Target is the new Wal-Mart but with a better image. Target provides competitive prices and an excellent presentation. The appearance of the store is what makes Target a pleasant experience and Wal-Mart a chore. The simple fact that Target is commonly referred to as Tarjay (to make it sound fancier) drives my point home. Target’s attention to its image pays dividend by adding value to its products, the added value is a complete fabrication of our brains, but it’s one that’s important to us (the customer, we like pretty) and the reason for returned visit. While this Target store is a pleasant experience, it does have a torn in its heel –the parking. Target is located at the main entrance to the shopping center, all traffic coming and going is tunneled up to Target’s doors and then forced to turn right or left. This creates a choking point for car coming and going. The three-way stopping creates traffic just to enter the plaza; the speed bumps less than 10 feet away from the stop signs makes progress a slow torture; and the crisscrossing of pedestrian making their way to Target’s doors is just icing on the cake. I understand that Target wants to be the first image shoppers see when entering the plaza. I understand the draw and power of the image. However, Target is not the first image shoppers see, the store is just a blurry background to car bumpers and people jumping in front of cars. The parking lot design is the stores biggest hurdle. I would suggest creating an entrance specific section and an exit specific section (not next to each other). This might sound silly, but if you want to increase the flow of people to the store, keep the entrance of the store clear (remove the car congestion in front of it).

Same good selection, but all rearranged. Helpful hint: the fitting rooms are now located front and center, not on the back wall as they have been for years. Unfortunately, with the only signage facing the front of the store; by the time I realized I needed directions to the dressing room, I could not see a sign (or an associate -- I ended up lugging an armful of bras all the way to electronics to ask for directions! Ugh.) Suggestion for the store personnel: it would be very helpful in preventing another customer from the same negative experience i had if you could place signage on the big box the dressing rooms are in, facing the wall where they used to be. So customers who go to the old spot can turn around in confusion, only to see the sign and have an "aha!" moment.

Fully stocked department store with various sundry items, clean, well lit, lots of checkers, good prices and open until midnight except for Sunday (closes at 11 p.m.). The clothing is much better quality than Wal*Mart and no phony "sale" prices like Kohls. Look for special red price change tags on items - and sometimes the price is even lower when the item is scanned at the register. Good return policy, but the line can be slow during peak times. I have never had trouble finding trouble finding parking in the very full lot, and I have been shopping there since it was GEMCO. The food court is decent for a light lunch, snack or beverage and the prices are decent too.

This target is the closest to me and was my favorite Target store. My friends and I are very disappointed in the new layout since the remodel. The womens department is huge and chaotic and is overly stuffed with the most random clothing. It is hard to tell where the juniors section and womens sections begin and end. There is no order and much less space. The mens department is easily half as big as it was before the remodel. The housewares section of the store is okay. It is easy to find what you are looking for but it really did not change except for the location in the store. The overall feel is junky. Sadly, it feels smaller, darker and is not inviting.

This Target in Pleasant Hill not has reduced the mens clothing department to little more than an afterthought, the men they are catering to is Mr Trendy, the type guy wholl spend a whole paycheck on the newest color of mauve to be featured on a sport jacket and skinny boxer briefs. And this store has this irritating habit which I believe intentional, of putting regular prices items among sale priced on a clearance shelf. See picture. Those fans are regular priced, but clearly look to be 70%off. Legally, they call that bait n switch. One day the district attorney will investigate this store

Compared to the other Targets that I shop at in a 50-60 mile radius, this Target has one of the biggest scrapbooking sections around, even beating out Target Walnut Creek and all the ones in San Francisco. Everything else is pretty decent as well. When I come to this Target I tend to shop exclusively at the Dollar Spot and the supplies section for scrapbooking items. Each Target has a different Dollar Spot selection, but this Target store and the one in Walnut Creek has the best selection and both stores keep their Dollar Spots tidy and organized.

Website showed a discounted price and that product was available at this location. Drove down to the store to purchase it and the price was $25 higher! Talked to the manager and they wouldnt even match their own website pricing! Go to Frys for all your electronics. Not only do they sell in-store for the same price as listed on their website, they also match all competitors in-store and website pricing. I will never shop at Target again.

Nice position relative to the free way. It is the first building when taking the Concord Ave exit when coming from the Martinez direction. It has a lot of the standard target stuff and the popcorn that many people love. The parking is normally difficult when striving to park close. However, there is adequate handicap parking. They are very efficient when it comes to exchanges and refunds.

Getting worse, target has been going downhill, this store is the pinnacle of that. More and more it feels like k-mart, lowest level of customer service and not the best deals, everytime Im in this place I always ask myself why didnt I just go to Walmart. Horrible parking, alway no karts inside and long lines, even in the self checkout.

One of the nicer Target stores Ive been to, and its been consistently good since Ive grown up in this area. A few rude/strange staff over the years, but most are friendly and very helpful. They often have team meetings out on the floors to keep up on things, but dont ignore you when you walk by.

I used to live in Oakley so I am a little jaded here. This store is currently under construction but its big with a great selection and the staff is eager to help you find your way around. I am a target fan so nothing would stop me from going its the closest besides the one in Walnut Creek.

Ordered via Curbside but no one ever came out to deliver my order. Went inside and it seemed the guest services area was understaffed. The associate apologized quite a few times.
