to be careful . buyer beware should not be the policy. I think this stems from the fact that the workers are not sewing, they are just people hired to sell merchandise and have no understanding of what they are doing.

Ive been to many Jo-Ann Fabric locations from Nebraska to California. The Thousand Oaks, California location has had by far the best selection of decorating fabrics (drapery, bedspread and light upholstery fabric is what I was shopping for). I found good quality, good value, and a wide selection in stock, as well as a wide selection available for special order. I found the trims to be limited, but the fabric made it worth the trip to this store even if I went to another location for trims.

We had a truly terrible experience here, thanks to night manager "James" who managed to loudly accuse us (in front of our daughter) of lying about the price of a piece of yarn (we were correct but another clerk had misplaced the items), then made sure we had to wait in line again just to get our refund. It boggles the mind that a store such as Jo-Anns would hire an angry man like that.

This is the art store that is close to home so it would be the go to place for the area to go to. I tend to walk around and see what they have available so when I decide on a project I know whats available. We came here to buy shirts before for a shirt project.

A larger, well stocked fabric store with a decent sized baking section and quite a bit of crafting materials, too. Also always have a large selection of discounted holiday decor. Everything you need for kids school projects, too.
