Lived here 43 years and remember when it just used to be an outdoor mall. Since then it has changed and changed and grown and grown. It is now again under construction, but they have not done a thorough job at stopping the congestion of traffic in & out (especially horrible at Christmas time). I am not thrilled with the new parking structure at this point. Everything in it has been made so small that you barely miss hitting walls and cones in an SUV around the right turns. Plus the stop light added to enter the lot creates a lot of frustration for drivers being held up that are not even entering the parking structure as you are forced to use this tiny lane it. but cars back up to just get inside the parking building. to justA lot of marks from cars hitting parts of the parking structure already. I would like to see more of a security presence making rounds to avoid thieves and car break-ins who steal personal items from cars. So right now its not given my highest rating as the stores that stay pay a HUGE chunk of change in rent to be there even the small vendors open in the center dont seem well put together or thought out to make sense with their location like Clinique across from Apple? I dont get that combination? The mall layout is a bit strange but hopefully this improves overtime when this awful construction is finally done. I live across the street and traffic is terrible especially during the holidays. Just to make a quick stop anywhere you have to plan around how to avoid "the mall" that I should just walk or ride a bike but even that is so dangerous when you have little kids. Macys is so old and needs some major remodeling. My parent used to work as an engineer there years ago in the old Emporium days and they do the bare minimum to keep up the insides and guts of the building. And, dont get me started on how shabby the CVS and Safeway are there in this Parkin lot as they should be the best around. This new area needs more refreshing around what foods people have access to buy like a Whole Foods or Trader Joes type store not a shabby Safeway that has not changed in 40 years with homeless hanging about. And the other buildings around this area just dont seem to belong. Very strange and little progression besides Santana Row and the constant construction of Valley Fair.

I hated this mall the first time I went, on a weekday. But going back on a Saturday showed me that it could be SO MUCH WORSE than my first experience. I only went because I had to go to the Apple Store after my computer had a run-in with badly packaged chinese food. I will drive any distance next time to go to any other Apple store rather than this one nearest where I live. The Apple employees were perfectly nice. They get two thumbs up. But I drove around for like half an hour just trying to find somewhere to park. I pretty much imagine hell is the Westfield Valley Fair Mall. First the unbelievable frustration of being stuck in this parking lot, unable to move because its so crowded. Then you get inside the mall - nothing has ever tempted me to become Amish more than the appalling display of consumerism that is this mall. Nothing has ever brought out my Luddite inclinations more strongly. In fact I left feeling like I pretty much never wanted to buy ANY PRODUCT AGAIN, EVER, because it turned me off to the very experience of shopping. I think I developed either agoraphobia or PTSD as a result of visiting this mall - I was literally fighting back tears the entire time, and Im still feeling jittery. The only place I would rather visit LESS than this mall is Las Vegas *shudder*. If you have some free time, and a friend is sending you a Facebook message suggesting that you hang out at this mall, and at the same time your dentist calls to say he can fit you in today for that root canal, pick the root canal. You will have a better time than you would at this mall. Nothing on Gods green earth will induce me to set foot in it ever again. Although everyone else seemed to be totally fine with it - so I guess if you are a typical American, you like this sort of horrorscape. I dont know whats wrong with all you people. PS The WIndows store was way less crowded than the Apple store.

Received a Microsoft Pro4. I started to configure and ran into problem getting the Camera to work. I took a chance and took it to Microsoft store in San Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara. I cant believe how helpful and receptive everyone in the store were. One guy took a quick look at my pro4 and recommended that I just have their tech reset and update everything. I gladly said "yes. Tina got all of my information, said it might tale 2-4 days to complete but theyll get started on it as soon as possible and would call when its done. The very next morning, I got a call and theyve already completed the job. I was very excited, happy and thankful. Went to the store to pick it up and Nate went out of his way to help me set-up my account and make sure that everything is working perfectly before I left. He was unbelievably, patient, kind and so totally knows what he was doing. There was not even a hint of impatience on his part, he was just glad to see a happy customer. I told Nate that because of his exceptional service, he made a total believer of "Microsoft" out of me. All these and they did not even care if the computer was purchased from their store of not. "THANK YOU!" NATE & TINA, You both are Awesome & The Best! Most Gratefully, Celia

Believe me I LOVE MAC. I spent thousands and thousands of dollars, specifically from this location and my last experience was HORRIBLE!!!! Keep in mind they HAVE my data and history of my transactions on their record. I never have had any problem until I was trying to exchange a stupid powder. I bought a few weeks back before I decided to use it. Guess what ? The woman who helped me gave me the wrong shade! Of course I already threw away the receipt at that time. I came back to the store and I told the manager what happened. Guess what ? They wouldnt let me exchange the product, ultimately correcting their mistakes because I dont have a FREAKING RECIEPT! Im thinking Dude! you have all my transactions and you can look up when I bought it, ATM I used, how much I bought previously and you CANT EXCHANGE your UNUSED product ? I really hate this particular store. Worst Customer service of ALL institution. Lesson learned. You may be covered with beautiful make-up but underneath it is dark and ugly. I will NEVER return to this store again. Remember this Folks, "If they dont want their product back, there is something wrong with these people".

Ive frequented Valley Fair since the late 60s watching it transform into the luxury power mall that it now is. Cant think of much you cant find at Valley Fair, and unlike in the 70s and 80s when you had to go to Stanford Shopping Center for many luxury goods, you only need to drive a few blocks or miles to Valley Fair to find a world class experience that could be argued is better that what Stanford affords. With a great selection of every major brand, food, clothing and specialty shops, theres something for everyone. My daughter and I have dinner every Friday night in the food court (miss Sbarros baked zitti with extra sauce and meatballs), shop for her clothes, buy our tech at the Microsoft/Apple store and spend quality time having fun while accomplishing our shopping needs. As Valley Fair adds their Bloomingdales and Saks along with the new theatres, I cant think of a reason to go anywhere else.
