First, I should start by saying that I am a very picky shopper. I shop around, I do my research, I check online for other vendors with better deals before committing to a purchase. Especially a large purchase, a purchase I dont plan on making again for several years to come - like furniture! I checked what Target, Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us offer. I also browsed several small furniture stores and online vendors. At the end of the day, I found that Babies R Us had good quality furniture pieces at the best prices, and a lot on display - I like being able to see furniture in person before buying! They also tend to have good sales, so I kept my eye out for specials. But what really made me a fan was the customer service. Granted, I think I got very lucky having bumped into RICHARD GALLARDO. He works at the Mira Mesa location and defines what good customer service is or should be. He surpasses it. I was looking for a furniture set that seemed to be sold out (the crib and dresser were, the bookshelf was available, some of the conversion kits were sold out as well). Richard made sure to call every store in the district, to gather each and every piece that I was looking to buy. He literally spent about 3-4 hours the first night I walked into Babies R Us to make sure I would get everything I needed, and in a timely manner. It did take about a month for all the pieces to come in, but he communicated with me the entire time, we even text, and now I have the beautiful nursery I had imagined! Honestly, I am fairly certain most other stores would have simply said, sorry, this set is sold out! Probably would have tried to sell me on something else! Richard also gave me advice on several other pieces, that as a first time mom, I had not considered purchasing or known about. Not necessarily expensive things, I didnt feel like I was being sold (I am in sales myself so I especially hate being sold!). He recommended a baby swing, which he mentioned his own son really enjoyed - and gave me a few pointers on how to select a good one. He also mentioned a backseat mirror to calm the baby in the car (since the new CA law says babies should be backward facing for 2 years and if they fuss, you cant simply see them through your back view mirror). He made sure everything I purchased, was purchased off my registry - so I would get all the points I had earned (I didnt even know these points existed, but he told me I needed to get them to make sure I got a nice check after the delivery of the baby!). All in all, shopping at Babies R Us, with Richard, was a pleasant experience. The communication and patience and assistance he offered will certainly bring me back to the Mira Mesa location!!! In fact, I recommend you ask for Richard when you get to the store, especially if you are looking to make a big purchase and need someone you can trust to help you along.

False advertisement at register and this is why economy sucks. My wife and I went in and returned some extra gifts from our baby shower and while waiting I see a yellow sign on the register stating that if the representative did not ask the 3 questions above that they would give you a free soda. It didnt say you had to be Buying something. So after the transaction was done I asked for my free soda, girl States that we were not buying anything. Hello your job is to sell so if I just got back $100+ dollars on agift card as store credit wouldnt you ask me. .."Hey if you decide to purchase something today I could give you 15% off your purchases.. ." Since one of the questions was to ask me about some 15% off deal. whatever employees are weak and mangers have a poor way of getting sales up. Babies R Us should reevaluate their employees at this store. Are you sales down? Think about it. ......

The store manager, Angie, is worthless and rude. Do not register at Babies R Us. If you do, make sure that EVERYTHING that is given to you at your shower is checked to ensure that it works, even if you dont need the items for months to come. I was given a baby monitor. I just went to use it for the first time and it does not work. I went to return it, but it was past their 45 day policy and refused to exchange or return it. They said I could return it to the manufacturer--however the manufacturer will not accept the gift receipt as proof of purchase. So I am stuck with a $200 monitor that doesnt work and I have to purchase another one. That one will not be from Babies R Us. Additionally, their return policies are in violation of California Consumer Protection Acts. So I will go ahead and file a complaint. They absolutely suck at Babies R Us

Over promised and under delivered. My wife and I purchased a very expensive breast feeding chair 9 days ago. Staff said this was not a special order and that everything will arrive within 9-10 days. We followed up on our order today and staff now inform us that this chair is actually on back order and will take 6-8 weeks to get here. Baby is due this week. This puts us in a huge inconvenient situation. The only attempt the staff made to resolve this situation was to offer us a refund but after the chair arrives in 6-8 weeks because thats is Babies R Us policy. We paid for a chair that was supposed to arrive this week. It wont here here for another 6-8 weeks. And cant get a refund until the chair arrives. How is this even legal in the state of California?

The store is nice a big, great for kids to run around in, and there is a great selection of products. However customer service could use some work. Multiple times weve tried to buy something and theres only one register open or when you check out the cashier mysteriously leaves. This has happened on more than on occasion and has stopped us from completing a purchase and ordering on Amazon or going next door to Target.

i go to babys r us for all my needs and always find what im looking for. yes its alittle pricy but thats because its a specialty store. and finding someone to help you is useless. thier is never anyone in the ailse. but i keep going back because i just love the selection of clothes and toys and everything i need is in one location and if they dont have what your lokking for they will order it online for you.

The purchase and then checkout process took four people, two hours and five pieces of paper with two transactions. I had to ask someone if they would like to sell us some stuff. Also they dont deliver, they out source that service which requires more paperwork. My credit card thought it was fraud, but it was just a massive waste of time. Order online if you want a better shopping experience.

Alejandra was outstanding! If you go to this store, ask for her. She took time to sit us down and go through our registry so that we got the best price on everything we needed. She was very patient and understanding. She also added us to the mailing list and hooked us up the proper rewards card. Thank you!! She was great and we had a great experience at this Babies R Us.
