I have been shopping at the store in Moreno Valley for 10 years and have purchased several long guns over those years. On November 1,2023 a new guy named MIKE informed me that he would not sell me a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun because I intended to give it to my wife as a gift. He absolutely refused to let me purchase the weapon because I intended to gift it to my wife. I completely understand that any transfer of ownership in the future will need to be done through one of the many FFL holders that I use. However, I have been a loyal customer for years but I intend to stop doing business with this chain in the future and I will make it my business to let everyone know how anti-gun Big5 has become. I will of course purchase the weapon from another customer friendly store. They need to train their people that it is in no way any of their business who in my family uses a weapon. MIKE is not able to force his beliefs upon me. He may not like guns. Then he should not work for a company that sells them. I have NEVER been treated this way. I am a retired, disabled vet.

A while back I bought a Daisy Powerline 880S from another location and didnt pay attention to the fact that it was supposed to come with a scope, but there was none when theu first opened the box. I finally got around to going to a store and mentioned it to the manager here, but did not expect any special treatment since it was a manufacturer mistake and the other store sold it. He went out of his way and gave me a discount on it, and I didnt even ask or expect it. This place has my respect.

I used to work at a big 5 when I was in college. Most of the people working there are limited to that job because theyre not the sharpest tool in the shed. Be cool with them and youd be surprised how they can be cool/nice. Not everyone is as blessed as some of us. Try being nice to all employees everywhere. Its amazing how much of a better experience you can have :) pass it on. Thx

Place has limited soccer cleats and not very nice ones. Every thing else is semi decent doesnt really have same equipment as other stores. Associates are hard to find and the one I asked was a girl who was just talking probably to the manager about gossip...Come on now.

i went into this store and i asked if they had any 10 inch dildos. the guy mike said, no i bought the last one. so i said, boy you cant handle 10 inches, but i could, so can you sell me back that dildo, even if its used. please. pretty please....inconsiderate staff.

The staff here is always super friendly and you get a feel for a nice little sporting good store without all of the huge warehouse atmosphere. Super friendly with everything from fishing licenses to great prices on camping equipment on holiday weekends.

I went to buy some snow boots paid 42 dollars. The box says waterproof, when i used them my feet were soaked and frozen. I took them back to the store, and i was told by the manager I couldnt return them because they were wet.

Big 5 is so much cheaper than everyone else, even when they have sales. Unfortunately, Big 5 also has a very small selection. It is my go-to store, but thats also because all the other stores nearby closed.

Good place when there is a value to be had. Sad that big 5 LOST a shipment of pistols and now can only sell long guns. Do not buy anything that inst "on sale" as it will be next week.
