Buyer Beware!!!! They abuse and hold on to your car documents such as registration and abuse you when you decide not to buy under undisclosed terms. We went to the Nissan Gilroy at 400 Stutz Way, Gilroy, CA 95020 and were seeing cars in the lot. A salesman came out and invited us in. The salesman said that the interest rate in the financing was 3.9%. The salesmans manager went back and forth on the amount of the trade in and then when we went through the final round they added text in unreadable writing that they asked me to initialize, stating that GAP and other items would be included. They said this was related to the free lifetime warranty and I was not paying anything extra for that. They did not expIain that these items were premiums and would raise my monthly payment and I specifically told the Sales Manager that I was not interested in paying any premiums for insurance of any kind, and was paying only for the cost of the car less trade in and the customary charges such as sales tax. He said I will not be paying anything extra. They took my cars registration slip, ownership slip and insurance for my trade-in. The payments was described as a monthly amount and at an interest rate of 4.8%, a higher rate than as stated by the salesman. They did not disclose the breakdown on which the payment was based, such as principal and only other items and only a monthly payment. They kept us waiting and I thought that the monthly amount was excessive and asked for a breakdown from finance. They continued to make us wait. I told them that I needed to leave and give me my documents. They gave me the documents except my registration slip. I asked for this repeatedly and was waiting in my car outside the showroom. The sales manager then came with a sheet of paperwork showing premiums being added and I told him I was not interested and asked for my registration slip and he never gave me the registration slip, and he went back in the showroom. I had to leave and was unnecessarily detained and didnt want to leave without my registration slip so I went to the showroom to get my registration slip. The sales manager was talking to someone possibly the owner/GM, who asked me why I didnt want to proceed and I told him I needed to have my registration back. The owner/GM then used the f word and asked me to leave the place and I said I needed my registration slip. He crumpled my registration slip and threw it across the room in front of his employees. I was respectful at all times. The owner/GM and he continued to make foul finger gestures. I would caution anyone going to the dealership to hold on to your original documents. Be prepared for a higher interest rate than as quoted by your salesman. Then be prepared for verbal abuse when you decide not to buy the car. Be prepared to be detained when you dont want to buy the car as they obviously want to hold on to your documents. Read any documents that they ask you to sign and if they scribble ineligible things and cannot explain the finance breakdown from the beginning, then wait for a surprise later. Nissan is a good company and I am surprised at the behavior of this dealership. I am glad that I did not buy a car from them, and they lack credibility, honesty and are crude and disrespectful. Buyer beware.

Ive been trying to buy a Nissan Frontier from here for over a week now. Like anyone else, I did my research, went to the Nissan USA official website, and looked to see what offers were available to me. I saw an offer on Nissan Frontier SV which sought my eye, and had it texted to my phone directly from Nissans website assuming that would eliminate hassle with the dealership.........but NO! For over a week now I have been trying to get a straight answer regarding this offer, and today "Stephanie (no last name)" from Consumer Affairs returned my call after I was told that her manager would call me only to tell me that her manager say "Nissan doesnt send out textesses (lol) for available offers on new Nissans". I asked her if she had ever been to the Nissan website herself, and found out that she was on it right then, so I guided her to the page where a prospective buyer clearly has the option to have the offer texted to them. I said "Stephanie, do you see that button that says "text me this offer"?"she said "yes I do" and so I asked "Is your official stance still that Nissan doesnt text offers?" The only response she would give me regardless of how I worded the question was "My manager told me to tell you that Nissan doesnt send out textesses (lol again) for offers on new Nissans." I was later told by another rep that a manager would call me by the end of business Monday. I made it clear that on Monday my interest rate increases on my approval through my credit union, but he could not guarantee that anyone would attempt to resolve the situation any sooner! It will really take a lot to convince me to buy a Nissan at this point, I have never witnessed anything like this, and I have bought and sold a LOT of cars and trucks before!

We were on a cross-country, family vacation in a Nissan we just purchased used from a Ford dealer 1500 miles from Gilroy. When we noticed what appeared to be white smoke and oil dripping from the exhaust, my husband and I thought our long journey to visit relatives in San Francisco might be over. Panic. Fortunately, we were around the corner from Gilroy Nissan where we were greeted by the friendliest staff, who immediately pulled our vehicle into a service bay, determined that the problem was a simple and easy fix (oil level was too high when wed had it changed at home before the trip), and didnt laugh at us for freaking out like crazy tourists with limited maintenance skills. In fact, they invited us in and offered us coffee and water while we waited a whole five seconds. Our family was back on the road in no time, and the techs wished us a safe and happy journey. Look, folks, if youre shopping for a new vehicle, these people are genuinely concerned about customer service -- even when they stand to gain nothing. I would buy a service contract from them with no hesitation! Thank you SO much, Gilroy Nissan and Rob Pia, for ensuring our trip was safe and with zero hassles. Because of you, we were able to continue our adventure and return home with peace of mind. :) Cheers.
