My friend and I were on a search for shoes to wear for our upcoming college graduation, so we decided to go to famous footwear, they have relatively affordable shoes at decent prices. To make a long story short, we were greeted by an associate named Jennifer (with long blond hair), I noticed that as I was browsing the aisles looking for the perfect shoe, she happened to be in every aisle that I was in at the same exact time (or not to seem so suspicious she would be in a nearby aisle). At first, I didnt pay her behavior any attention, but I soon realized that she was following both my friend and I around the store. Being an educated African American woman, I took offense to her notion that my friend and I were going to steal shoes. I asked for the manager, we had to wait about 20 minutes for her to come to our assistance. In the mean time Jennifer was walking around making little snide comments about my friend and I asking to speak with the manager. The manager finally came to speak with us and we explained to her the situation, she proceeded to explain to us that "there have been a lot of thieves lately" (uh manager training skills needed disparately, not the proper thing to say when customers are upset about being followed because they are African American). At that point, I had enough of the excuses and asked for the store managers contact information. She obliged my request, and also tried to pacify my friend and I by asking if we still wanted the shoes we were looking at, and if so she would give us a discount (so not acceptable). A customer service representative at the corporate office was very apologetic about the whole situation. However, the district manager James Patten has yet to return my call (after two failed attempts to contact him). So in all, my experience was not that great at Famous footwear in TURLOCK!!

always come here rather than the store in atwater, i find much more better help with workers here and much more satisfaction than when in atwater store, its worth the drive over.
