I had a BestBuy consultant come to my home to recommend a home stereo and tv configuration. It took him a week and a half to show up, and then another week to send me the proposal and the total cost, which ended up being about FOUR TIMES over my budget. I then went to the La Jolla Best Buy myself, and reduced this "ideal" installation proposal to only necessary components, and the cost came down 75%!! Unfortunately, it took FIVE TRIPS to Best Buy to accomplish this. THEN, after I thought I was in the clear, it turned out that the delivery date was a week and a half away. So then a week and a half went by, and the delivery people called to tell me they can only bring PART OF my order!! I told them "No thank you. Ill wait until you can install everything at once." Another week went by, and the guy came to install the system. He took one look at my home, and said "They sold you the wrong equipment. This wont work for your home." So then I decided to upgrade to a system that will work, which I paid for over the phone because IM NOT going back to the store AGAIN. But when I paid for it, the salesman says the delivery scheduling software is down (it was down two weeks ago also), and he is busy with another customer, but hell call me back. 24hrs goes by, and no call back. I decided to call and try to schedule again. He was busy with a customer again, but hed call me back within the hour. Again, no call back. So I called the next day to cancel my order and get a full refund. This went smoothly, until I looked at my visa bill today, and found that they didnt credit my visa to the full amount!!! They literally tried to steal my money after all this!! It gets better!! I went to Frys Electronics and started over. I spent the same amount there and got MORE product, AND they could deliver and install in a couple days!! In addition, the TV calibration that BestBuy sells for $200 after you put 100hours on your TV IS A TOTAL SCAM. Frys has the calibration dvd that you pop right in yourself!!!! It costs $100, but it comes with a $100 hdmi cable, so the calibration is effectively FREE!!! BestBuy is a SCAM!!!! I plan on telling the entire city of San Diego about the unbelievably POOR customer service at the La Jolla Best Buy. I will NEVER set foot in that, or any other, Best Buy ever again. I had to rate this business as "Poor" because there isnt a worse option.

While I have had a somewhat average experience at this Best Buy, my recent experience in this store chenged my opinion immensely...I came in to have my 2 year old Vizio tv repaired but they instead exchanhed it for a new one. After shopping for a new one, the associate assured me that the old wall mount would work for my new tv, he was wrong. After calling the next day and informing them that the associate had misinformed me they said to come in and they would get me the right mount and take a bit off the price, sounds good, right? Nope. I came in, told them the rv I had bought, the associate, and even the Sony rep himself, looked at the tv, looked at the specs and picked the "right" mount for me. I got it home, mounted the mount itself to my wall (had to make new holes in my wall for it) then went to put the brackets on my tv..this mount that was pickes out by 2 "professionals" blocked the hdmi ports necessary to even use the tv. I came back in and told yet another associate this problem and he informed me that this model was for OLDER model tvs, not the newer tv that I bought then walked me back to the tv mounts, pointing out the one I actually needed, a $200 tv mount. I returned both my tv and the mount. This shows the people at this store care more about pushing products on you over actually listening to what the customer wants. I will never step foot in this Best Buy again.

Bought three Samsung tablets for my family during a recent sale with one of them no longer turning on after 3 weeks of minimal use. Attempted to exchange it at this location and was basically accused of damaging the charging port even though it looks brand new and exactly the same as the two other working tablets. We even showed them the store display tablet with an identical appearing charging port, but these employees/Geek squad knew without a doubt that we had damaged the charging port. We went to another location and it was quickly found that there was a corrupted software file on the OS and needed a hard reboot. There was definitely nothing wrong with the charging port. This entire ordeal has made me really disgusted and honestly could have been figured out at the first Best Buy if they were actually focused on helping customers. I can honestly say all of the other negative reviews are correct. This location is full of all the failed abortions of San Diego and I have never run into such a large group of rude and incompetent people. It should never automatically be the customers fault and I honestly hope this location is shutdown. The only advantage Best Buy has ever had was convenience and not waiting for shipping from an online retailer, but I will honestly be never shopping at any Best Buy ever again.

Horrible experience. We went to buy a 4K TV; we knew what brand and model we wanted. The sales person was OK at first but started getting chippy after we didnt want to buy add-on equipment to improve sound quality (we already had moved up to a TV costing about $400 more than our original target, because the more expensive one was apparently better). When we got home and was sent a receipt via email, we found some major discrepancies with what we had agreed to buy and what they were going to sell us (delivery was delayed a few days). We called the 800 number to get the incorrect items and charges changed. We were told that there was no way to do that without going back to the store. We then said we wanted to cancel the entire order. We were told that it wasnt possible. By law in this state (California) all consumers have the right to cancel an order; this order was only 2 hours old! We had to raise the roof to get the order cancelled. Never again. Well spend our $1500 somewhere else. Happy ending! Turns out the same set is $100 cheaper elsewhere.

I couldnt possibly be less happy with this location. God awful customer service and incompetent "technicians" make this place wholly unsalvageable. I was lied to regularly by the managers and when confronted for their abhorrent behavior they were unrepentant and rude. Every product I have bought here has broken immediately, and I have had enormous issues getting these people to honor even the most basic terms of their warranty. Buying something here is like casting a vote to preserve the cesspool of laziness, incompetence and maliciousness that is this particular location. If you must shop at best buy, please do yourself a favor and visit another location. Sadly, we have been coming here for years but it seems the management has changed and in light of how many problems we have had at this location in recent years, I cannot recommend this store to anybody.
