Summit Store (aka La Tienda) is committed to our mountain community, which I applaud. This store has served the community since mankind, or at least 1977, when I moved to the area. I remembered when La Tienda donated perishable food to the community during the Loma Prieta Fire of 1985 of which I was a participant. Thank you And similar behavior during the EQ of 1989. Thank you again. During those times they were a local store serving the community. Are they now, a community store, a boutique store, or just your grocery store? It appears they are trying to do all and not becoming good at any. A shout out to both Lupe and Eric, who have both been icons of Summit Store for all my enjoyable years, keep up the good work.

The Summit Store is a gem. Located on Summit Road, its a great place to stop for lunch or to take a break while exploring the mountains. While not quite as huge as your typical "regular" grocery store, Summit Store is indeed a full grocery store nonetheless. And its a nice one at that. Theres a full deli with tons of ready-to-eat foods, as well as produce and boxed foods and the entire back wall is a cold case full of beverages. Then you can enjoy some time on the patio under an umbrella before continuing on your journey. Its a popular place so youll plenty of folks come and go while eating your lunch. Worth mentioning that they have multiple portable toilets outside in case you need a pitstop.

This is an amazing little store that has a tremendous variety of items, a great deli & butcher, a coffee shop, a sushi chef and a great local wine & beer selection. They have free WiFi and a nice patio to eat your lunch or snack, or you can take it to one of the many wineries in the area and have a picnic there. Its family owned (now with 2 generations working there) and they are quite open to suggestions from their patrons. Mention that you cant find something and within a week, there it is... If enough people buy it then it stays on the shelves. Because of this flexibility, there is a large British food section for the expat community that lives in the mountains.

If this store had bargain pricing I would give it five stars. So it is expensive to shop here. But not unreasonable. What you would expect to pay at a low volume independent. That is it for negatives. Everything else about this little market is first class. It has a nice little deli with sandwiches plus a hot/cold food bar. A well stocked meat counter. Large wine and cheese selection. Great fresh veggies and fruit. All the other need one of this or two of that. Plus a friendly staff. In short, a good place to get almost anything you need in a fairly remote location.

This place is like a little country store but a little bit high end. They have a sushi cook on-site, lots of local food, organic items, a deli and butcher store, a lot of odd items and a bit of Whole Foods style self-serve lunch items. Small parking lot but Ive never seen it full. There is a small patio area with tables to have lunch or relax. There are no public indoor restrooms but they have 2 port-a-potties in the parking lot with a portable sink. This is basically the only public market and food service in the area but still a very good place.

It might the only store, but its still a great one! The market up on summit is a interesting place full of interesting characters. Recently its also full of high quality foods and even a outdoor patio to chill out on. Im giving this market a honest five stars and always look forward to grabbing a snack and a drink on my way back down the hill from a hard day of riding.

Its our local store, you can get a lot of different stuff here. They have big selection of organic fruits and veggies and anything you would suddenly need, like batteries, diapers, cleaning stuff. Many people go here to get a coffee! They have also small buffet with fresh made food. The people working here are nice and friendly. I just love this local supermarket.

A gem in the mountains. I live down the road, so not sure how wed even live without this place, but its also a major boon for bikers and wine tasters alike that flock to this area on weekends. A surprisingly upscale and fully stocked store. Gourmet cheeses and meats, overall impressive selection. An oasis of convenience and quality!

All I can say is Wow! You have got to try the fully loaded Tri-Tip on Dutch Crunch Sandwich. This was perfect after a day of Mountain Biking in Demo Forest. The store also has a great variety of other essentials. The outdoor seating was also a treat to take in the fresh air. Check. This place out if you are in the area.

Super-customer-oriented, convenient and high quality. So very happy to have this store way up in my neighborhood. The next possible shopping is 12 miles either north or south. If it was a crummy shack Id still shop there, but its an up-scale, homey, well-stocked, bright, friendly store - - just a super asset to the area.

Amazing selection for the size of the store. Recently the quality of the product and meat they have available has improved. There is a slight premium because of location on some items but generally things are pretty fair. Would love to see more offerings from local Santa Cruz County farms, especially for eggs and meat.

My parents live up here and I always stop by Summit Store to pick up some supplies. Theyve got the basic grocery store staples + a ton of house made treats. If you are looking for a meal on the go or fixings for a great BBQ this is the place to go!
