Best shoe store in SLO. Knowledgeable staff who provide personalized service. The shoes are expensive but thats because they are high quality and will support your feet for much longer than cheap, poorly made shoes. Great selection with a variety of widths and accessories like shoe polish, sole inserts and more.

I get most of my shoes here. Friendly staff who give you all the time you need with no rush. I have to be able to actually try the shoes on for comfort and Takkens allows that. Plus their prices are competitive and my dollars stay local.

I took my shoes in for velcro replacement and am thus far very pleased with the result. The new velcro is glued & stitched, and the workmanship appears solid. I will definitely visit Takkens the next time I need work done.
