I can say I have visited this store several hundred times over the years and almost all the reviews here, from 1 to 5 stars, are pretty accurate. How can this be? Well each reflects their own view of it. Yes its probably true employees filter off a lot of merchandise- but most still makes it to the shelf so there are a lot of good deals if you know what youre looking at and goo often. Yes there is a lot of junk but thats the case with all thrift stores. Now in 2014 looks like something has changed at all the Amvets. You just dont see the same quality or quantity of merchandise and I think their donations promotions are not as agressive. They also advertise an auction site. So they arent what they used to be but then what is?

The employees/volunteers and manager/Terry of this store need some people skill training. This is the rudest bunch of employees that I have ever encountered in a store. Not only do they post 1/2 off sales except everything tagged red and then everything IS tagged red but they treat absolutely everyone as if they are thieves. If you find something that is not red tagged they assume you are trying to cheat them. I have always shopped AMVETS but I will never enter this store again. Their behavior is absolutely abhorrent!!!

I worked at this store and felt discrimenated against, they favor mexican workers, and the american staff was treated very rude, the mexican workers recieved promotions and better jobs there, they have 50% off days on colors but they say 50% off everything but red and in the mornings the staff pulled everything out but red so there decieveing everyone. the managers terry and romme are so rude to the staff and customers, parking there can be near impossible, and very easy to get a parking ticket there.

I have found a ton of good stuff at this store. It is huge. Definitely worth checking out. But the 50% discount is a scam. You go in and find out what the color of the day is, but soon find that next to nothing is tagged with that color. They have a special sale every Wednesday, but unless you plan on arriving at 9am I would not bother showing up because the place becomes an absolute zoo. Wall to wall people. And the line... Even though it moves fast, a 20 person line up can be discouraging.

Big selection, Very busy and had some interesting stuff. About 80% or so is such garbage but you can find some treasures. My biggest problem is they dont have any rooms to try anything on, I know its inconvenient for them but Im about 50 times more likely to buy something I know fits well otherwise I mostly just pass it by. Also expect to pay the full ticket price because anything that is nice is never discounted. Decent pricing though.

Good prices and great finds for my size which is large. Stuff I buy here does not look like anything purchased at a thrift store, no offense to thrift stores of course (I buy all my clothes there) , but you know what I mean. I found a nice leather bag at amazing price. Could be a little better organized. Overall, I come here all the time and recommend it all the way.

I luv thrift shops. Someone elses junk can be someones treasure. I find many many things i dont need til the day comes i have it. I found a two bedroom tent by swiss for $10⛺, two double chairs for $15, a doggy stroller $19, many other things wow thats a steal if u ask me. Thank u for thift shops. Yes some thrift shops are pricey but u can still find good deals.

Its almost worth driving down from LA just to go here. I found some wonderful bar stools here that I paid under $20 for 2. My friend paid $200 for 1 of the same chair. Its a wonderful thrift store, not to mention its just around the corner from the best thai place, saffron, and the pier 1 clearance store. Check it out you wont regret it.

If you have the time to look around for a while it is a nice place to find a few rare things. Kids clothing selection is great. The parking situation here is awful. It really needs to be improved or they need to move to a much better location with ample parking for their customers

This is a good thrift store because it is so huge. There is alot of junk to sift through. The cashiers usually have an attitude problem, but hey, they work at Amvets! I dont take it personal. They are a little pricey for most items(sometimes insane) but generally its worth a look!

This IS the absolute BEST thrift store Ive ever walked into. Ive gone here to buy clothes for my babies before I go to any department store. Theyre in great condition, and have great selection! I definitely stock up on clothes for the ones my boys outgrow so quickly.

My favorite place to donate. Its a huge store. They have a little bit of everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciate that thet resell books, school books, and school supplies. Im glad I didnt have to throw hundreds of dollars in books away.

This is my favorite thrift store in San Diego. Theres a big selection of items and they are reasonably priced. I have noticed the prices are higher then a few years ago but still really affordable and they always have certain colored tags that are 50 percent off.

Theres a lot of junk to pick through but I have found some rare good finds. I wish they would put the boutique stuff in a case where you could see it but its all behind check out area. Prices can be a bit unreasonable at times and then some items its a steal.

Located close to lindberg field airport. Store is huge. There is another store cross to it, I guess they sell furnitures. Although the main store located on upper level, its conventniently can be accessed by wheelchairs. No elevators.

I love this place. Sooooo many clothes. I can always find at least the full outfits for about $20. They have a little bit of everything and it is always cheap. One of the best thrift stores in San Diego.

They have good prices on shoes. Some of the clothing is over priced in my opinion. But everything is well organized. They have 50 % off certain colored tags daily.
