Ive been to Whole Foods all over due to my work (Atlanta, Scottsdale, Tampa, Dublin, Seattle just to name a few) and one thing Ive noticed is that their corporate office is terrible at their job. So all the stores vary in quality, selection, cleanliness, stocking ability and just general orderliness or chaos. This store is the worst Ive experienced. You cant shop normally here (Before I had the misfortune to live near this store I did 100% of my shopping at Whole Foods) because they are constantly changing their products and running out of things (or both). They dont have two important things for me that all of their other stores had: 1) A way to refill water jugs, my normal shopping routine before this place was to refill my water jugs. Cant do it here because theyre more interested in selling bottled water than letting you do the right thing and refill (yet youre supposed to believe all the ethics BS they have posted all over). 2) They also have no selection of freshed bottled non-pasteurized juices (though they weirdly have a huge juice bar). The last place I worked in the Bay area had a huge selection of juices in all different sizes (up to half a gallon I believe). Juices that would change seasonally. This place is too interested in selling high priced small bottles of cold pressed juices. Long lines to checkout, impossible to get anyones attention at the bakery, huge emphasis on prepared foods (place looks like a Food Court at a mall). One thing I will say though, if you ever want entertained approach their management with issues. Youll never be so nicely lied to in your life.

A little on the expensive side, sure. But we are talking about a fairly high degree of quality and freshness. Selection is huge. The employees are extremely pleasant. The mens room is clean, odor-free and sports the space-age Dyson air dryer. They also provide organically raised beef, pork and poultry items you just wont find in other stores, at least not on this scale. This includes locally raised grass fed ground beef. Seafood counter is a big selection of fresh caught wild and farm raised fish and other sea creatures, cooked for you any way you like, upon request. Eat in, take out. Coffee, nuts, wines, spirits, frozen, dairy. The juice bar is top notch serving an assortment of fresh organic fruits and vegetables. This particular store is big, perhaps a little overwhelming, and the total at check out can sometimes elicit mild dread, but I maintain that eating well is too important to skimp on.

I used to go here almost every day as I work close by. The prices are extremely high in comparison to other markets in the area. As I frequently walk past this establishment, I see the local homeless and sometimes questionable life participants sitting, smoking and sometimes just blocking the sidewalks. After traveling my daily walk, I noticed that many of these people are wearing Whole Foods hats, shirts and aprons. I thought this was a nice gesture to provide these items to our smoking public, but then I noticed some of these people in the market itself. Some of them must work here. Another great advertising strategy gone wrong. Whole Foods is trying to claim itself as "organic," but missing the mark with their employees hanging out a few doors down at empty doorways smoking and throwing the butts on the sidewalk and street. I did stop frequenting this establishment.

Whole foods is great! They have a juice bar; live music; a gigantic selection of alcohol (including a bar); oodles of food in their olive, salad, international, and vegan bars; a wonderful bakery; and several restaurants (pizza, sushi, calzones, salad and more). There are TONS of gluten free, raw, and vegan products. They also give case discounts. They have two floors of parking, free charging spots for electric cars, and a small, but robust, flowers/plants section. They have a large section devoted to makeup, bulk soaps, vitamins, shampoos etc. Fruits and veg selection is huge and full of organic choices. Though I dont partake, their seafood, meat and cheese areas are quite large as well. They have a bulk section which is OK, but Ive seen better. I wish they had refillable shampoo/conditioner, laundry soap, powdered bleach alternative, olive oil, dish soap, and spices.

Whole Foods has standards of consciousness towards the human being. We pay high prices for quality. I would make sure that the persons running your restaurants have equal amounts of sensitivity and quality. Every one can have a bad day, things happen and things can be forgotten… but his behavior towards making sure that things where kindly and sensitively attended to where so far from what any restaurant server should be following. I am appalled, and I will no longer be visiting your Whole Foods restaurant or store. I am not one for suggesting that any employee be let go, as we all have moments that are challenged by circumstances not understood by others, however if this person can not have the control and common sense to adhere to basic restaurant protocol, then you will continue to lose good loyal customers like myself.

BEWARE!! Dont shop here, if you are African-American!! Security guards target and follow you in presumptive anticipation of catching you in the act of stealing. Today, one guard demanded that I not use my shopping bag. Ive observed shoppers, using personal bags on numerous occasions, being left to shop unmolested. An arrogant and insensitive assistant manager (Lyle) supported the guards discriminatory behavior. He insisted it was necessary otherwise I would walk out of the store without paying for my merchandise!!! I use personal shopping bags at the Whole Foods in Glendale and Hastings Ranch. Ive never endured such discriminatory treatment at either of those locations! This is totally unacceptable in a city where African-Americans make up a large number of Whole Foods customers!

Having just moved to the Pasadena area from Seattle I thought I would have to accept a step down in grocery stores. I had been spoiled by Seattles downtown Whole Foods and thought there couldnt possibly be another one like it. After being disappointed by the selection at my closer Fresh and Easy and Vonns, I tried the Arroyo Whole Foods. Two floors and grocery shopping fun. I wont mention the endless choices of prepared food, juice bar, burritos, pizza, etc. Ill just say that when a grocery store holds a happy hour at its own wine and tapas joint and people come to hang out in the store it must be doing something right. For a single guy getting to go grab dinner, get a drink, watch the game, and get my shopping done all in one spot was a great plus.

Do you know you can host your childs birthday party at Whole Foods? Yes, you can! My daughter had her 9th birthday party just last week and ALL her friends(& their parents) had a blast! The kids toured the produce dept. looking for their rainbow of colors amongst fruits and vegetables, tasted a mystery juice at the juice bar(kids had to guess the ingredients), topped their own pizza, and decorated their own cupcakes. The store supervisors, Ashley and Cindy, were kid friendly, helpful & extremely organized! If youre looking for something different for your childs birthday party, Id HIGHLY recommend Whole Foods @ Arroyo, Pasadena. Our hats off to you Ashley & Cindy for doing a marvelous job!!!

This Whole Foods store has the creepiest and most obnoxious security guard that has ever been seen anywhere. Theres a big tall sloppy unpleasant menacing Hispanic guy in security guard uniform who gets in customers way, follows customers around, stares at customers, and gives customers menacing and intimidating stares. Very creepy. Funny hes a security guard. Hes the only security threat in this high end neighborhood store. Very bad vibes. There are other complaints on the internet about security guards in other Whole Foods stores in LA. Wonder if they just transfer and shuffle problem security guards around.
