THIS REVIEW IS FOR ALL TERRIER RESCUE, A SHELTER THAT DOES ADOPTION EVENTS AT THIS LOCATION. Every employee of this Petsmart has been awesome, and I hate to leave a 1 star for them but Im hoping they will reconsider allowing this rescue to conduct adoption events at their store. I have been to two different adoption events at the Tigard Petsmart and both times I was shocked by how exceptionally rude and condescending Shannon was. Shes the main lady with the short black hair and every single person she interacted with she treated as if they were an idiot. She refused to answer questions about any of the dogs, saying, "obviously you didnt read anything on our website..." (and they literally have no information or bios about any of the dogs on their website), yelled at her co-workers in front of everyone, and snapped at people who were looking at dogs, trying to tell them they were interacting with the dogs wrong (Ive raised and trained dogs my whole life, nothing anyone was doing was wrong, she told one guy who was comforting a dog that was a bit nervous that he was "reinforcing bad behavior" and that he was basically teaching the dog to hate people..) They have lots of beautiful sweet dogs but with their main point of contact being so outstandingly awful to everyone theyre never going to find their forever homes. I challenge you to go to one of their adoption events, interact with Shannon, and not leave feeling angry. Hey bet she doesnt even remember me because she gives the same remarkably terrible customer service to everyone.

Something is wrong at this Petsmart, the manager or the employees, I cant figure it out. It took over 3 hours for my 8 lb shih tzu to be groomed. Rather than a simple "Im sorry, we over booked," both the employee and the manager gave me the runaround, saying they advertise to schedule in 3-4 hours for a grooming. Are you kidding me? My dog is an 8 lb, 10 year old shy shih tzu, and Petsmart needs 3-4 hours? Then they have the nerve to try to defend the time it was taking them for my dog, saying that some dogs get stressed more than others. I know my dog. Never has anyone ever said she was stressed or acted out during a grooming or any other time for that matter. How about Petsmart examining its own scheduling and management policy? How about not trying to defend a 3+ hour job for an 8 lb, 10 year old Shih Tzu that was groomed just 7 weeks prior? They couldnt even argue she was was a mess and took more time. It took me less time to groom my 55 pound collie than it took Petsmart to groom an 8lb Shih Tzu. Perhaps Petsmart is overbooking to the nth degree and shoving little dogs aside to give more time for the bigger dogs that they make more money off of. I do not recommend this or any other Petsmart or store that tries to defend taking 3-4 hours to groom an 8-lb Shih Tzu.

I have to go here to get my pets prescription food. Someone recently started getting the same foods that I get, and theyve been out of the size of bag that I wanted to get. I found a manager to ask if there was more in the back somewhere, and he said there wasnt but he would be more than happy to sell me smaller bags at the larger bag rate---the first time anyone has offered to do this in the several times this location has been out of the food Ive needed, and Ive had to run to other locations to get the size bag I needed. Just be persistent, if theres something you need. The same person is always at the checkout counter when I check out, and she is friendly, but if you are in any sort of hurry or expect your interaction with the cashier to be quick and limited, you will get frustrated. I waited in line, minutes after opening for over 10 minutes when no one else was in the store because the couple ahead of me got a puppy and there was all of this signing up for classes and this and that. My cat had just had surgery and I was trying to get in and out. Someone noticed my frustration and opened a second lane to get me through and out--very kind.

I just got a new puppy from the humane society and went to petsmart to get a few things for him. The staff were so helpful, they told me about all kinds of tricks with potty training and explained how to pick out the right type of food. I didnt even know they did training classes right there in the store, but I signed up for one. I was looking at hiring a dog trainer to come to my house but this is so much less expensive. The best deal I could find online was over 50 dollars for an hour at my house, and at Petsmart its only 110 dollars for the 8 class course! One of the trainers even came over to me just introduce herself. My dog loved her so much, and hes still afraid of almost everything. The trainer noticed that Bennys nails were very long and we were able to go to the groomers and they trimmed them up for me right then. It was only a few dollars, not a bad deal to have a professional do it. Im always so afraid of hitting the vein that dogs have in their nails. I cant wait for next week when our class starts, we have our training treats and new harness all set and ready.

Its a good thing they are known for low prices, their customer service stinks! This place has gone down hill bad. We used to spend a solid $100 a month here. Not anymore. Bought an aquarium kit for work for a betta, the pump didnt work. Tried to bring it back and they wouldnt honor the pump not working so I had to buy a new pump. Burned once. The kids bought some fish and plants for their aquarium and they complained the staff was hard to find and was trying to tell them the snails that were on the plant were "mystery" snails. LOL Wrong type! The ones that were on the plants are an infestation snail and the staff should have known that! Had to bring back the fish for being too aggressive, called in advance to see if that would be ok and was assured they can do a credit but not cash back. No problem. Gathered the fish and was informed by the manager they couldnt do it. Had to raise a bit of a stink about it to have them take the fish back. Dont go to this store. Go to Petco. Its worth the few pennies difference to get a better service.

I came in to have my dogs nails grinded and his anal glads expressed. When I came back to pick him up 15 minutes later, I was waiting for them to bring him out and the girl at the front was on the phone with another customer. She hung up with them and loudly complained to her co-workers that they wouldnt be back for a few hours to pick up their dog. Very unprofessional. After they brought my dog out I asked if his anal glands were full. Weve had problems in the past with them being too full and my moms dog has gotten infections and had a lot of issues from too full anal glands, so I wanted to know if I should bring him in more often and have them done. The girl who did them apparently went on lunch, they did try to find her but she apparently had left. I asked if she had left a note and I was told that they only do that for appointment services and not for walk-ins. They responded "I guess we can have her call you when she gets back." She never called.
