I use to go there over a year ago, and the service was ok, There was one girl and her name was Jackie who was excellent, She always had a smile and a great additude. The other workers just made the store feel very uncomfortable, I recomended a few friends and agreed about Jackie and her positivness and actually spent alot of money on the meat, A few weeks ago we came in and some grumpy old lady. Sorry Iowa you lost out on aloy of money. and a guy(who was to busy reading his text messages) stated that she no longer worked there, I swear by custormer service and all six of us left the store without buying one thing. I have been a customer of Iowa Meat Farms for many years now and shop there almost exclusively for meat. I know the prices are higher than youre going to pay in the grocery store, but considering the quality you get in return, I think it is well worth it. At this point there is little that IMF sells that I havent had, from their plain cuts of beef, to pork roasts, to their marinaded chicken, or house made sausages (of which there are many varieties and often some new types rotating in). As for the service, I find that I have good, friendly service far more often than not, and I have never felt unwelcome. Sure there have been busier days, always around the holidays, where the staffs focus seems to be on moving customers in and out as fast as possible, but that isnt exactly surprising. The only thing currently detracting from my experience at IMF is the lack of grass fed beef options. Its definitely the way things are going, and I feel like IMF could really help to open the door to top quality and easily available grass fed beef in San Diego.

Wonderful small market centrally located in San Diego to get some great meats for grilling or cooking. Had one of the best steaks Ive had in years that I purchased from Iowa Meat Farms and took home to grill. The regular, bacon pork, and especially the bourbon brats were absolutely delicious cooked on the grill. Purchased a great BBQ sauce made in Iowa and they have a limited but nice selection of groceries available as well. Kids liked the walk-in cooler where there is a fairly wide range of soda pops and beer to choose from. Also purchased a couple of very good wines from their selection. One more thing, on certain days they sell pies made in , I believe Julian, CA. - buy them baked or unbaked, we bought the baked and it was an excellent dessert. Glad I found this place!

Ive been to this place four times and its my new favorite. Excellent meat. They also have fish, a variety of high quality spices, and bbq supplies. Yes, its more expensive than what youll pay at Vons, but if you are on a Vons budget, then stay at Vons. Dont come to a quality butcher shop and complain that its pricier. Duh. And a few reviewers disliked the service. Ive only been four times, but each time the people were friendly and the service good.

Only place in S.D. where I can find actualy Boston Butt! Also have traeger pellets and a nice variety of sauces, rubs, spices, etc. Also have Julian apple pies. Only thing is that the meat is a little pricey, not for everyday bbqing but definately the place to go when you need something specific (i.e. Boston Butt, dry aged steaks, traeger pellets, a specific rub, etc).

You get what you pay for, and IMF is no different. If you want a cheap cut of meat, you will need to look elsewhere. We dont buy all our meat here, but it we want a special night dinner with a really good steak/meal, then we love to stop here. Corned beef is amazing in March, and the steaks are very good.

FANTASTIC!!! Iowa Meat Farms has some of the best cuts of meat in all of San Diego! And they also do Turducken, which if you havent ever had it brings turkey, duck and chicken all together in one bird...and its AMAZING! This place is going to be my go to spot from now on when I need any meat cut done!

Great meat market! Their selection of meats is Top Notch. Probably only place in San Diego where you will find real Fajita meat and not that carne asada everyone thinks is Fajita meat. Its $$$ pricey but you get what you pay for and its well worth the money.

Excellent place to get meats! I have been shopping in the mission valley store for the past three years and always get great quality cuts of meats. The prices are far considering the quality of meats you get. I would recommend my friends give them a try.

Great butcher shop, that is a bit on the pricer side, but they back that up with great quality meats. They also have a walk in beer cooler which is pretty cool. Produce section is a bit small, but really... you come here for their meat selection.

great selection, knowledgeable staff, a bit pricey but I love this place. its a high end store, so sometimes the staff can seem snobbish but you can find some really nice folks there too. the meat is always fresh and the selection is amazing

This is the BEST butcher shop in San Diego. Period. There is no competition to this family owned place. They even sell Turducken! Protip: they have a chamber vacuum sealer, so if you want to sous vide, you can have them bag it up for you.

My favorite butcher in San Diego. They have just about everything you could possibly need to get into charcuterie if you want to. All the stuff in there is super fresh too. I especially love their bacon, it is absolutely delicious.
