My wife and I go to Ray for all of our tattoos, and he does an amazing job. The shop is always clean and kept up nicely. When you come in for a quote he is always quick to tell you how much it will be, and always sticks to it. He is very inexpensive and the quality of his work is very good! I have severe scar tissue on my arms, and he is the only tattoo artist that agreed to work on me. Because of the nature of the scar tissue there are touch ups that need to be done, but he is always more than okay with doing the touch ups at no cost to me. He puts movies on and has interesting conversation every time we go in, so its not just about getting tattooed, its more so hanging out with a friend when we are there. We usually go see him about once every month or so and are more than pleased with the results. Go see Ray! You wont regret it! :) Also, do not listen to the girl that commented below a few reviews. There were customers coming in when I was getting my chest tattoos and I was not even bothered by it. You are in a tattoo shop, if you want privacy, go somewhere else. People are going to want to be onlookers to the work youre getting done, its a fact. Ray is more than accommodating when you bring him a sketch. Any time I bring in a picture, he makes a copy, traces it, and gives me exactly what I want. He does talk to customers when they come in, but he ALWAYS changes gloves in between, and he NEVER loses track of what he is doing. My wife has gone to him for 2 years and her tattoos are still pretty. If youre in the sun, and depending on the type of your skin, you will need touch ups. But unlike most tattooers, Ray will tell you, "Hey, come in and get a touch up". Dont let one bad review stop you from dropping by!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I made my appointment to get tattooed by Ray. As I walked in, several others followed me. And even though I was the one with the appointment, he helped every one else first. Then as I was trying to explain the tattoo I wanted to him, he kept ignoring me and talking to random people that were only there to hang out and watch. People that I didnt know at all were able to sit there and watch me get tattooed and listen in to what I was trying to explain and I didnt have any choice or privacy. I could have dealt with that except when I am paying for you to sketch something for me and permanently tattoo it onto my body, you better respect what I want and actually help me during my appointment time. He also refused to sketch my tattoo because it was "a waste of his time." Ray was not only unhelpful and unprofessional, but he was a complete jerk and I felt so uncomfortable about him tattooing me that I left in the middle of what little conversation we had. Also he has tattooed my friends before, and all of their tattoos faded within a month. Their tattoos look 10 years old.

I have been to Ray for each and every single one of my tattoos. My first was a large piece, Lily flowers and tribal on my back. I knew exactly what I wanted and told him, along with some picture ideas as well, and he did it, exactly how I wanted it, perfect amount of color, everything! He even helped me become more relaxed and let me choose a movie to watch while getting inked! He is so gentle with what he does, he tells jokes to take your mind off of what hes doing, and hes very personable. Hes a great guy, not to mention a great tattoo artist. I just went to him for my 2nd and 3rd, back to back, and same experience. Amazing. Still a jokester, still makes me laugh, and he makes fun of me for humming when he goes over the few spots that hurt. Dont listen to the one review with one star. Apparently, she wanted privacy for a tattoo she was getting on her ankle. Shes just fussy and high maintenance. If youre looking for your first or next tattoo, go to Ray! You absolutely will not regret it!

I have had a couple tattoos done by Ray and I would have to say that he is a fabulous coverup specialist for sure! He fixed one of my tattoos that was done by another artist out of state, not to mention he did all of this free handed, and he did an amazing job. I always get compliments on it and I absolutely love it! I have had him do 2 other tattoos since then. They are both over a year old and they look like they are new; the ink has not faded at all, not even the white which I thought would be a lot less noticeable by now. Ray is very personable and he makes an extra effort to make sure that all of his clients are happy. I love his work and I wouldnt dream of ever going anywhere else. He makes me feel very comfortable and in comparison to other artists that have tattooed my friends or that have done work on me, he is very light handed and pays close attention to detail. I will definitely be recommending Ray to all of my friends.

Ray is the only person I will ever let tattoo me. I started with him about 3 years ago and have gotten 7 pieces done by him, including a huge chest piece. Every time I come up with an idea, Ray delivers EXACTLY what I am looking for. The shop is spotless, and it has a comfortable environment. I cant believe anyone would give Ray a bad review. If all of her friends tattoos looked 10 years old, why would she go to she same artist? Common sense would tell me to look elsewhere, but not everyone has it. I highly recommend Altered Flesh Tattoo. Ray delivers time and time again.

THE BEST TATTOO SHOP EVER. Ray is the man! Every piece i get from him turns out better than the last. His attention to detail is out of control. I am continually amazed by his free hand artwork. He is completing a sleeve on my right arm that has been drawn totally free hand. It looks better than I have ever imagine. He is also the best artist I have ever seen at cover up work. I know from experience. I have been to shops all over hollywood and even to newport and even though i live in the hollywood area, I will still make the extra drive to santa clarita to see RAY!

Gotten a tattoo, hip dermals, and rook pierced and both Raymond and Simon are amazing! I always get compliments on my side tattoo and he definitely did not overcharge me. Simon pierced my rook and my friends anti tragus and both turned out great. Really clean and thorough. Then I went back to get hip dermals and I was kind of scared but he kept me calm and they turned out perfect:) I highly recommend this place for both tattoos and piercings!

I got my belly button pierced here and they did an amazing job! i recommend you go there for all piercings, because they really know what they are doing. It didnt hurt a bit, and they gave me great advice on how to take care of it. He talked me through the whole thing, and it helped a lot. next time you want something pierced, or a tattoo go to Altered Flesh Tattoo and you wont regret it.
