Please dont be a victim. Just had a god awful experience. They tried to sell me a car with a leaking power steering rack. This is of course after, their "second to none" inspection. I pointed it out to the sales guy and told him I was very disappointed that I, the customer had to point this out. Its embarrassing really. He said they would inspect it and if it was an issue they would repair it and give me a due bill in writing at time of sale. I didnt even haggle price because I know it is going to cost around $500 for them to replace this part (at cost) and I figure, fair enough. I have literally written the check at this point and the guy has already cut the receipt when I ask to see the due bill before handing over the check. He really did not want to hand this over. I notice it is very vague, "Check leak and advise" and I tell him I want it spelled out as a power steering leak just in case they get silly and not want to fix it. The finance gentleman, not the sales guy at this point, makes it abundantly clear to me they are only promising to "look" into the issue and if there is a problem it is my responsibility. All stop. I inquire if this issue should even pass a vehicle inspection in the state of California, it shouldnt, and get the run around from these guys. It is my understanding ever car has to be inspected before being sold for this reason. They want to reconcile the following day once they have had someone look into it and assessed their risk to selling me the vehicle and I wont have it. I leave and ask them not to contact me further. Get a call halfway home, 1 hour drive one way. Turns out, I have the vehicle keys in my pocket. Thats literally how close I was to purchasing this vehicle. They had given me both sets of keys. So I turn around and travel a half hour back to the dealership to return the keys. OK, this is bad enough, right? Sales guy seemed like an alright guy and told me their would definitely be some follow up the following day. How did such an issue get past their trained mechanics? When I get home another salesman whom I had only brief interaction with previously through email at the facility who had nothing to do with the sale at the dealership sends me an email about bring back the keys. Now that was really the insult to injury. Terrible experience got worse with bad luck and this guy wants to lay it on thick. Buy a car here at your own risk, and I strongly advise you to have someone who knows what they are doing look at it before you hand over the check. TLDR: Tried to sell me a car with a big dollar problem that should of never passed inspection to begin with. Used shady tactics and bad luck made the whole experience worse.

I found my perfect used mustang online and it was listed at a great price in Downtown Ford Sales. I called them and spoke with Art – he was really outgoing, friendly and helpful over the phone. I had just come down with a nasty cold but I knew I wanted to act on this car so I set up an appointment to come in and look at it. When I arrived, Art greeted me with a smile and asked me if I’d like to see the mustang – straight to business (fun). I let everyone there know that I had a cold so only fist-bumps from then on out. I took a quick look at it and asked if I could test drive it – Art immediately said “yes of course, just need your ID and we will head out”…a minute later he came back and we were off. Art was able to give me a lot of information on the car and explained some parts of the rigorous 170+ point inspection that qualifies the ford to be certified used. I appreciated the fact that the small details were not overlooked and you could tell that the mustang was in impeccable shape. Art wasn’t afraid to let me have a little fun on the test drive, which was cool. I mean obviously we weren’t doing donuts but I sure wanted to… Kind of hard to not have a little fun in such an amazing car. We sat down and went over some numbers and tried to make it fit my budget as best as possible. Unfortunately the negotiations weren’t really working out the way I was hoping and I eventually walked away from the deal. There was absolutely NO pressure and they were all very cool and mature about the process – something pretty rare in the industry. I went home and pondered on it for a while – figured out ways to make the budget work for me and went back in. Art was excited to see me and we sat down again and started the buying process. At this point I was really tired from the cold / cough so Art offered me water – someone who worked there even brought me some cough drops which was fantastic. I asked them to expedite the purchase process as much as possible and they were happy to do so. We made a deal that was actually pretty close to my budget and I know my wife would be happy. I couldn’t be happier with the car – I honestly feel like it’s brand new but I got a great deal for it. Art was a really fun and cool guy and very helpful and informative – he knew his stuff for sure. I would recommend Art to my friends and family for any car purchase. Thank you Downtown Ford Sales for making my car buying experience enjoyable!

3rd time taking my car into this place for issues. first time because the catalytic converters went bad on my new mustang with less then 6k miles on it. then when i got it back it had an exhaust leak on the driver side and a metal clank sound when i turn corners. so went in for one issue and came back with two! it went back in for the 2nd time to fix the exhaust leak and the metal sound they found the clamp on the one side failed so had to order a whole new pipe. they also blamed the place that installed my aftermarket exhaust saying its hitting my sway bay! i got it back and i still hear the clanking sound when i turn corners so i took it to sacramento muffler who did the exhaust to have it checked. they put it on the rack and looked and NOTHING is wrong back there and everything they did was nice and tight. took it on a drive with the tech and he heard the sound but we determined it has zero to do with the exhaust that was done by these guy. sacramento muffler gave me a report to take back into ford showing that the issue is a ford issue and not caused by them. ford can now figure out why it has that clanking sound after they worked on it. not a good experience with ford service and i have two newer ford vehicles. Im now considering other brands when it comes time to switch, which i usually do every year. sad because i was looking at the new Raptor but now looking at a Hellcat charger and may switch to Dodge. my ford explorer is starting to act up now too and dreading that service day and hope i can just sell it or trade it in before then : 0
