I called Petco in Santa Rosa this morning on Memorial Day to see if they were open and theyre grooming services were available. The gentleman who answered the phone said that all of their appointments were already taken up but walk-in Services were still available. I asked him if nail trimming is included in their walk-in service to which he replied yes and then i asked if I came in soon if I would be able to be seen quickly he said yes turnaround time for that is very prompt. The phone call ended there. He did not ask me if I was a first-time customer and did not inform me that I needed to bring any paperwork. When I arrived he informed me that I needed to have my dogs rabies papers. I would have been happy to bring any needed documentation if I had been informed that it was necessary, but unfortunately I drove all the way down for the same young man, Alan, to inform me of this and then expect me to leave, drive all the way back to my house, and bring it back. On top of this the young man offered me absolutely no apology for neglecting to inform me of the stores policies when I called before coming in, and even more so implied it was my fault for "forgetting" to mention Id never been there before. When I told him that I felt like this was a very disrespectful waste of my time I was given a simple this is our policy and this is all I can tell you : no apology no sense of condolence for the complete disregard for my time. Why would a return customer inquire about available services? This all could have been avoided if he has said one simple thing. All this negativity could have been avoided had he offered any sense of remorse for my time being wasted due to his negligence. I felt entirely disrespected and I hope that that young man will be taught better customer service.

I dont have anything against my local store, but I dont have high expectations for a corporate place. My main concern is with the website. Being in business so long, they have good prices online for popular brands. I mean, pay $20 for my dogs toothpaste on amazon or pay $11? However, whenever I order online, they do a horrible packaging job. I did a fairly large order this time and there was the brown paper packing material, but my box wasnt stuffed with it. So the 2.5 fish tank I ordered was clearly bouncing around the box. All products are in their original packaging you would get at the store, so the fish decor packages were torn open and the cardboard box holding everything was scrapped from the inside from the mess. Part of me is saying, "You took the risk to ordering a plastic fish tank online..." Then there is the part of me who use to ship products herself saying, "They are selling the fish tank online, they should know how to properly package one for the bumpy ride." That would include ensuring the products inside the tank were not clanking around and leaking everywhere. Customer chat didnt acknowledge that I labeled this to be damaged and to bring it to the store... Hopefully they will make the exchange.

Worst customer service ever. I have been a long time member, but after today. Im letting everyone I know how rude they are! I was there to but a reptile, and not one person out of the 6 employees walking buy asked me for help? I mean. ...I know when they are busy thats one thing, but there was only 3 customers in the store at that time! Even the cashier who was feet away from me just stared!!!! Finally, after 35 minutes of waiting the cashier asked if I needed help. So of course I said "yes" he paged 3 times before someone walked over and said" yeah? I dont know how much of help I can be with reptiles but , yeah..... ??? I asked her if they had baby bearded dragons and all she said was "nope".. I said it would have saved me a lot of wasted time standing there if they placed a label that said "temporarily out" or something? ....and what was her response????? "Yeah" ......"oh well".....????? 1) No customer freindly service 2) rude and inconsiderate for customers needs. 3) unqualified for assistance? Dont let your, or your childs experience be a bad one, just go down the road a little ways, youll find Petsmart and Petclub....way better service

This Petco is hit-or-miss. I have had many great experiences here. I only own cat, and fish, so those are the departments I deal with. There are a few employees in the fish department and most are fairly helpful- I believe only 2 really have any experience though. I have had a few terrible experiences here, with some rude customer service. When calling to inquire about their fish adoption tank (I have a fish that needs rehoming) the manager on the phone was extremely rude to me, asking me multiple times for information I had already provided. When i asled how the process works, her response was "How does it work?? You bring in the fish, it floats, then goes to the first home that wants it". Seems that things could have been much more professional.

Our two medium sized golden doodles got totally covered in ticks on a weekend trip up here and Petco got them in and sorted. They did a great job, both our guys were super happy and the groomer did an excellent job, especially in tough areas like their ears. We got them shaved down to look like lambs and the groomers did a great job not just with the styling, but also removing about 15 ticks each...this was after we removed about 100 ticks from them. They were definitely deer ticks, so be careful out there and opt for the summer cuts.

We took our grandkids Yorky to be groomed and he came home looking like he was butchered. They said they couldnt cut his lower hair because he was uncooperative, but they must not have tried very hard because he is a very sweet dog. They didnt even attempt to trim his head and only cut trimmed his right side leaving his left side long. Have you ever seen an embarrassed dog? WORSE HAIR EVER! We will never go there again. I asked our dog how they treated him while he was there and he said "Rough".

My husband and I took our 1 year old Terrier Mix into Petcos grooming department for his first official spa day. The staff was excellent they asked what I hoped for in his haircut and I gave just a few instructions. They kept it simple and prompt! I was taken back by my dog when he came out to greet me! Im so happy that my dog had a good experience for his first full groom and couldnt be happier with the results! Ask for Rosie!!! Shes amazing!

Took my dog to the pet grooming station. Super friendly staff and genuine kindness for animals there. Talked to Allen, Angie, and I believe it was Marcie as well. They are all excellent employees and deserve recognition for outstanding Dog service/Customer service. The only reason it was 4 stars was due to inside the store for having only 1 cashier and a line of 5 people. I will definitely be back to get my dog pampered. Thank you again.

Though late, still great customer service! The birds were calming down and relaxing as 9pm closed in, but one of the birds I took a picture of (attached) I dont care, that bird is the reincarnation of Moe from the original Three Stooges!!! Very neat and clean, didnt smell like animals or feces, a calming cricket chirping by the cash register was the only thing out of place here in my visit.
