We all know theres lots of great prepped food, and lots of healthy choices here. And on first blush, the place is fun and looks terrific. We also know the place is referred to as Whole Paycheck, too, because youll pay the highest prices possible in todays market. But did you know that beneath the veneer of New Age-ism and sophisto-hippy health food correctness, lies what may be a cynical exploitation of no-questions-asked acceptance. Take, for instance, this sad little saga... I walk in the door and there a huge sign that says ORGANIC and then $7.99 each, and pile of Watermelons. So I put this thing in may cart, do a weeks worth of shopping, and check out. First, the checker opens a sealed case of Amys burritos (%10 discount on the case) and COUNTS each one. She says I may have tried to sneak an extra one in there somehow. Uh, okay.... My bill comes to $210 (Yikes!), I pay, and walk to the car. I happened to look at the receipt and see that I was charged $28 for the watermelon. Hmmm. I go back and the manager says "happens all the time. i can give your money back." No apology. I wait for some more of my precious time. Finally he brings the refund. No profuse apologies. I mention it to the checker on the way out. she shrugs. Says she must have thought it was $7.99 a POUND. well that is a true dummy. A thrirty pound watermelon at $7.99 a pound would be, well, about $240, right? No apology... defensiveness, actually. Listen, if a high end retailer messes up, like that, say Neimans, Tiffany, or whomever, they KNOW that because they charge a premium for their goods, they should treat their customers with RESPECT. Even the dreaded airlines give you a voucher if a flight is delayed. (Trust me they do, but you have to ask). This instance depicts Whole Foods as not a good guy at all... but just another cynivcal enterprise to take our money and then treat us like... uh, organic manure. Oh and by the way... try leaving "feedback" at the WF website you fill out all the fields and then it conveniently "malfunctions" so the "feedback" never can be sent. CYNICAL CYNICAL CYNICAL. What a joke on those "correct" peeps shopping there!

Cant do business with greedy company like this one. Today was my first time that I went to whole foods in my life. I went to order a beef burrito at this location and asked the employee that Id like to get an avocado in my sandwich and Im fine with the addition charge for that. So according to their policy, a quarter of avocado cost $1.00 but the employee had to waste half of the quarter of avocado because it was black and kept the rest of it which was 1/8th of avocado. After that I also asked him to add a leaf of lettuce to my burrito as well. At the end I grabbed the food and went to pay and noticed that not only he charged for the avocado but also he charged for any items that was outside of the menu such lettuce, tomato, and onions as well for $1.00 for each items. I was so disappointed and went back to the food department explaining them that those items shouldnt be charged as an additional charge because there were not stated on the menu. The only additional charges can be applied are for avocado, extra cheese and extra meat. Not for lettuce or other veggies. Then the employee said that it is what it is and that he wont take the price off. So I had to report those employees to the management and all they did was to say sorry and that they would take care of it. So my first time experience at the whole foods turned out to leave the place with empty hand and feeling disappointed.

What is wrong with Glendale? We have tons of great stores including Whole Foods, but this is the saddest Whole Foods location that Ive ever been to in all of California. Despite a major remodel last year, things are consistently disorganized. The new layout and floor plan makes no improvement to the flow of the store, nor is checkout any easier. The food bar is disgusting. One of the worse Ive ever seen from a Whole Foods. They serve the same things - wilted and overdressed salads, dry chicken parts, over cooked pastas, and - I dont think they use real eggs for their breakfast items. Juice bar workers are mean. The desserts are all very dry. The pizzas are overly greasy. Food in general are not prepared very well at this location. Seating is also horrendous. Flower lady is mean. Florals are never priced. They could have done so much more during the remodel to get things right...

What is there not to love about this place. I can live in this store. AWESOME selection of produce and meats albeit all on the much more expensive side than youd find at the local ethnic grocery stores but thats not their target market. If youre looking for very fresh organic food, then there is no question that Wholefood is the only THE ONLY game in town. Awesome staff. Awesome selection. Well laid out and excellent parking despite repeated abusive parking practices by YWCA visitors across the street. I wish WF would actually enforce their signs and remove a few vehicles because the no parking signs is completely laughable and utterly ignored despite the "security guard" driving the cart around. Parking has stopped me from going inside many a times so hopefully they will actually do something about the problem

This has been my "go to" lately. Mike is an incredible BA and really knows his stuff. Hell stand there and talk with you about everything he has on the shelf if youll let him. Great guy and extremely knowledgeable. The atmosphere would be better, but lets face it...its a grocery store. Almost always crowded, and the beer aisle seems to be pretty packed with everything that is going on around it. Mike rotates his selection frequently. It seems like hes the only guy in the area that can frequently bring in Alpine and he has a great Belgian selection. He brings in the majority of limited releases and typically gets more than the rest of the whole foods that I have been to. Everything is very fairly priced and he will almost always let you break up 6 packs or 4 packs if you dont want to purchase the whole thing.

I love Whole Foods but this one in Glendale has challenges . Ordering a hamburger to go over by all the sandwich pizza area is simply , awful. I have tried 6 different times on different days and still the service is horrible. Food is great if its warm that is . Ordering is confusing everyone behind the counter looks like ....please dont order . The staff talks to each other and looks at those ordering with a attitude. Just wonderful . Will never Oder from this area again . Complained to help hoping they could change something nope .....no wonder Whole Foods is in trouble...could care less about their customers. Well lost me as a customer. Hello Sprouts, Grassroots, TJs , Farmers Markets , Gelsons ., yeah they all care ......

The hot food section is ridiculously slow and unfriendly. Ive never experienced a group of people who were so idle yet unhelpful. They take an unbelievably long time to serve anyone and want to speak minimally to the customer. Have a question? An allergy? Care about what youre trying to order? Too bad. They just stare at you or ignore you completely. I asked for three tacos.. got two. Explained I have a soy allergy, so I would like a vegetarian taco without tofu.. tofu dumped everywhere. I explained again- I cant eat that. No thank you. I cant eat tofu. Same order without tofu. She handed me the tray anyway and took the next order. What is going on?
