We have been very pleased with the quality of GEs Gianduja & Opera Cakes. They are delicious, and dissolve in your mouth. For this we would give it a 5* Review. But the Frozen Treats, thats another story. Our 1* Review is based on last nights experience trying their Frozen Treats. We were extremely disappointed to try these Frozen treats after the high marks they had received. They are overpriced for what they are. We tried their Almond Rocher IceCream Bar, which, by the way, is NOT rolled in almonds, but with a very sparse amount of nuts, the chocolate is definitely NOT 72% Bittersweet, and the vanilla ice-cream inside is more like a water-based sherbet than a creamy frozen vanilla treat. It is also a small bar for $5. Then we tried their Caramelized Milk & Coffee Parisian Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich ($6.50), which people had raved about. Another disappointment. The ice-cream was tasteless and the chocolate macarons were SO SWEET that it totally ruined the whole experience. And by the way, who cares about where it comes from? Chocolate FISH Coffee Roaster? Really? The other thing that turned us off was the fact that when we paid with a credit card, the very minute our card was scanned, the person taking our order started with this rehearsed script starting with "How is your day going so far? Have been out for dinner? Where was that? How was that?......" As the next screen pops up you see the total, then another screen pops up with options for Tips (Really? for doing what? for taking the Frozen Treats out of the big refrigerators in the back? There is of course an option for No Tips, but the mere fact that it is there makes one feel put on the spot) Tipping has always been optional. If you wish for people to leave tips, just put a container where people can leave one if they wish to do so. We definitely dont recommend these Frozen Treats. Even Costco has a better ice-cream bar. We dont understand what all the fuss is about.

Believe it or not, I never really had much of a sweet tooth growing up. My family had something known as our "candy drawer" which was so full that you couldnt even close it. It had chocolate, candy, bubble gum, you name it, it was in there. My mom loved Sees candy, so we always has a pound (or two) of assorted chocolates and truffles, but I never really ate any of it. Then, Ginger Elizabeth happened......whole different story. Im not saying I was converted into a chocoholic because of Ginger Elizabeth, but I will say that thinking about their chocolates makes me crave their deliciously delicate little morsels every single time. They are definitely on the expensive side, $2 for one piece of chocolate! BUT, if youre willing to splurge on a delightful experience, there isnt a single thing that I wouldnt recommend from this chocolatier shop. I will say, their Oaxacan hot chocolate is quite sinful (make sure you ask them not to make it too sweet) and my favorite chocolate is their Maya Chile. Happy eating, my friends. After you try this place, trust me, youll be #chocolatewasted and loving it!

Should you ever have a traumatizing experience so horrific the only thing you can compare it to is a Dementor sucking a piece of your soul away, you feel cold, and so distraught and emotionally drained afterwards. As we all know thanks to the widely popularized novels of Harry Potter, chocolate is the best cure after a Dementor attack. Head straight to Ginger Elizabeth and get European Sipping Chocolate. It is like a like drinking a truffle, it will stave off the shakes, and bring the warmth back into your heart so the healing process can begin. There are numerous other varieties of chocolate to choose from, but after a particularly awful day, or traumatizing event nothing but Ginger Elizabeths European Sipping Chocolate will do.

This is not Sees Candies! this is serious chocolate. These are chocs you buy to impress or thank or show your love. The hard part is actually letting go of the [incredibly cute] little brown boxes as you hand them over. My advise is to buy yourself a little commiseration present - say a box of macarron, or a chunk of their nut chocolate or even a (small) box of your own. Classy like you wouldnt believe and very high quality ingredients presented in a style that fits a Parisian Chocolatier. Whatever else I get there, the Salted Caramel Macarron is still my favourite. Parking is a nightmare. There are lines out the door when its Valentines/Mothers days. They do mail order. Not cheap

My Son gifted me the sipping Chocolate for Christmas and I must say It did not last me beyond New Years day. Last time I visited Sacramento, I made this my first stop to purchase another canister and a few pieces of chocolate. Upon raving about how I loved being able to enjoy the sipping chocolate at home, I mentioned I found using almond milk to be quite delicious. Right then the the gal at the counter offered to made a cup for me using almond milk! I am beyond thrilled with the products and service at Ginger Elizabeths.

Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates are worth the money. Yes these confections do cost more than Hersheys chocolates. They cost more than Whitmans chocolates. They are made of rare, wonderful, fresh, exquisite ingredients. If you think Ginger Elizabeth is over priced, find a quite place and do a side by side comparison. You will see the value if you let yourself actually taste it. We used to have to drive to San Francisco to get exquisite chocolates, now we have them right here in Sacramento. Support this business!

i love there macaroons i spend like 100$ a month there but i dislike how they dont offer u to try them.....theres so many im curious to buy, but i dont want to waist $1.75 if i might not like it. and it pretty gross and unsanitary that when they do have samples of chocolate cake its not in separate cups anyones bacteria touches each piece from grabbing another. there are so many macaroon shops in the same area i might check them out....the employees are always very nice though!!

The finest chocolatiers in all of Sacramento. Everything they touch is wonderful. Space is small and cozy / cramped. Items are very pricey. Quality is through the roof. They make everything from scratch and you can taste it. Whether its the ice cream, jams and preserves, truffles, cookies, chocolates or marshmallow its sublime. Staff are very friendly and can help you navigate the delicious yet overwhelming array of choices. Atmosphere 4/5 Staff 5/5 Chocolate 5/5

Best macarons ever! I love coming to Ginger Elizabeth on the special days (jam day, sundae day, etc). The ice cream sandwiches always hit the spot and during the winter Ill get the marshmallow baton to put in hot chocolate. The people who work here are very personable and friendly too. Ive been coming here so often that one of the employees began to recognize me. I recommend pre-ordering on the special days to avoid if they ever run out of the featured items!

I am definitely a chocoholic and I have experienced chocolate all over the world. I can say that Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates can compete with anything that I have tasted, from the chocolate pieces to the hot chocolates, ice cream sandwiches, amazing cookies, macaroons, frozen hot chocolate and more. This is the first place that I bring family and friends when they are visiting from out of town to show that Sacramento has a few hidden gems.
